this is the first time i'm impressed by an action cam in years. i have absolutely no need need for an action cam but even that a-roll of you on the pier is making this a tempting buy for video creation.

I've been holding out getting an action camera since GoPro8 and was taken by the Action3 back then, and kept holding out. I've had the Action4 in my cart several times and just didn't make the purchase and held out more. Today, I am so glad that I held out! The action5 just seems incredible for me. 4 hours record time and 20 meter waterproofing without a case plus syncing between 2 DJI mics? Anything more than that is just pixel peeping. This is perfect. Thanks for the review!
I bought the action 4 about 2 months ago , I just couldn’t stand my GP8 anymore . I’ve been happy with my purchase. Normally I would’ve been upset of a new camera coming out right after purchasing the previous model however, this time I have no regrets since the image quality and battery life on the action 4 is so much better than the GP8 .
Okay, I'm convinced. The Action 5 Pro is significantly much better than the Action 4, most especially with the low light test comparison, so the price difference even after discounts is worth it.
I agree with Carrie, gooder is not a word. And that’s crazy you were able to film for so freakin long!!! Think it’s safe to say, the Action 5 is officlly more gooder than the GoPro.
As someone who uses a mic inside my helmet the 4 hour battery and the fact that I already have the dji mics from my pocket 3 this is a for sure purchase

I always enjoy your videos, but I am questioning the image coming from the Hero 13. I agree, left wins in almost every shot, but the middle looks quite a bit less clear than the left or the right. On my Hero 13 in 5.3k it is definitely clearer than my action 4 in side by sides. Just a comment, no hate. That low light though 😮. I’ll have to see it compared the Ace Pro, because that’s a beast in low light too. Thanks for the video as always!
Sharpness was on minimum on all cameras, gopro seems to really have no sharpness added, while DJI probably still adds some. Much more pleasing image on gopro IMO
Really is an AMAZING time to be a video maker. Guitarist, too...there is a TON of epic gear out there for guitarists these days, lots of which isn't that expensive, either.
Was hoping to see the comparison with the action 5, the GoPro 13, and the insta 360 ace pro, which also has great dynamic range and impressive low light
Looking PRO with that MTB gear! Low light is definitely my #1 problem when filming, if it can keep hardcore stabilization in low light then I've gotta get this.

Okay, so I picked the A5P. loved the dynamic range, battery life is such a big deal I hate stopping to have to change the batteries... Also, we just going to start naming action cameras pro too?I just checked and it has 47GB of internal storage which is clutch af. The first split screen, they all look good. Hard to tell with no clouds in the sky. Dynamic range looks good on the one on the left. Middle one is messing with weird skins, too much clarity?
That extra wide view of the GoPro 13 with the lens mod is appealing, but the price of entry is way too high considering it's mostly an 11 with extras. On the GoPro 9 right now and might get an 11 if it goes on firesale, but this Action 5 does look pretty good! I agree with your friend about preferring a 1/4th-20 directly in the camera.
Ok I'm sold!!! 200mins of battery back up on one battery?!! It's gonna be the best to put up on Motorcycles and i think that's the next action cam I'll be getting. Had a good amount of hope for GoPro but they disappointed big time. Even the tiny one isn't what we wanted. So meh GoPro 👋🏻

DJI looked the best, hands down. Better DR, better auto WB, better colors (mostly), wildly better low light. Only thing i WISH the Action had is a 400fps mode like the GoPro. That's a cool feature, considering how hard it is to find any camera that can do more than 120/240Fps.
Nice! I rock an action 4 and switched to the wireless MIC in the helmet as soon as that feature released. Battery life has me looking at the 5 really hard.
Okay, I'm 3:56 minutes in and would say the 'middle' shot is 'generally' my preferred image (I'll assume GoPro 13). Clearly, the one on the left does much better in low light (i'll assume the Action 5 Pro), and not sure what's on the far right. And before we go further I would say it depends on what you shoot (I don't shoot much low light video)...okay...back to the video.
I'm just gonna pause the video at 2:40 and say, in all these clips, it's no contest for me. The left, every shot. Not perfect, but definitely the best in my view. Okay, now I'll keep watching.

I don't know why they called it “PRO” to be honest ... It seems your only need to upgrade every 2 years to notice a considerable difference. that's my take.

The only thing that really bugs me on dji products is the mix of oversharpening and denoising, basically on all cameras, and you can see what i mean on the cameras that allow raw recordings. The Long GOP recordings are always too overcompressed, denoised and oversharpened even on low settings. I hope they will fix that one day. on the first few shots when you pause the video you can see the the gopro holds fine hair details and the dji are super sharpened and that makes it so hard to mix actioncam footage with higherend cameras. like bit of noise no pro problem. buut once it is over done you can not go back
I also noticed that, thanks for the detailed explanation, is there any solution to avoid that AI kinda processing in DJI ?

@@JamesBond-re2nt if the camera allows prores or raw use that but everything else can only be changed by a firmware upgrade. One fix i sometimes do in post is upscaling to 8k with topaz to get the detail finer again and add it back in the 4k timeline, that also removes some of the haloing etc.
The Action 5 blows the GoPro 13 out of the water. It's not even a contest. When I need a new action camera I'll be getting the Action 5 without a question.
Now just the WAIT for black friday..... so looooong. I will finally upgrade form my 2x Osmo action 1 haha. Been only shooting with 1080p, so i skipped all the others models. But bigger sensor for low light got me! TAKE MY MONEY! Pairing with my pocket 2 and dji mini 2

If DJI gave us a low profile GoPro style mount plus the magnetic mount, it’d be perfect!
I just take off the entire mag mount and put it on my GoPro mounts. Even that got annoying so now got extra mag mounts.

man, gopro just renders skin horrible. it makes you look 10 years older. it's simple. it's the most unnatural image among all.

A lot of people mix Drone and Actioncam footage, so it's nice to have the white balance of the DJI.

GoPro hands down. DJI digital sharpening is visible from a mile away. Even with their sharpening turned all the way down.

Kind of sure you put a filter on the GoPro video, because nowhere in your GoPro 13 review does the video look even close to that extrem clarity bump
