Rob is such a musical dude. Pretty much every single time we work together, Rob pulls something new out. It’s inspiring to see and hear someone constantly learning new stuff and growing.
Well you should know!
Can’t believe there’s only 63 comments one of the best informative and funniest videos love it. This guy is awesome. I like brett also.
Thanks for checking it out Mike!
Funny you mentioned Eliot Easton and Steve Stevens. I was speaking to my guitar teacher about those two one day and he called them the "kings of the in and out" soloists. Meaning they injected short solos where every note really meant something. A lot to be learned there.
Those two guys are amazing. Complete guitarists.
The solo on Tonight She Comes is one of my favorite ever 😀
@@karabinerstudios no kidding! it rocks
Your Rob McNelley videos are my faves. Watched them all many times.
Love having Rob by. He is one of my favorites to do videos with.
I love when Robs on so much knowledge and a great player. Always interesting
Yep agreed! Thanks for tuning in!
Always loving it when Rob gives up some of his time to us all, a pleasure to listen to, humble but super talented, thanks for all you share with us Brett, much appreciated brother
Sure thing! Thanks for tuning in!
Just an all around great show. Love the way he approaches the guitar. So creative.
Thanks for checking it out Tim!
Rob & Brett, great job. Always love hearing you play. Master of cool😊
Thanks for checking us out!
Rob has been so good for so long. The guy really caught my ear when he was playing with Delbert McClinton on that Senn Tele. Glad to see things really lighting up for him.
Yep agreed! Well deserved.
Love me some Bob Sugar haha! Anything Rob McNelley is pure gold. Thanks B. Papa for giving us this one!
Haha! Auto correct has a mind of its own! Thanks for tuning in!
I have studied all the nashville session greats, on my guitar journey....And although there all great.....Rob, is definitly the hook guy, my favorite....He knows what to add and where to add it.....He just hears motiffs in his head, i do too....I can tell he works the same way....Im no where near on his level.....Hes a seasoned hitmaker...Just bought a place outside Nashville, McNeely would be my choice to play on my record for sure....His playing is so soulful.....
Ahhh but Reggie Young… when country was country and made by people from the country.
Big Corgan vibes on that intro. Loved it!❤ these videos with Rob and Tom and Tim. Dude. Incredible series
Thanks man! Glad you like them!
Great vid Brett, glad I stumbled on this!
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for this Brett. Fascinating.
Sure thing! Thanks for checking it out!
Great playing and great Drum loop.
Really cool lesson, thank you!
Sure thing! Glad you liked it!
Thanks Brett, Rob is freakin awesome 😁
Sure thing!
Loved this; thanks!
Thanks for checking it out!
That opening jam was killer!
Glad ya liked it Blake!
Monster stuff gentlemen; awesomeness! 💪🎸🤟
Thank ya!
Great interview / playing !!!!
Thanks for checking it out!
Thank you... your helping us tune the instrument.... carry on!
Sure thing! Thanks for watching!
i like it's about the musicality, not play this note then this note....i think that's where us intermediate home players can get a lot of benefit, thanks man! also like he's noodling and getting ideas, that works for me but have been told to "hear" it first. that doesn't always work for me. I appreciate a talented musician validating I'm not totally alone in creating ideas. Really like this.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for checking it out!
Great session - thanks.
Sure thing! Thanks for watching!
Good episode . Thanks .
Sure thing! Thanks for watching!
What an ART !!!
For sure!
It’s refreshing to hear how intuitive and creative this one is. More art, song, feel, and less the technical theory. Of course, this approach is 1000x harder to teach and requires more exposure.
Thanks for checking it out!
I love Rob’s videos on his web page.
Yep they are great!
Rob is the hook master!
Yes he is!
Arranging. This is where multiple sets of ears help. Ideas, input, editing, dynamics
For sure. It is an art all its own!
Awesome video Brett! Appreciate you bringing such talented awesome players like Rob to the party! I expect you may know this.. but there are Nash T-63's out there with P-90's in the neck and reasonably priced. Saw one in Alder weighing in at 7lbs. 6 oz. Hope you're tempted!
Really!? Got to check that out!
@@BrettPapa I was avoiding links and stuff... Searching on it will reveal it. I'm with you, I love my Nash Guitars! My Tele has a P-90 in the neck, with a Humbucker in the bridge (Lollar's of course). Different, but I love it!
HEY, TRYING TO REACH ROB. GOING TO GIVE HIM A COOL FLASHBACK. IT'S 2 MONTHS AWAY FROM HIS 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS CD WITH ROB WALLETT. AMAZING ORIGIN ISSUE. FROM OCT. 1993. NEVER REALIZED HOW GREAT OF A PLAYER HE WAS EVEN BACK THEN. I SAW THEM EVERYTIME HE CAME TO LEXINGTON KY. HAVEN'T SEEN HIM SINCE. WONDERING IF HE EVER GOT HIS DAD'S GUITAR BACK? PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO HIM. MY NAME IS VIC CORNETT.
Great info
Thanks!
I've never heard or seen this guy before, but damn is he good!! Go to the 1:45 mark. My God that is some of the coolest runs I have ever seen.
Rob is a beast! One of the top Nashville session guitarists. Great dude as well!
Love your YTchannel, mr Brett‼️😋‼️🎶‼️😋🎵‼️😋‼️😋‼️but this one is very very very very Jamspirational‼️🎵❤😅❤🎶‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Thanks! Glad you liked the vid!
Great video, lots of knowledge dropped in an hour...
Also, Funktuation is an existing band out of India and the Bollywood scene...
Nice! All the good names are taken lol! Thanks for watching!
Nice version of the Home Depot theme.
Not sure I'ver ever heard that. I guess everyone needs some theme music these days lol!
I hope this is leading to a hook/songwriting course😊
Haha that would be great! Coming soon!
Space is the place
Yep
This dude’s playing has character. Mojo. Whatever you wanna call it.
For sure. That’s why everyone wants him on their records!
Great ideas for a hack like me to screw up thanks👍☮️
Lol!
the first jam is so Britpop
Haha I guess you might be right.
Repetitions are key here. No noodles.
They definitely help!
@@BrettPapa sounds very effective. Some great chops.
Love it. Rob should work a bit on his tone. Cant he just be human. The video with his Gold Top still freaks me out…
Lol! Yep Rob always has amazing tone!
BP VH
Haha I wish!
...it's sort of Nirvana with a country feel?
Yeah pretty much haha!
Garbage.
No, seriously I was hearing the Butch Vig band Garbage in that hook. 👌
Haha. Those guys know a thing or two about hooks as well!
Great video!
But turn down the rhythm guitar, and clean it up a bit! It drowns things out!
Hmmmm sounded fine over here. I'll check it out again.
@@BrettPapa It was fine...lol
What kind of amp head is that sitting on top of the Marshall? Great video man.
It's some kind of a Tumble style amp. I think someone here in Nashville makes them.

Awesome stuff. Play simple, play for the song. Gave me lots of food for thought!
Thanks for checking it out Jon!
