    I knew National Geographic filmmakers were hardcore but hanging from a rope hundreds of feet in the air trying to record a documentary with 60lbs of gear while getting stung by bees is absolute nightmare fuel! 🤯

    Damn I love that you go against the grain of all the rest of the RUclipsrs at time and really bring something new to the table. All the other pleabeans talking about insta360 go 3s, here is gene & team risking his life to give us life lessons in real world filmography. Freaking awesome!!

    Renan is a legend. Him and Jimmy Chin have a solid hold on the majority of nature, outdoor branded/doc scene but they absolutely earned it through years of putting in the time. Thanks for making this video.

    These are by far my favourite style of videos. I'll take this over a gear review any day. I also really liked the Arri Camera/Lens video you a did a while back. Just learning about how some stuff is recorded or documented is soooo cool to me

    Definitely worth it for these in-depth videos, and I'd rather have no one else but y'all do it! I have no aspirations to be a bigtime filmmaker, but this stuff is so fascinating, and I'm sure even small fry like me can learn something from these types of videos!!

    As someone who's started climbing a year and a bit ago, this is a really cool crossover! Climbing and filmmaking are hard enough on their own, let alone doing both of them at the same time. So interesting to see how Renan does it.

    Next time I think about complaining about bringing just a full frame with an extra lens, mini drone, and tripod on a hike, I'm going to think about these people and just shut the hell up. So much respect. He has the perfect mindset for what he does and not many people think about the person behind the camera in these docs.
