- Todays video is my 1 1/2HP John Lauson Frost King JR Cold Start. I have done a few short videos of this engine before but I recently went through the entire engine and cleaned it and did some work on it. runs great and looks great!
Hope you enjoy! - Авто/Мото
Nice job Avery! If i counted right that little motor is coasting about 36-38 revolutions between hits, thats pretty good for such a small engine!
..That's a neat old engine.. Thanks.
Lovely little engine
This is the best start up presentation you've ever done 👍👍🇺🇸
Back when stuff was made to work for more then a week. Damn that is a thing of beauty you have.
Wow!!! That is so cool!
Love it!
I was gonna comment on how fuel efficient it must be at idle until I saw the carb dripping more fuel out than the engines probably burning!
Really cool to see running, I like all the old engines with the mechanicals exposed and drip oiled. What was a common application for these? Just anything they could attach with a belt?
I've seen little engines like this running corn shellers and cream separators.
Long belt to water pump in a river I've seen
@@moconnell663 I'm going to get lost tonight looking all this stuff up! Thanks man :P
@@con3ooo Very cool, I would love to grab one of these and mess around. Maybe if I get some stuff wrapped up so my hobbies don't get out of control!
yep pretty much what ever you needed to turn that could have a flat belt pulley.
Do engines like this run on Coal oil?
I dont believe so they will run on kerosene if you get them hot but thats about it.
Tengo uno de ese modelo y me gustaría restaurarlo pero no tengo muy claro su funcionamiento y está con todas sus partes y no quiero dañarlo , necesito un poco de información de cómo funciona cada uno de sus piezas
This thing much literally run for a week on a gallon of fuel
I made your thumbs up thingy spirt! Bwaaahaaa
Why so long between hits
It's the governor. If the engine was under load it would hit as often as needed to keep up set speed. They did this instead of having a throttle valve.
