People might not understand what's so special about fridge space but I would say more than 95% of japanese mansions including the newer ones have narrower fridge space which only fits japanese fridge but not the high-end fridges from foreign brands. Wide fridge space by itself is a luxury in Japan.

Beautiful! I hope that whoever rents this hires a good stylist who knows their way around plants -- that stairwell courtyard and the rooftop and balcony really need them. I'd almost want to live there myself and leave my own nice house with a garden in a very different country! (also, like others here, I've come straight over from the Abroad in Japan Podcast and not regretted it!)
I love to garden and this place is so unique that its in central Tokyo and actually gives you the space and good light to do that. That central courtyard would look like the Amazon by the time I'm done with it. I dunno if you could leave orchids outside in that courtyard during the summer but that would kind of be my theme.

One thing nobody seems to talk about, is the investing side of Real Estate in Japan. Because from what I've heard is very different to other countries. Nice video btw!
Just listened to the podcast you did with Chris and I'm now subscribed!! Can't wait to see more videos on housing and apartments!! Something that needs to be covered more and who better than yourself!! :) Keep up the great work
For such an expensive apartment: The layout is weird (direct access to the master from the guest, two doors to get to the roof, etc...), that hallway is way too narrow, and the view is mediocre at best.
Alex, I have big dreams of working in real estate one day. When I move to Japan I’d love to learn from you! You give me hope that I can work as a realtor in Japan as a foreigner. That’s not something I see much of on RUclips, so thank you !
He doesn't work as a realtor here in Japan, he's just showing the place because he's a RUclipsr. To be a realtor in Japan you essentially have to be Japanese bc your clients will be Japanese. No, its not good enough to be fluent bc most Japanese are scared of foreigners so no real estate company will hire you. Not enough foreigners in Japan to make money selling to foreigners. Sorry man
I would change this house for some small cozy house or apartment without blink. Sure...it's large but lack of wood and this white colour everywhere just killing me. For this price...very disappointing.
I came here from The Abroad In Japan Podcast. I already loved your presence in Chris and Sharla's videos, and I got very excited when you said you have a YT channel on the podcast. Looking forward to touring more apartments with your expertise!
Way too much white for my liking. After only a short time my head would hurt and my eyes would beg for mercy. I'm probably the odd one here, because it seems like most people want a flat/house that's as bright as possible. Nice balcony with a great view though, and the rooftop bath tub is to die for.
*if I may give you a tip to camera man. Try to focus on capturing the house and its detail, you seem to focus on the agent too much. After all this video is about the listing and the property!*
Why do the windows have that metal grid pattern in them??? I've noticed this in other apartment tours Alex has done. Is it earthquake code?? Cause here in the States the only places I've seen those types of windows are in schools, gyms, hospitals, and jails. Places where security is important(or an errant basketball can crack a normal window). Gives a real sort of institutional vibe that would drive me nuts in this otherwise beautiful apartment.
I LOVE YOUR CONTENT !!! ❤️ & your pug 😍 (I saw him in the $20,000 USD apartment video in abroad in Japan) I'm really excited and looking forward your new content !!
For $25K a month, I don't expect some gadget accepting my packages and mail, I expect a 24hr doorman to do so. Also, no oven for $25K a month! People keep saying most Japanese apts don't have ovens, but most Japanese apt doesn't cost $25K a month. Also, where/what are the amenities of this building? A building with no decent amenities isn't really an exclusive apartment, its just an apartment. I can't believe we have bargain lux apartments here in midtown Manhattan for "only" $15K a month! To be clear, not a critique of the channel, really like this channel, this is a critique of this apartment. My only negative critique of the review is you should stop saying "for Japanese standards" since this is probably 15x the avg rent in Japan. I feel like when you say it, you're just highlighting the fact that its missing something it should have for the price point. Otherwise, awesome review, will be waiting for the next one. Cheers!
even better: 25k a month and you have to do every single "curtain" in the master bedroom on your own... as if automated real curtains would be so hard...
I love watching house tours cuz they are all different and have unique gadgets or things like that, the layout and everything Japan really has aesthetically pleasing housing!
Hey man... I too work in Real Estate in South Africa... I've been planning on moving to Japan and I would like to know that as a foreigner in Japan how you managed to make it as big in Japan... it's really awesome what you do...
I like the tech in the space, but the space itself reminds me of a condo in Montreal's Habitat without the cachet having that feeling of being in a landmark building. So overall, the space is disappointingly derivative.
How's that when showing guest rooms like that they say "not quite much"!?... Not only because its in Japan, but also because, why promote the idea that people need HUGE houses to live? This house is a mansion for so many people!
Sorry. Doesn’t matter if it’s Japan but at $25k a month it’s inexcusable it hasn’t got an oven. Very poorly designed. Plus all that white - you need colour at least in the kitchen cupboards. And those bathroom splash back tiles should have been used in the kitchen.
Ok, it is big. And a really great location. But it is weird. And boring. And the jacuzzi on the rooftop is useless. Who would want to be like an animal taking bath in a zoo for everyone to see? And what about those shelves? I bet it wasn't cheap, but it does look like. I don't see how this place is worth that much money...
Great job on the video, Alex! Like others here, I came to your channel after listening to the most recent abroad in japan podcast. The flow of the presentation in this video was quite good. Your videos are getting better each time. Keep up the good work!
...my question is...does those shoe racks become odourless...., they need fresh air too...unless it has that south korean in - built refresher shoe technology....they even have a special mini - wash machine to clean your sneakers, ..... I also saw a sort of camara - fridge ?? where you put your coat, jacket to get rid of bacteria / pollution that you may have catched from outside... its mind blowing😳
Idk how many other realtor businesses do this but I really enjoy these home walkthrough videos . And $140k isn't too crazy , I've seen similar setups go for much more though I have seen them go for less so it just depends
Not sure I'd go for the jacuzzi with entire freaking neighbourhood able to look at your potbelly, but... I suppose there are people who don't share this modesty. Seems a bit of a waste to me though.
here from abroad in japan ^^. love your channel, it's very interesting and cool to see. I'm more of an old magical cottage kind of person (also budget wise 😂), but love seeing different architecture and styling.
Gas is on the nose in today's world, an induction cooker is the way to go. Also while I'm at it, a modern washing machine only needs a cold water connection because it will heat the water internally if needed.
is that small fridge space ? FOUR whole me's fit in that space alone!! :O Also the starting price of 140.000 then every month 25.000 is so much money but if you have to spend it why not a place that gives you a jaccuzi on the roof!!!

I love the dishwasher. That's a 500-1000 $ luxury (they seem to cost 3 times as much in Japan though) I do expect in my 25K a month appartment (plus fees, gift money and so on). Very important to have one as some people can t affort to just buy one after spending the 25k on rent. Love how its always the german brand dish washer thats pointed out. View and location yes, but "cheap" kitchen appliances?

At $25k a month that should be irrelevant. Rich people usually do have big fridges
That's ridiculous. Quit making excuses
Alex, its nice that you now have a camera man. The video is now more fluid. Kudos! 😍😍
This apartment looks actually liveable. Very roomy, airy, fairly easy to furnish.
they absolutely need to change the window blinds though. too office-y.
