    Seems like a great machine but, I thought the same thing about the 330MPX before I bought one. I tried to fall in love with it for a month and finally had my Lincoln rep take it back and exchange it for a new 305G EFI. The 330MPX was the biggest piece of crap I’ve ever owned due to the lack of engineering. The tray that the engine is mounted in forces the oil drain hose to climb up one inch therefore, never allowing you to completely drain the oil. You have to remove the hood every 500 hours just to replace the spark plugs and the elbow on the exhaust is welded to the muffler so it can’t be rotated so it only points to the rear. Also, it would get ridiculously hot (like 800*F at the exhaust pipes). What Lincoln doesn’t tell you until you’ve bought it and read the owner’s manual is that the machine requires 18” of clearance ALL the way around it in order to circulate enough air for cooling. What was the point of making it so small when it requires so much space around it?!

    Why would Lincoln make this machine with 40CFM of air output and *not* rate it for arc gouging?? Like honestly wtf.

    Love the videos! Could you do the Maverick 325x Lincoln diesel. I would love to see that. Could you compare it to the 325 trailblazer Miller diesel

    i been looking to replace my airpak with one of these. but after this video i think i will stick to the miller. the only reason being is the miller can be serviced from one side.

    So should that one not be used for arc gouging? I know the 330mpx can be used for gouging. I also know the Miller bobcats are a similar size as this one and they do not gouge well and the windings burn up when used for gouging where as the trailblazer is the same as the 330 and is wound differently to withstand gouging.

      @BakersGas  8 месяцев назад

      Unfortunately it can not arc gouge at this time

    with the spool gun feature, is there an inlet to hook up an Argon bottle or how does that work?
    also, my current 330 mpx tends to not stay in idle mode when not under load. any idea as to what this could be?
    and is the fuel tank bigger on this model compared to previous mpx models?

    How much longer in length are these compared to the regular 260 mpx

      The Lincoln Ranger Air 260MPX is a multi-function engine drive that is 26 x 20 x 48 in and regular 260 26 in x 20 in x 36 in

    Okay so I have a standard Lincoln Ranger 260MPX with a carb not fuel injected. I have two questions if you could please answer these for me:
    Can you somehow remove, delete, or wire around the "Low Idle Override" function when you first start the machine? This kicks in immediately after I start the machine cold. It is not good when the engine is really cold to go straight to hide idle and I hate that feature. I live in North Dakota so when I say cold, I mean cold. I would like to let it idle for 15 minutes at a dead idle at first.
    My second question pertains to this unit the 260 Air because I am interested in upgrading to this:
    It says in the specs section that it has variable throttle. Does that mean it will only idle up enough to cover the electrical load and stay there, or does it peg the throttle at any load? With my 260 MPX ANY electrical load AT ALL pegs the throttle on the engine. If you plug in a Dewalt battery charger and hook up a battery it pegs the engine until the battery is charged. That's ridiculous in my opinion. That big ass generator shouldn't even have to come close to high idle to put out that little bit of power. They keep claiming they're trying to reduce fuel consumption and they can't do any better than that???

    • @BakersGas
      @BakersGas  5 месяцев назад

      There is no work around on the low idle override. This is caused by the fuel cap not being vented. As far as the Ranger Air are you asking if it has variable speed?
