    You are so charming and talented. Can't wait to make this top. Even though I am an intermediate sewer, I love making quick cute tops and know this one will get a lot of compliments. Thank you!!!

    This is brilliant. I make childrens clothes but never make adult sizes.... i hate commercial tissue paper patterns and don't know how to adjust them to fit me. I can certainly make this though..... I'm going to have a go at this. Thanks Sarah. xxx

    Using a overlocker for raw edges is brilliant and super quick time saver then fold over for hems

      It certainly is, and I love mine, but not everyone has an overlocker so I wanted to keep it simple. x

    Hi just started to view your RUclips show. I have found it very good and easy to follow. I have an overlocker which collects dust. Please could you make something using an overlocker. Ie a top or a skirt

    Thank you for this very detailed and easy to understand tutorial. I absolutely love your fabric choices and this top is very flattering. Also, thank you for the information about overlocking. I have a brother machine and will be doing this to my edges from now on. Not only is this a time saver, but the seams looknice and neat as well. So many tutorials refer to a serger which I do not own. I am excited about making this top. Hope it turns out well. I will try your top stitching method as well. I'm not a dressmaker but a lot of videos seam the channel from the wrong side of the fabric. What is the difference? Have a great weekend. Julie

      Hi Julie - that is a very good question. I stitch my channel from the right side because the top of a stitch line on a machine is always neater than the bobbin thread stitch. So basically when something is going to be seen, we "top stitch" (stitch from the top). I hope that helps.

    Oohh - lovely. Can this be adjusted so it has a traditional neckline rather than off-the-shoulder?

    • @sarahpaynequilter590
      @sarahpaynequilter590  7 лет назад +1

      Yes. Just pull the shoulders up. That's how i wear it when I cant find a strapless bra 😀.
      This works better with longer sleeves. Sarah xx

      And I have found it works better with a thinner elastic.

    I’m so sorry sarah i had to laugh. As much as I’m engrossed in what your doing i had to chuckle at how you concentrate on sewing. My husband says i make faces and your the same.
    I love the top tho. I could imagine extending the top of sleeve so i could wear a good bra. Top old for off the shoulder.

      That's my best 'concentrating face' :) Paul knows there no point talking to me when I have that face as I won't hear a word he says LOL!

      I have the same facial expressions when sewing. I had my hubby watch you sewing and he says we must be related! My ancestors were from England so we might share a wee bit of DNA possibly!
