One of my MANY favorites by King George. George is semi-retired and the great Alan Jackson has been sidelined by health issues. We are grateful for the country music contribution of both of these men. God bless.
This was George Straits first big hit in 1982, he has been at the top of country music for 41 years. If you can, play "Troubadour" it's a song about his singing career.
Actually, Alan is from Georgia. He is a member of country music's "Class of '89"... One of 5 new country artists that made their first chart hits in 1989, that came to dominate country music, and not only dominated the '90s, but also changed country music forever, not only in how it can be played, but they also proved that they can be a commercial success as well... A country artist filling an entire arena was unthinkable before they came along, and common place ever since. The members of the "Class of '89" with a few examples of their songs are : Alan Jackson - "Chattahoochee", "Remember When", "Sissy's Song", "Where Were You..." Clint Black - "Better Man", "Killin' Time", "Walking Away", "Nobody's Home", "Nothin' But the Taillights" Travis Tritt - "Anymore", "Best of Intentions", "Help Me Hold On", "Here's a Quarter", "T.R.O.U.B.L.E." Garth Brooks - "The Dance", "Thunder Rolls", "Friends in Low Places", "If Tomorrow Never Comes" Mary Chapin Carpenter - "He Thinks He'll Keep Her", "I Feel Lucky", "Shut Up and Kiss Me" The "Class of '89" were so successful, that all the labels began copying them, with other artists, and soon there were countless clones of each of them, which saturated the market, and people started to get bored, and all but two of the five suffered career slumps because of it. Alan was one of the two who stayed on top into the 2000s and beyond. The other one who didn't take a hit was Garth Brooks, who stands as THE most selling solo artist in United States history, of ANY GENRE. He is second overall in that category ONLY to the Beatles, and Garth is in striking distance to knock them off their throne too. In case your wondering... Elvis holds the number 3 spot, overall, right after Garth. As for "King George"... With hits like "Baby Blue", or "The Chair", or "Run" or "The Fireman", or the ever popular "I Cross My Heart", from his movie, "Pure Country". George has accumulated over 60 number one hits throughout his career. "Amarillo by Morning" is one of those number one hits. George Strait always delivers a top notch performance. I have heard he is a very humble man too.
Those are two of the greatest to ever do it. Two legends on one stage. Country music will never be like that again. Alan Jackson is an amazing singer and song writer. He can sing anything and make it sound good. You should listen to more of him.
That thing Alan Jackson said at the end about needing a fiddle in the band if you're playing in Texas is a song by another great country artist called Alabama. They're song was called "If You're Gonna Play In Texas (You Gotta Have A Fiddle In The Band)." I suggest checking them out, as well. Keep up the great reactions.
He has sold over 130 million records world wide with over 40 #1 hits.... best selling Country artist but also one of the best of all music... Certainly the king of country. Very smooth.
George actually has 60 number 1 hits, but he is not the best seller in country music... Garth Brooks has that honor. Garth not only has the most sales in country music, he is second place overall sales of any genre, not Just Country. Only the Beatles have more sales then Garth, at least in the United States. That said... While I do love Garth... I still consider George Strait to be the King of country music. George does, after all, have considerably more number 1 hits then Garth does. That is a statement of its own.
Alan and George collaborated on a song about the "death" of country music called "Murder On Music Row". This piece is one of my favorite King George songs.
My first time hearing Alan Jackson perform this with him. They both did a few great songs called "Murder on Music Row" and "Designated Drinker". George Jones also recorded a cover of "Murder on Music Row". And Alan Jackson recorded a song with George Jones called "A Good Year for the Roses".
I think this was one of George's final TV concerts where many other artists joined him for different songs! We have George on tape, vinyl, & RUclips - we will have him forever!!! George's voice is that by which all wanna-be country artist are measured!!! One has t o do George's songs & do him proud!!!
Two Country Legends together. Would occasionally traveled from California back to Texas. All I needed was coffee and 4 cassettes, back in 80s, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Clint Black and Travis Tritt. Thanks for the reaction
He's called King George for a reason, over 60 number one hits. Alan Jackson is also a country legend. I would suggest reacting to Alan's song Remember When, a beautiful love song written to his wife. You can pick a song from either and they'll be fantastic though.
Yeah, George Strait is literally one of the biggest musicians of all time. Over 100M records sold, 61 Number 1 Hits, a career spanning 45 years and over 200 awards won, among them several grammy's. Absolute legend
Hi Britt. That song was a huge hit for George Strait. He has had lots of them. George has had over 60 #1 records. That's more than anyone in any genre I believe. Alan has had a great career as well. The stage was revolving. George's concerts nowadays are almost always in stadiums. Only places big enough for the crowds he draws. He has been "officially retired" 3 times now I think. Alan is still performing too, but he mostly does his shows sitting on a stool nowadays. He was diagnosed with some kind of neurological issue which makes it hard for him to stand for long periods. Two of the best voices and best entertainers in the biz. I am sending along a link to these 2 guys singing together at an award show. Doing a song about how Country music has been murdered by the "new country". Great song. Hope you like it. ruclips.net/video/NK1Vrur_ewM/видео.html
These two sit at the top of the OG's list! Some songs to listen to from George Strait - The fireman. Troubadour. The chair. Ocean front property. Check yes or no. All My ex's live in Texas. The seashores of Old Mexico. Alan Jackson - Chattahoochee. Livin on Love. Little bitty. Small town southern man. Drive. It's 5 o'clock somewhere. And be ready for the tears with one - Where were you. This is iust a small drop in the bucket for both of these gentlemen!
Love the little tribute comment to Alabama there at the end, that was way cool!! Always love me some George! And throw Alan in the mix, country perfection
Alan Jackson was my first favorite artist, since I was about 4 years old in the mid 90's.. At that age, I spend all day in an empty car shop with my dad, insanely bored out of my mind. And the highlight of my day was when Alan Jackson's "Chattahoochee" came on the radio, as well as George Strait's "Carrying Your Love with Me". Those are the first two songs that I can recall loving and memorizing. Alan Jackson is on my Mount Rushmore of favorite artists, along with George Jones, Hank Williams Sr, and Hank Williams Jr.. All of them have a huge catalog of hits that span decades. They're my go-to, and I'll never tire of hearing their songs.
I can't ever watch in the morning , but always check out something in the evening from your channel . Your reactions are truly so cool , just love your style and smile . Thanks from FL ..
Great song, great reaction! I can't add anything to what already has been said about George he is a legend! Alan Jackson is no slouch either. He is one of my favorites. If you haven't already you should check him out. ( He's from Georgia!) Some of my favoites Where Were You, Remember When, Drive, She's Gone Country, Chattahoochee and so many more.☺
George Strait is a Class Act. Tons of hits, married to his wife for decades and no scandals in the news. Back in the 80s, I got his autograph standing on the steps of his bus at midnight. Long live King George.
I love this.. my favorite King George song... never made it to #1.. only #2.. but that he's singing it with Alan... wow... and the best fiddle playing. Alan Jackson is country royalty also... this is amazing
This was an original hit by George Strait back in the 80's. It's widely considered on of the top songs in country music along with George Jones' "He Stopped Loving Her Today", Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man", and a little duet from Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings called "Mommas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys". Alan Jackson hasn't been around as long as George Strait, but he is no less the legend. He is probably most well known for the song "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning", a song he wrote about his emotions and experience after the tragedy on September 11, 2001. Only a few key knew about the song when he sang it live on November 7, 2001 at the Country Music Association's awards ceremony. You should definitely react to that song, that version... at the time he performed it, very few people were able to hold back the tears.
Oh my! You are just too cute! Love watching your reactions! Now you understand why we call him "King George". He's considered the King of Country music. 🤴
Want to know that you would absolutely love is called, am I blue? It is such a tight up-tempo swing thing that is pristine, and the Fidelity is through the roof and his voice is in full effect. But for humor, which he has tons of it, you should check out probably his biggest hit, which was, All My Exes Live in Texas, laugh.
You said you like stories, so I have one for you. When my best friend from Jr. High got married right out of high school, the band knew a total of about 4 songs and this was one of them. They played it on repeat at least 15 times that night. I got to dance with a cute groomsman. :D
King George!! I was blessed to see him live twice and he is so amazing, just as good live as in studio. Alan is great too but George is the best and thats why they call him the King of Country
You're looking at the current royalty of Country music. King George Strait has amassed over 60 number one hits across almost 5 decades! He was artist of the decade, on top of being entertainer of multiple years, he is in the Country Music Hall of Fame, he is 3rd in terms of number of gold and platinum records, behind Elvis and The Beetles, and is #1 in terms of total singles and even set a world record for that achievement! So he definitely is The King of Country Music! All of his early songs were part of the soundtrack of my childhood, and a lot of my memories were because of this song in particular. He's smooth as hell though, which is why you gotta react to "The Chair" by George Strait. You'll see! As for Alan Jackson, who has the best first name anyone can have, he's probably going to be the next one to be considered the king, although personally, I think Garth Brooks might give him a run for the money, and they both got big around the same time. The line I love in this song is, "I ain't got a dime, but what I got is mine, I ain't rich, but Lord I'm free." If only things could be that simple to have nothing, but be free to do anything with nothing tying you down or holding you back, and pursuing that which you love!
I first heard george strait on smooth country here in the uk back in august this year the song was one night at a time i liked it that much my wife and i had it playing why we were signing the register at our wedding. Now i have 8 of his albums and the cowboy rides away tour on dvd which is what your reacting to there.
Cool trivia about Alan Jackson and George Jones: During the 1999 CMA Awards, George Jones was supposed to open the show singing a great song of his called "Choices". They wanted George to shorten his song down, but he refused, and instead ended up boycotting the CMA's. So the CMA's got Alan Jackson to open the show instead, performing his hit cover at the time called "Pop A Top".. After the solos in that song, the band stopped and they started playing the chorus to George Jones' song called "Choices". He got a huge reaction from the crowd, filled with other artists that were aware of the situation and the gesture. After they finished, Alan and his band immediately left the stage, got on their bus, and left the CMA Award show. Alan Jackson appeared on an old country talk show on TNT, and talked a little about why he did it. The host had George Jones call in and briefly talk to Alan on the show. Both of those videos are on RUclips.. All you have to do is search "Alan Jackson Choices," and you should immediately find a 2 minute and 51 second video of Alan's performance on the CMA's labeled "Alan Jackson - Pop A Top/Choices" uploaded by KSWheels. And then you should be able to find a 3 minute 10 second video of Alan's interview labeled "Alan Jackson gets praises from George Jones" uploaded by MsKirbmeister. I highly recommend those.. Didn't want to have to explain it, especially at such length, partially out of fear of it not being read or considered. But it's likely that a newbie wouldn't understand the significance of that CMA performance without an explanation.
Love George, absolutely love Alan! Alan wrote almost all of his own songs! The thing about George and Alan is they're both so relatable! Alan is from Newnan, GA hometown man! George is from Texas! You need a week of just them two!
Alan Jackson is from Newnan, GA nearby Atlanta. He has a bad limp now due to inherited degenerative nerve condition from what I understand. His dad and one of his sisters were eventually regulated to a wheel chair. What a talent both are. So many great songs by both of those two. I would not know which songs to recommend.
Girl, you are discovering the King of Country…George Strait! A very deep rabbit hole! Highly recommend: George Strait and Miranda Lambert: How About them Cowgirls/Run (live from this concert) Powerful live performance and a great story!
Long ago, in another life, I had coffee in a small diner with George Strait and Chris LeDoux. We knew who they were but didn't get star struck. They sat and talked rodeo with us for a bit then left. Super nice guys.
George Strait isn't called the King of Country for no reason. 61 #1 hits and many more that were top ten. "the chair" "carried away" 'good at good bye" "blue clear sky" 'you look so good in love" Leave you with a smile" "troubadour" 'write this down" "check yes or no" "best days" "wrapped" "I cross my heart" 'the cowboy rides away" the list goes on and on. Allan Jackson is amazing as will. songs like remember when, living on love, chattahochee, small town southern man, where were you, 5 o'clock somewhere
Please oh please do George Strait's The Chair and Alan Jackson's Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning and speaking on what he said last, that is in reference to an Alabama song. Another fantastic group with a big catalogue of songs, my faves are Dixieland and Roll On 18 Wheeler! Happy Reacting! 🥰
Also, Love the shout out to the country band, Alabama at the end... They had a hit in the early '80s... "If Your Gonna Play in Texas, You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band"... By far not their only hit either. Check them out. Amazing group.
You definitely need to go down the George Strait rabbit hole. Then the Alan Jackson rabbit hole. The 2 best to ever do it. They both have songs that’ll bring a tear to your eye and songs that’ll make you smile and have a good time
Authentic country at its finest from two of the best to ever do it. I appreciate older country music so much more now than I used to. There’s an authenticity to it that seems to be sorely lacking in that genre these days.
The line where he says " I ll be looking for 8 when they pull that gate, I hope that judge ain't blind" means the cowboy needs to stay on the bull for 8 seconds to be scored by the judge. In case u didn't know
Fantastic reaction and now that you can differentiate the younger Alan Jackson star from the older George Strait smooth vocal star, I know you would totally dig and laugh your ass off at some more of the George Strait humorous songs, unlike this one which is quite serious. Here are a couple things that I bet you would love from George Strait ... Fireman All My Exes Live in Texas. The Chair Arizona And the thing is, it's all top-caliber musicianship man his voice especially when he was young was just astonishing. And he always had the best band around him. And for Alan Jackson, he has so many great songs, but one that I bet you would get a huge kick out of his a sad song that is so well done, and it's called, here in the real world. And the music video that goes with it is fantastic so I would check that out as opposed to the live version. And then there is the absolutely monster hit and deservedly so, Chattahoochee, and of course songs like I'm going to get me a Mercury and drive it up down the road.
This was two great performer's great voice's for country music, I would like to request a song by Alan Jackson, called "WHO SAY'S YOU CAN'T HAVE IT ALL" another great country song
Well, you've gone from the King of Rock and Roll to the King of country music. George Strait is awesome, give a listen to "How 'Bout Them Cowgirls" with Miranda Lambert from this same show. And yeah, that's the Astrodome and yes the stage is moving.
King George has 60 number 1 hits. One of the most respected singers around. You need a George Strait week!
More like a month or more
This is George's song and no one does it better. Outstanding voice, great choice of songs , great band. This is real country.
One of my MANY favorites by King George. George is semi-retired and the great Alan Jackson has been sidelined by health issues. We are grateful for the country music contribution of both of these men. God bless.
Got to agree with you there
Yessir. Amen!
Absolutely
George strait, Alan jackson and Brad paisley are my favourites.
This was George Straits first big hit in 1982, he has been at the top of country music for 41 years. If you can, play "Troubadour" it's a song about his singing career.
George's first hit was Unwound 1981
Love me some George. And yes the stage rotates. Was lucky enuf to see him many times at Houston rodro.
The members of the "Class of '89" with a few examples of their songs are :
Alan Jackson - "Chattahoochee", "Remember When", "Sissy's Song", "Where Were You..."
Clint Black - "Better Man", "Killin' Time", "Walking Away", "Nobody's Home", "Nothin' But the Taillights"
Travis Tritt - "Anymore", "Best of Intentions", "Help Me Hold On", "Here's a Quarter", "T.R.O.U.B.L.E."
Garth Brooks - "The Dance", "Thunder Rolls", "Friends in Low Places", "If Tomorrow Never Comes"
Mary Chapin Carpenter - "He Thinks He'll Keep Her", "I Feel Lucky", "Shut Up and Kiss Me"
The "Class of '89" were so successful, that all the labels began copying them, with other artists, and soon there were countless clones of each of them, which saturated the market, and people started to get bored, and all but two of the five suffered career slumps because of it.
Alan was one of the two who stayed on top into the 2000s and beyond. The other one who didn't take a hit was Garth Brooks, who stands as THE most selling solo artist in United States history, of ANY GENRE. I love Alan's two songs, and get a kick out of both: (Itty Bitty & Tall-Tall Trees!)
Two of my all time favorites
George Strait is one of my all time faves. Love Alan too! This is a George Strait hit, but like Alan joining him.

It's actually 60 number 1 hits
Alan and George collaborated on a song about the "death" of country music called "Murder On Music Row".
This piece is one of my favorite King George songs.
George's "Check Yes or No" is a sweet, heartfelt song and Alan's "Remember When" is one of the best love songs of all time, IMHO.

I am so in love with George Strait
King George! :)
He has 60 (!) Country-Number-One-Hits on his list.
George and Alan had a Hit-Song called "Murder on Music Row" in 2000.
2 perfect country singers.. respect.
George Strait has 61 #1 hits in country music. You should also check out Alan's song Where We're You. He wrote it about 9/11.
This may sound wrong to say but I love that song it touches somewhere deep inside that instantly makes you crumble
@@smokeyjoeDingDongExores agree 💯%
Going to see George Strait and Chris Stapleton together at Nissan Stadium in July and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!
I absolutely love that you're enjoying beautiful heart felt music luv.
Yeah, George Strait is literally one of the biggest musicians of all time. Over 100M records sold, 61 Number 1 Hits, a career spanning 45 years and over 200 awards won, among them several grammy's. Absolute legend

King George is the best, this song is from the early 80s, first of many many number one hits by George Strait. George Strait is a L E G E N D
Hi Ms. Britt, This is the good old style Country.. In the 70's & 80's and later most of the
ladies fell in love with Mr. Alan.. ♠W.G.
Definitely need to dive into the rabbit hole of George Strait.
He is the King of country.
Love the little tribute comment to Alabama there at the end, that was way cool!! Always love me some George! And throw Alan in the mix, country perfection

George's fiddle player gives me chills. I cry everytime he plays when I am at a concert
Forever etched in my mind is waking up to this song during HS years...WCOS in Columbia SC...tear comes to my eye every time I hear it...
Alan and George are good friends.
This is probably my most favorite of your reviews, plus, I absolutely love this song.
George Strait is a Class Act. Tons of hits, married to his wife for decades and no scandals in the news. Back in the 80s, I got his autograph standing on the steps of his bus at midnight. Long live King George.
George has a zillion songs, and this is still one of the best ones to me.
Brought me to tears...not my first time either. Love them both.
Another very popular video - song Alan Jackson's "It's 5 o'clock somewhere." I watch it every Friday to get my spirit right for the weekend.
I love this.. my favorite King George song... never made it to #1.. only #2.. but that he's singing it with Alan... wow... and the best fiddle playing. Alan Jackson is country royalty also... this is amazing
Thanks,I went to most of their concerts, good 👍 music
Do more George Strait.. he is king
Love both men absolutely great voices but also high integrity
The king of country. He is such a handsome man. When he was younger man whoooweee
George's voice is smooth like melted butter
This song always gives my chills.
These two were breaking in their boots around the same time back in the eighties. Mountain of material from these two.
This song and the chair are my favorite George Strait songs
This was an original hit by George Strait back in the 80's. It's widely considered on of the top songs in country music along with George Jones' "He Stopped Loving Her Today", Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man", and a little duet from Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings called "Mommas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys".

Oh my! You are just too cute! Love watching your reactions!
Now you understand why we call him "King George". He's considered the King of Country music. 🤴
Love listening to your reactions
Britt you yourself, your so sweet and the way you get into the music

George Strait is a very, very deep rabbit hole to dive into. He has over 50 #1 hits
I never listen to country music, but this song is fantastic. His voice is so melodious.
I would suggest The Chair by George Strait. Almost any song by George or Alan you will probably like. Have a great day.
He's known as King George for a reason.
George Strait was the King of Country in the 80's. His first album came out in 1981, and he's had 60, (YES 60), #1 songs since.
Love George Strait. Sounds good with Alan joining in.
George has the most number one hits of of any artist of in the history of music of all genre with over 60 number one hits!!
King George!! I was blessed to see him live twice and he is so amazing, just as good live as in studio. Alan is great too but George is the best and thats why they call him the King of Country

King George! He's the man
"I can still make Cheyenne" is another good song from George. He was born in Texas and is a true country legend and superstar!!
You have found King George. He is the King of Country music. Well worth checking him out. Alan Jackson is worth a deep dive too. Enjoy the journey❤❤❤
Girl, you are discovering the King of Country…George Strait! A very deep rabbit hole!
Highly recommend: George Strait and Miranda Lambert: How About them Cowgirls/Run (live from this concert)
Powerful live performance and a great story!
That’s why George is the King of country… their best duet is Murder On Music Row… an appropriate song on the state of todays country music
You need to listen to the song that George and Alan did together called, Murder on Music Row.
Britt u know good music I love country music all my life great channal
Another great song by King George is "I Can Still Make Cheyenne". It has a great story.
Long ago, in another life, I had coffee in a small diner with George Strait and Chris LeDoux. We knew who they were but didn't get star struck. They sat and talked rodeo with us for a bit then left. Super nice guys.
Don’t matter what music you like or what colors you are, this is a great song. Soothing, sexy, everything.♥️
The Two greatest country singers alive (and Willie of course) and two of the best of all time.
As a Texan I just would like to say Alan Jackson is the best thing that ever came out of Georgia.
George is considered the king of country music ,but Alan will always be my Favorite.
I'd recommend his song Remember When. It's the story of his life.
George in the black hit and Alan in the white hat. Oh Sooooooo Good!
George straight is king of country.
Here's a bit of trivia. George Strait's idol was Lefty Frizzell. Allen Jackson's idol was George Jones. George Jones's idol was Lefty Frizzell.
In case u didn't know
Legit reaction
Hey can you please stay on George and Alan and just ride them for as long as you can they’re both HUGE and deserve a whole channel for their reactions
Fireman
All My Exes Live in Texas.
The Chair
Arizona
And the thing is, it's all top-caliber musicianship man his voice especially when he was young was just astonishing.
The 2 kings of country it don't get no better
