George Strait is the only singer that I have seen that can stand in front of an audience and sounds the same Live or on recording. He doesn't need flashing lights, doesn't need to jump around and act up, he just stands there and delivers the best show in country.
You're exactly right. He sounds just like the recording on every single song and he has the distinction of being the only concert I ever walked out on. I made it about halfway through and found myself bored. The Judds had opened for him and blew me away.
I saw him years ago. You could have put up a cardboard cutout and played the music off a cd and you wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. A huge disappointment live. Thankfully Martina McBride was at that show and blew the doors off the place.
Idk if I would go that far there is alot of older guys that did country better like Roy Rodgers using just a guitar and no auto tune or fancy things to make his voice better
In the video, in the white limo, the grown man gives his wife the note when wrote all those years ago. He'd kept it all through their childhood, high school, and years of marriage. Yeah, your right; it was sweet.
I'm 34 and grew up listening to Georgie and Alan Jackson (thanks mom) I just saw King George in concert this weekend at the ripe old age of 69! He's still got it!
This the last stop on a 2 year tour called The Cowboy Rides Away Tour. He still does concerts but not orig hazed tours. This concert had over 104,000 people. He did marry his high school sweetheart. They have been married over 50 years.
George performed a song, in the movie Pure Country, called I Cross My Heart, when I was a younger man. If you like gushy love songs, this would be a great video to react to. Keep doing what you're doing. Your reactions are a big part of my days, and they entertain my son as well.
george is amazing. YOu will also love "Cross my heart" From a movie in which he starred, Amarillo By Morning and All My exs live in texas. So many good choices with him. Troubador, ah you'll find them. Lovely, fun reaction to a lovely, fun song. Thanks.
You would of been gushing even more if you had watched the music video. I remember this song came out when I was around 10 years old. I've loved George Straight since I was a kid. I'm a southern Belle from Alabama so I grew up on obviously alot of country, Gospel and Rock in Roll. I'm a singer and musician and grew up in theater and took ballet. Performing has always been a passion of mine. I have a great appreciation for many genres of music and its always a pleasure to watch peoppe my age or younger discover these amazingly talented artists that I grew up on. Some of the best country is in the late 80s and all throughout the 90s and early 2000s. The 90s was the best because there was so many legendary country singers that were on fire during that decade. And I was able to see alot of them in concert. Including George Straight, Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn, Vince Gill, Alabama, Travis Tritt and other artists from other genres. Thankfully I come from a family of musicians so we were all really big about going to alot of concerts. We had alot of fun and I have those precious memories to look back on now. Your a little late to the party but I'm glad your discovering alot of these singers and their hit music now. Better late than never I always say. I love your channel and I'm enjoying this journey with you. I hope you dive into more country singers and their hit songs from the 90s. I just like country music better than. I've heard others say the same and said it sounded more country and the lyrics and ballads were so much better and sweeter. I mean there are some new artists and songs that's come out in the past 10 or 15 years but they cannot beat the legends from the 90s or even before then. And country music has changed alot and its not for the better in some cases. My husband cannot stand any country musoc at all from today. He gets super annoyed if he hears it. But put on 90s country and he's ok. Lol I'm atleast a little more open minded but I get it. Today's country is like the generic Walmart brand of 90s country. Lol
George has been married to his high school sweetheart since 1971. He is the King of Country Music and just a dang good man. I have seen him in concert more times than I can count and I was never disappointed.
The guy that wrote this went to Manning Elementary School in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Not sure it's true. But, going to that school was his inspiration for it. Written by Dana Hunt/Danny Wells.
He is one of the best country singer around today he is called the King of country. That was at Texas Stadium standing room only This was his last retirement show but he has came back out kinda semi-retired. He puts on one heck of a show. If you get a chance watch Pure Country he plays the lead roll Dusty
I saw George Strait in concert 4 times in the 1990s around Southern California. This is one of my very favorite George Strait songs. He did retired from concert touring 10 years ago, but still appears in concert at 70 years old sometimes. You need to react to "Amarillo By Mornin'" probably his best known hit which is from the 1980s.
Yes, Pretty, George Strait is a legend and did indeed retire so I am guessing that that was the finale. I can also tell you that he was introduced by another legend, the voice of WSM, Country Music's flagship station from Nashville, Tennessee, Mister Eddie Stubbs, who also recently retired. It is also of note that with three days to go (birthday in three days), Mr. Stubbs was born in '61 and his current age is 61. Thank you for sharing this with us as I have never seen it until now ❤
This was George last tour concert! But he has done shows here and there since this time! He said he wanted to spend more time with his family and on his ranch here in Texas!
I had the pleasure of meeting Norma and George Strait. I loved in San Antonio and my son went to school at their Church. First Baptist in San Antonio. It wasn't too long after their daughter died in a car accident. So sad just a teenager. They're both very loving humble and generous🎉
Yes George has been married to same woman for 50 plus years. Check out his song "Baby Blue". His daughter passed away at 15 or 16 from a car wreck. Its his homage to his daughter and rarely discusses it during interviews. His son Bubba began co-writing as well
💙🎼💙 .. Country Music from some years ago puts smiles on people's faces .. and yours is beautiful Britt. This is why I love Country Music .... . 🤍🤍🤍🌎🤍🤍🤍
Britt, I just recently subscribed to your channel. you are so cute. Glad you reacted to a George Strait song. I highly recommend you watch the movie Pure Country. it tells the story of a singer who uses lights and smoke as he was told to do. But he gets tired of it and at the end settles down for a no thrills, no frills concert like how he really performs. I also recommend the song Living and Living Well. Thanks Britt
This song is one of the very many that I love because it reminds me of my husband and myself relationship. We met in fourth grade the bus rock got split. Then we met again when I was a freshman and he was a sophomore when he graduated 1977 we got married June that year, and this year will be married 47 years he’s my one, and only just like this song and it always reminds me of our relationship and I love it dearly.
This was his farewell tour and I was so blessed my oldest daughter got me and my husband tickets to him in on this farewell tour in Chicago Vince Gill opened for him and it was a magical time.
Omg I remember this song as a kid. I grew up so diverse in music. The original video I think was cute. Wow there were such amazing country songs then. Our play list went from this to Ricky Martin lol
FOUND THIS - Fans of George Strait will have six major opportunities to see the King of Country live in 2023, alongside one of the country's most respected and beloved musicians, Chris Stapleton, for one-off stadium dates in Phoenix, Seattle, Denver, Milwaukee, Nashville and Tampa.Oct 24, 2022
I married my best friend in 1995, which I met in the third grade in 1972. Yes, we sat next to each other in class. We celebrate our wedding anniversary and our meeting. This next year will be our 29/52nd. This song is one of our favorites.
Hi Britt, can only say 1 thing, George strait lol tyvm, oh that's from cowboy rides away final tour, which wasn't final tour lol, yes loved a revolving stage, please watch his movie "pure country"🙏🙏, you will get to know the real young George, and this is about his wife as was told? The manager of Elvis Presley compared George Strait as the next Elvis Presley which if you do your research he practically is he's got more fans and been married to his high school sweetheart since he's school days were over they have gone through tragedy of losing their daughter and a young age and still they thrived in life Best singer out there these days

He is the King of Country music…
Me and my husband met when we were 7 years old, we used to do this! He chased me around the playground, pulled my hair, passed notes!

He just set the record for the highest attendance for a ticketed concert in American history. 110 thousand, at 70+ years old.
Yes! Thank you for no filter on King George!
Great artist
All hail King George!
.
It's a little known fact, but he sings and plays both kinds of music...
... Country AND Western!
Damn!! How miss real country music.
George is a legend, this song is adorable and just makes you feel good. The only complaint I have about his songs, a lot of them are too short.
Hey Britt, Love your reactions and the energy you put out in the world. Keep up the grind. Wishing you all the best.

George is semi retired... Not actively touring, but still makes appearances.

This is literally my grade-school, elementary, and somewhat junior high experience. Peace, Love!!
Great reaction!!
This is based off of a true story and in one of his videos it has a couple in the first row that the song is about
Check out Charlie Pride - Kiss an angel good morning

My favorite line is "I think this is how love goes..." She's just taking a stab at it but brave enough to take the bull by the horns! Love it!
Dang- first time I’m hearing this song 😮 soooo good! Thank you 🙏
Britt, you will love The Fireman by George Strait!!
