@@miggy8612 4.6 might not have the most HP now but it was decent back when it came out. It was used in cop cars, taxis, F-150s, Mustangs, Lincolns, Mercury, etc, etc All of them can go 200K miles or more, still see them on the road TODAY. Pretty much bulletproof engines and the first of its kind for Ford (overhead cam) , which lead to the development of the Coyote in today's age. Plus the 4.6 has a proper V8 tone.
@@Tcorellis-j6d well yeah I’m aware putting cams in it gives it enough balls to let it rev willingly, especially if it’s cams and eddy intake. But just saying, with such a short rev/power band, and only 4 real usable gears, kinda kills it for having anything 4.10’s and above IMO on these cars. Unless you don’t care about being able to easily go over 100mph and don’t care to use 5th and wait 10 years to get up to speed lol
I got rubber in 2nd and chirped 3rd on my bone stock 99 when I bought it in 99. All this gearing setup does is make first useless ,and the next higher gear takes the place of the one before it with the factory 3.27 setup. Gearing is no substitute for horsepower.
@@AyoPierre685 Better is subjective. Your car will pull harder with 4.10s. It will burn more gas and first gear will become very short. I found that with 3.73 gears and the t5 I had to be passing everyone on the highway in 5th unless I wanted to lug the engine. Leisurely cruising was impossible. However 4.10 gears only really makes sense if the engine combination matches it. Stock cam? Stick with 3.73s.
I wouldn't want it in my mustang just cuz it's goofy looking but having one of these cars I can say that the shifter is too far away .... I'll be over here rowing a boat
All show no go and runs out of RPM at 5th gear barely probably 120 miles an hour that's why I suggest running a 3.55 or 3.73 I don't understand why I have people have to run a 4.10 or a 4.56 or a 4.30 or 4.11 or whatever it's not worth it especially on the street your gas mileage really suffers and when it comes to top-end high speed it just runs out pretty quick my last Mustang GT would go 178mph with the 5 speed in a new edge with 3.31 built 4.6L to 5.0L Stroker and kenny belle 280 boost cams mod head shop stage 3 heads made 529.3hp @7320rpm & 467.2 ftlbs. @ 4360rpm and that was on the large pulley if I went to a small pulley I could have bumped it up even more but the car scared me every single chance it could. 😅
I ported my 78mm throttle and the stock PI intake. The rest was headers, full exhaust, and chasis mods. The car now has cams! But, this video was before the cams.
@@UnderDog2V oh ok just been looking to maybe get these gear and just people saying you loose a lot of top end but in 5th you still able to go atleast above 120?
I’m sorry, I am just now seeing this. I was hitting 150 every weekend with small 26” overall wheel size. Highway cruising at 70 was 3000 or so but, it isn’t near as bad as I thought it would be.
I can still hit about 145mph a little more probably touching redline in 5th. 4th is good till about 110. That’s shifting at 6000. Pulls very hard up top.
The 4.6 is one of the best engines ford ever made.
interesting take

these gears with a t56 and/or the ability to rev it to 7k would be bliss
I mean they make several cams that too out at 7-7.2k rpm it’s just how deep is your wallet

That’s some badass shifting there buddy! Sounds awesome too!👌😎👍
I was thinking either 3.73, or 4.10. Then I see you making the tires chirp all the way trough 4th.
Wow.
This is daltons car!!!
It barked tires on the 3-4 😂😂😂
Exactly, don’t fear the gear. I swear I still probably get around 20 mpg.
That’s pretty normal with 4.56 gears and a manual transmission. Lots and lots of torque.

I used to have 3.73 gears with a C4 so now overdrive. At 70 mph I was turning 3500 rpm. Now I have 4.56 gears and a T5. 70 mph is an easy 2800 rpm.
I got a t5 and 3.73 gears you think putting 410 gears would make it better ?

@@BarclayPrecisionEngineeringI agree also if it’s not stock cams there’s always the 3.90 ring and pinion set
To compromise between the two

Sounds good
Hell yeah
That stick is super sus🌭
It looks cool, but I’m not sure if I like the shifter looks a little bit out there. it just doesn’t look right if you know what I mean lol honestly 😂
Good shifting
That’s the secret to waking these cars up.. low power range. Gear it till you fear it.. l
Wtf Kind Of Curved Pp Shifter Is That😂
Idk. But it shifted better than my mgw so I just put it right back on.

How can you use that shifter looks like it would be uncomfortable 90% of the time
Cuando el microbusero se roba el Mustang del patrón.
You need a smaller shifter
What’s all done to it
During this video, just 4.56, ported PI intake and 78mm throttle body, long tube headers, and some weight reduction
What brand gears did you go with? Any whine at all?
A little bit if whine. I went with excel but I was told the Ford Performance didn’t whine at all. But, they were on back order at the time.
Hey man, did this ruin your highway cruising comfort? What rpm are you sitting at 60-70mph in 5th?
70 is at 3000 rpm with a t45 and 26” wheel. It’s not bad for me at all.

Your poor clutch
Do you have cams? Those cars don't make much power after 5800. Always ran 373's in 2V cars and 4.10 & above in 4.6 4V cars
