Saw George Straight in 2015 at the super dome in New Orleans. My number one of all time that I wanted to see live. He stood center stage for 2 and a half hours with his guitar and sang everyone's favorite songs. He did that in his late 60s no breaks. That's why he is the king and also the goat
Absolutely...if you dive in into George Strait ... you ain't coming out again. Hit after hit. All dripping with Americana. For Country ... he is THE guy. I first got exposed to him 40 years ago in Texas ... I was onboard ever since
George Strait if definitely called the King of Country. Garth is totally different.. I've seen them both in concert.. Garth is an entertainer.. George is just KING George.. Alan Jackson is up there too.. in the late 80's and 90's these guys ruled.. but my Pop-Pop raised me on old country.. I love it all... I don't truly think I could ever pick a favorite. Just blessed to have seen many in concert and love them all.. and let's not forget about the amazing WOMEN of country music..
King George has also been around the longest, so both he & Garth are GOAT's. Geroge has over 60 #1hit singles & is still recording & touring. I love one he did years after this one, called 'Troubadour' (A traveling entertainer/poet). The song is great & the video is cool, cuz he is reflecting on his life & it has clips of his career & also from his rodeo days.
Garth Brooks is a great entertainer, but George Strait is the GOAT and the King; 60+ #1 hits! And he's a decent guy. Married his high school sweetheart in 1971, and they are still together. I can't think of any sort of scandal ever associated with George.
Bro made a particularly good comment at 6:40 -- old country and old r&b/soul are closer than some might think. Two sides of the same coin. The big common component is HONESTY --- keeping it real.
A few other artist to get a start with are : Alabama , Randy Travis , George Jones to name just a few. For a very long time until Randy Travis started performing ; John Denver had been my all time favortie country male artist.
Might checkout the music of country artist, Bryan White. He was pretty big in the 90s. He was the perfect blend of country, pop, and R&B. Highly recommend his songs: Someone Else’s Star, Rebecca Lynn, I’m Not Supposed to Love You Anymore, So Much for Pretending, Love is the Right Place, You’re Still Beautiful to Me, Sittin’ on Go, Look At Me Now, and That’s Another Song. Also, his duet with Shania Twain on From This Moment On is amazing.
One of garth main inspirations for being a country artist is george strait. George is king because he has the most number 1 hits. Well, him and Chris ladoux. Chris was inspiration for his stage shows.
Hey guys Check Keith Whitley Don't Close your eyes. Keith is another country musician lost way too soon and has that voice like George Strait has that baritone voice but has that serenading voice. Always wondered how Keith Whitley career would have been if he hadn't passed away from alcohol poisoning.
Rizz.. from charisma. Do you love me.. bold line, but with the following line also showing the innocence of the age. You wouldn't usually follow "Do you love me" with "Do you wanna be my friend"
Before he handed her the note, before they ever got in the limo he said "Now we're grown up and she's my wife". Y'all really gotta pull up the lyrics 🤣
It could be debated between a few artists as the King of Country. Voice control has to go to Dwight. Being a performer and just sheer sales is Garth. No.1 hits is Strait. And, I very truly believe, if Keith Whitley hadn’t literally drank himself to death, we would be talking about him too.
This is such a sweet and cute song! I absolutely love it!
Dude couldn't have proposed at the concert... it already happened. Earlier in the song he says, "now we're grown up and she's my wife"

Absolutely the King of country. 61 #1 hits. Obviously a very deep catalog
You definitely need to do a deep dive into George Strait. He is definitely the King of Country for a reason.
Absolutely...if you dive in into George Strait ... you ain't coming out again. Hit after hit. All dripping with Americana. For Country ... he is THE guy. I first got exposed to him 40 years ago in Texas ... I was onboard ever since
That's like a suicide request ... you go down the George Strait rabbit hole ... you're never coming out
She is such a keeper, the classic country sing along is the icing.
Most kings wear crowns but only one wears a cowboy hat...Long live king George!!

George will be 72 in May and he still looks great and sounds great. He's one of our state treasures. George is married to his high school sweetheart.

If you'd like to keep exploring country a suggestion...Brooks and Dunn's "Believe"; a heartfelt story with a powerful vocal from Ronnie Dunn.
George is the king of country. Elvis was the goat of entertaining.

I know I’m late but he’s the ONLY artist with 60 #1 hits for a reason, such a talented artist
Love King George! Should check out his song “If I Know Me”
Bro made a particularly good comment at 6:40 -- old country and old r&b/soul are closer than some might think. Two sides of the same coin. The big common component is HONESTY --- keeping it real.

A few other artist to get a start with are : Alabama , Randy Travis , George Jones to name just a few. For a very long time until Randy Travis started performing ; John Denver had been my all time favortie country male artist.
This song was written about the writer's times at Manning Elementary School in Roanoke Rapids N C.
Took my wife to his country music festival in 98'. I turned a rocker into a country fan.
Garth has even said that George is his idol and he is the reason why he sings country music. He has said that George is the king of country music
80’s-early 2000’s country is all about the video! The video supplements the song
Might checkout the music of country artist, Bryan White. He was pretty big in the 90s. He was the perfect blend of country, pop, and R&B. Hey guys Check Keith Whitley Don't Close your eyes. Keith is another country musician lost way too soon and has that voice like George Strait has that baritone voice but has that serenading voice. Rizz.. from charisma.
7:00 I understand what he's saying, you have to listen to different music in a different way.
"If it's Taylor Swift and Love Story" 😂 We need to be besties
Garth is back touring. He has a Vegas residency now!
George Jones the king! George is awesome as well!
It could be debated between a few artists as the King of Country. Voice control has to go to Dwight. Being a performer and just sheer sales is Garth. No.1 hits is Strait. And, I very truly believe, if Keith Whitley hadn’t literally drank himself to death, we would be talking about him too.
Please please react to George Strait "The Chair". Hands down his best song
You guys should check out some Elvis Presley. He’s a great performer and has a beautiful voice.
" I like razz" *blank stare*
they are already married remember he said now we're grown up and shes my wife
King George is the GOAT!
Check out "Don't take the girl."
He tells you it was 3rd Grade. It's not a proposal because he told you they've been married 20 years./
Or "The Weight of the Badge"
🤠🔥🤠
George Strait had 60 #1 hits KING GEORGE
You should listen to Blake Shelton, "Gods Country"..Maybe some Journey and Alice in Chains too.
Second "God's Country".
He probably had to rescue it from the trash because the teacher took it!
That is probably true
Can you please please please react to Harry Mack OB 28? It’s my favorite and is absolutely slept on. I would really appreciated it! ❤️
Added!
Rizz is called rizz because it’s short for charisma 👌
The song said they been married 20 years ago.
Who please. Need a Garth Brooks Nora George strait are like LeBron. Neither of them have ever flopped!
Rizz comes from someone too lazy to say charisma. You got to love our language always changing.
Gotta fo onto Conway Twitty. DON'T CRY JONI with his daughter. And ONLY THE SHADOWS KNOW. Unfortunately does not have a video but is a great love song
Checkout Alan Jackson - Remember When. Alan Jackson is the king of country in my eyes, he wrote almost all of his hits.
One of the greatest songs of love and remembrance of all time, and a wonderful video.
Tim McGraw - Dont take the girl...
Did you listen? They have been married and have you kept a piece of paper for 20 years and it stayed perfect? NOT retired.
Nobody can come close to George strait
Randy Travis is the King Goat
I get how you could say Garth is the goat performer… but Michael Jackson existed
They’re already married.
Johnny Cash is the GOAT
Lets be honest.... George Strait is not The king of country music or the goat of country music....He is both....just saying
This song is cute. If you want great try his song, “I saw GOD today.”
i like raz better haha
Garth can't carry George's guitar pick!😀
When it comes to being the goat in country music Garth Brooks doesn't hold a candle to George Strait.
