    PSA ⚠️ After removing factory installed cover, clean the threads of the holes on the slide completely before installing any plate/red dot. The crap they use to install the factory cover plate is crusty and will strip your mounting screws. Clean those holes! Trust me.

    I bought a metal plate from C-H that came with screws. The 407C Is now mounted solid as hell on my 4.6 10mm. I used one of the plastic shit plates that S&W provided and the Optic came flying off and hit me right in the forehead. The plastic plate literally snapped in half right down the screw hole line. I can’t believe the engineers at S&W really thought that a plastic plate would be able to handle the cyclical torque a 10mm slide produces. And I was the one dumb enough to use it. Live and learn.

    I'm a huge S&W M&P fan. I have more of their products than I dare to admit. They check all my boxes except for these issues. #1 Let's get some better packaging other than those cardboard boxes. Aside from my folding 9mm carbine and optic ready, threaded 2.0, everything else came in cardboard with no cases. #2 Provide tools for the appropriate tasks required to operate the product. There are no tools provided to remove the slide cover mount to install my red dot and the factory cover screws are so cheap that one of the heads stripped and I have to get additional tools to remove the stripped screw. I'll take my S&W firearms over their competitors any day, but my Sig and Canik firearms came with great packaging, tools and accessories. C'mon S&W step it up in these areas.

  • @lamoscapeluda
    @lamoscapeluda 2 года назад +6

    Smith and Wesson needs to do something about the cheap plastic adapter plates on the 10mm. The posts on them are not strong enough to hold back-and-forth movement of the red dot, thus putting all the pressure onto the mounting screws and shearing them off. I will not buy this pistol until this issue is fixed. Not only does it cause unreliability, but it can be a danger to the shooter when the dot flies off.

    This video is a joke, for me anyway.
    so... as an owner of the 5in FDE m2.0, purchased upon debut, there were no optic-ready options then. And now, it only appears certain models are available 'optics-ready', and full size or 5" only available as "law-enforcement only"??? Seriously? Why is it so F!!@#!! difficult to get a factory, optics ready slide replacement for the friggin firearm???!!!
    I can manage to find custom slides online, but it should be MUCH easier for S&W to offer a slide replacement for purchase. Boggles my mind how UN-INTUITIVE their website is. "Law enforcement only" is all I see for my pistol w/optics-ready slide (nevermind just wanting to purchase a slide)!
    I Love my M&P's, but man, I hate their website.

    Thanks for this video. But how do I mount a green dot? I don’t like red dots for my eyesight.

    • @Eddie87Grant
      @Eddie87Grant 2 года назад

      Yep I’m with you there I had previously bought a green dot for my Springfield XDM Elite 10mm but however they or a third party don’t have sights tall enough to co-witness. So that one willI be affixed to the S&W. I have one a green dot on my Glock 22 gen5 and I love it. I just wish that the other gun manufacturers would come with optic ready slides, extra tall sights, and plates to fit different optics. Thank you S&W for that excellent foresight!!!

    I love the M&P 9. I have 3 of them. But they are literally crap till you put in an Apex trigger. As long as S&W has been making guns and M&P’s, you would think that they could produce a decent trigger. The 2.0 is supposed to be better that the 1.0, but I don’t detect that’s it’s much better at all. Still super gritty. What a disappointment! It’s pretty sad when you buy a new gun, you have to immediately spend another $180 for a trigger to make it shoot properly! The only reason I even bought the 2.0 is I wanted a new gun to put in MCK and I want my magazines to all be interchangeable. As I said, I love the guns with the Apex, but I really hate the S&W company! And if you ever need to order a part under Warrenty, the jerk that that you have to deal with on the phone is apparently trying to destroy the company. He is a real jerk/moron! You have to fight with him to get him to do anything right. I spoke with a S&W certified gunsmith that told me, if a customer brings him a gun that needs Warrenty work, he refuses it unless the customer will do the phone calling. He said it’s more of hassle that it’s worth. S&W needs to get their act together!!

      I don’t fully disagree with you. As someone who owns a 2.0C I’ve actually really liked my trigger. Now I don’t have a fancy $200 trigger to compare to, but after shooting my buddies 5.56 AR, I prefer my pistol’s trigger reset
