  • It's finally time that my very cheap 194,000 mile Range Rover got a well needed diff & transfer box service before a road trip, ofcourse this doesn't all go to plan...
If you are enjoying the series, then why not stick around and look back on all of the previous Range Rover content and projects! I thank you for your support

Just read the WSM, and it states if the fluid drains out of the diff filler point then they are overfilled, should only be filled to a specified volume. T Box is fill till it runs out.

What’s the pump called to put the oil back into the diff?
How do you clean it between the different oils?
    Cheers

I use a 1l syringe type fluid transfer pump, this one is made by laser and sold by halfords, I just make sure its empty and flush it through with petrol or diesel when I want it clean

Hello mate, what do you think a decent quote for this job would be from a independent garage? don’t really have the access to be getting under my TDV8!!

Hard to say as it's not my profession, I know how much it cost me and how long it took.
I can't see why it would be any more than £150, less than an hours work if the drain/fill plugs undo and oils around £60, so for materials. markup and labour, I wouldn't have thought more than £150
