- The Keltec Sub2000 is an awesome little carbine but it just feels like its missing something right out of the box. We decided to pimp out a KelTec we had in stock with some of the best accessories we could find to really show off its potential. Let us know what you think of how we tricked this out. Doesn't come with iron sights and the button to unfold is weird. Gen 2 is better IMO
Doesn't come with iron sights is huge. People kept bitching about the irons so Kel tec decided to get rid of it.. now you have to fold and then twist, the optics gets in the way of trying to store it in a laptop bag. For the price, gen 3 sucks, I prefer the Gen 2.

Looks like you got your sling on backwards. If you turn it around you can run it (as designed) as a one or two point sling. Good video.
When I was looking at it and the FPC Smith, I chose the FPC because KelTec seems more plastic…feels more like a toy gun than a weapon.

Kel-Tec needs to make a generous donation to the patriots in SE & MW USA in prep for CW 2.0 (Hollywood says we're gonna have it??), since they did for Zelinsky. A Bulk donation of several K's of rounds would be nice as well 😉

i know you dont have a beard, but how does the charging handle not get stuck in your beard. i went to 0.25 speed and still it snapped back so fast. i dont even think i can own this gun , it was flying back right by your cheek!! i wish there was video of a full bearded man shooting it
mcarbo sells a tube cover that helps a bit
You gotta glue a piece of cardboard to the tube if you want to keep those beard hairs lol

Mrgunsandgear has a video showing how horrible the accuracy is with the integrally suppressed model
I'd highly suggest looking at the Ruger pc, S&W Response or FPC first. all much better quality and reliability

@@MittenStateEDCit doesn't fold, won't fit in a camel bak or backpack. For the price of a direct blowback no thanks. I'll save some money and get a delay blowback mp5 on black Friday before I ever buy that. The sub 2000 was around $270 out the door with the rebate, for the price you cant beat it.

A cloud defensive rein 3.0 shoots out farther than my kel Tec sub 2000 lol that thing hits all day 300 yards all day ON MY AR 15! Not on this lol like this video though

The SUB2K is a fun innovative little PCC, but I suppose it’s all a matter of personal preference because you and I disagree on pretty much everything when it comes to accessorizing. I’ve never been much of a fan of suppressors or silencers although I admit they might add some fun to firing the weapon. I just have little interest in them. I feel a light is just added weight and bulk and I agree with the age old argument that although it may light your target, it also shows your enemy exactly where you are. I don’t even own a sling for any of my weapons. I’m not a hunter and don’t plan on any long marches and see no need for it for home defense or plinking at the range so why bother other than it can look kind of cool? A sling might help tighten up a long shot, but I can already ping ten inch steel at 100 yards well enough with the SUB2K. We almost agree on the fore grip except I went with an AFG. I like the sleek lines better, it feels more comfortable and natural to me and it is much less likely to snag when I’m pulling the weapon out of a backpack. We agree on the necessity of an optic, but I feel the MCARBO mount absolutely sux. I despise the bulky way it sticks out when folding the gun. Another thing to get hung up inside the backpack. Their mount and their butt pad are the only MCARBO accessories where I feel they dropped the ball. I originally went with the Midwest Industries optic mount. The way they want it mounted requires the use of a hinky para-cord, but I just mounted it one M-LOK forward and the cord wasn’t required. I never had a problem with it, but I’ve since replaced that with a simple 45 degree offset mount and stuck a small reflex red dot meant for a pistol on it. Very compact, no flipping or twisting required and no interference when folding the weapon. You hold the weapon at an angle to fire it, but it turns out it feels very natural and is somehow an easier cheek weld. It's not difficult to get used to and you have full use of your irons without flipping the optic out of the way. As far as the optic itself goes, it’s just a matter of what you like. With all the upgrades included in my MCARBO M-Series, the only other thing I added was a Missouri Tactical butt stock pad. Simple, functional, comfortable and it doesn’t require drilling holes in your weapon like the MCARBO pad. I feel the SUB2K is a good home defense gun in a pinch, a good backpack gun and a good little truck gun, but I feel it would be foolish to leave it in the vehicle unattended even if hidden under the seat or in a backpack.
Everybody has their own ideas as to what they like and what sux. As long as it works for you and you’re comfortable with it that’s all that matters.

One of the best upgrades, besides the MCarbo trigger pack and metal feed ramp, is the Red Lion rotating fore grip. It's pricy but high quality metal with proper mlock slots and attachable metal picatinny rail sections. For some reason you rarely see it in these upgrade videos for the sub2k.
I installed a Red Lion Precision indexing rail on my ge2 sub2k. It really sets it off as far as looks go! That and it rotates so you can keep the optics on!
@stevenk5800 Yeah, it's a great upgrade for the gen2. Just pricy. I think a gen2 with this upgrade is still much better than the gen3. While it's cool that the foregrip on the gen3 rotates, the picatinny rail on it doesn't hold zero well because the top of the rail is not flat. If you attach an optic to the stock rail you can easily shift it back and forth because of that peak on top of the rail. You can attach a super high quality rail to the Red Lion grip.

Seriously, save a few extra dollars and get the S&W folding carbine.
Those are like the Ruger wranglers of the PCC world. They suck and only exist because the Kel tec sub 2000 exists. You paying double and aren't even getting a better trigger, waste of money. The sub 2000 is $270 after rebate. Works for bear defense in an RV.
This same gun was used to kill 6 people, including three kids in Nashville. smh

To me the most uncomfortable, awkward and unreliable weapon I own. Has been back for warranty once already after firing a couple mags.
I have about 3000 rounds no issue I got mcarbo upgrades on mine one of my favorite guns have about 30 currently but to each is own

Cant recommend the Kel-tec had one with all the mcarbo upgrades and it was still lacking, also had a bad heat treat on the barrel. sold it and choose to keep a hi point over it if that says anything. only benefit of kel-tec is the mags it uses
How did you know the heat treating was bad on the barrel? Worn out rifling?
