@@antonrheaume Kinda, yes, but the leveling in this game is a bit different. You gain experience through fights and the experience becomes a level up through the DMW. The more experience you've gained, the more likely a level up is. It's kind of like you're 'banking' experience for level ups at a later time (whether that 'later time' is 1 minute or hours). I've never tested afk DMW for days to record the frequency of level ups at the later levels without gaining any experience but maybe some1 has?
Here is a lil' power move tip for those doing this AFK boost. If you're playing on PS5 you can use the remote share play app on your phone to do the boosting farm. That way you don't spend energy on the TV and you have things nearby while you do other things like watching TV, spending time with family and so on. Even if the app disconnects it puts the game on sleep and once you connect again it will take you back where you were. I've leveled and boosted all my materia this way. It's absolutely the best way to do this grind.
Here is a tip for those who want maximise their def so they don't get knocked down, once you get to chapter 3, you'll get 2 extra materia slots, equip your desired materia, start the mission, leave 1 sentry enemy alive, tape or put your controller in a position that will make R1 clicked all they time, zack will block all the attacks which he won't die as he will take 0 damage from the gun attack and 1 damage from the melee attack.😊
I’m playing in 2024 cause it was on sale on steam, and man I’m loving it. I never finished it as a kid, and no wonder. A lot of these systems are a bit much. So thanks for the vids!!
You're right! Can't believe I didn't think of that, very dumb. There's 8 enemies, drop 7 of them and leave the last one standing. Thanks very much for your comment! :)
Hi! Thanks for the info, i'm on chapter 1 and i just left one of the last sentrys alive G or H, but a toothpick in R1 so i Guard. I have base health 640, and thanks for guarding and DMW i got 2x as much health, so i dont die at all! Hope it helps someone out :D
have some vit up with accessory and wrap your controller with a rubber band pressing guard button until when you feel like stopping. 0 dmg and no phoenix down required.
also noticed rate of gaining SP is way faster than spending. I started with 45k SP and now I have double in less than 30 minutes. no need to worry about running out of SP.
True! Around level 20+ you dont need to do workarounds with 1 enemy attacking you but you're 100% right about blocking, makes most damage zero. For the early game, these tips definitely make it way more afk :)
This method only works to a degree. I afk for 10 minutes, then reset the battle. The game has built-in failsafes that prevent afk farming. For example, when the game doesn't want you to level up 777 becomes invincible. The longer you afk the less effective it becomes.
Okay, I'm not crazy, then. I noticed a couple "777 = Invincible"s myself. But at the same time, I didn't have three matching characters in those instances.
Leveling up is a different mechanic than leveling materia, this works for leveling materia (and catching up on some levels but not much) that's why I mentioned mastering materia this way. While this works... I'll admit this.... you could've spent that time doing ACTUAL missions and hunting for MINERVA rather than shitting in the toilet. Materia level at early stages doesn't matter until you hit Materia fusion and basically stat maxing. The Materia you use is almost insignificant until you do the Hunt for Minerva. Fire, Dark Fire, Fira, Cure, Cura... all useless when you go past chapter 3. You'll only have to note the usual 6 needed Materia that is constant in the game and capable of beating literally ANYBODY throughout the entire game. This guide isn't really that useful unless you really want to kill off precious time that is better spent on progressing Zack the real way. In that amount of time, you could've finished a good 6-10 missions which have rewards. So yeah.. not that useful. Plus it consumes about 1000+ sp or so which is used for SP Master and Materia Fusion.
