Hi - best to rotate by means in electrical power - it is a bit of a game of chance to get it to stop in the correct place for refitting.

which l322 would you say is more reliable and easier to work on (diy) the 4.4v8 or the td6?. I am buying one this week and want the most reliable of the two, many thanks. Your videos are the best out there, you really help millions of people. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK *****

Hi - tricky to say - both engines are good engines. I prefer the petrol to drive but you need to think about MPG etc ?

Hi Sir, I would like to know how to rotate the motor to fit the transfer box shaft? can we do it by hand tools or use electric supply to the motor?

Thanks for the very helpful videos. I just replaced the motor on my L322 and this video and the other two related ones were very helpful.
I bought the replacement motor used on eBay for $250. Although used it looks brand new, with even the paper labels looking new. I'm hoping it is at least half as good on the inside as it looks on the outside.
I tested the potentiometer as explained in your other video and it looks fine. What I am a bit concerned is that even the old one is looking fine when I test it in the same way so I am a bit confused as to what was wrong. The new one has worked fine but I'll need some more driving to know for sure whether the fault is fixed or not as I didn't get the 'Transfer neutral' and other related errors every day with the old motor.
With regards to rotating it to the right place I used an adjustable bench power supply and increased the voltage gradually until the motor just started turning. It makes it much easier to stop at the right place and if I overshoot I reverse the polarity and turn it back a little.

Hi Dave - glad to see your car is up and working ! Sometimes you can just spin the old motor round and it seems to clear the potentiometer so do not discard the old motor just yet.

I drove a diesel and a gasoline before buying a Range Rover. A diesel engine gives better MPG, but the engine is not as quiet as a gasoline. Also, a gasoline engine has better response and it's quicker.
I bought a gasoline Range Rover.
