- Ahead of Sunday's big game, Inside Edition visited hotels around Atlanta charging astronomical sums for a room to see what you might be paying for. Chief Investigative Correspondent Lisa Guerrero went to a Quality Inn, where she found hairs among the sheets and a discarded chicken bone under the bed in a room going for $560 a night, over seven times the regular rate. When asked about with the gross finds, a housekeeping manager said she would take care of the issues immediately. #InsideEdition
The 1st manager was actually nice. She wasn’t mad just calm.
And the room wasn't nearly as bad as the others or charging as much.

My Mom works at housekeeping, and she said that almost all of the workers either talk all the time or fix a room super slowly, and she's the only one getting the payday because my mom is the only one doing work lol.
So I can't really blame the hotel, more like blame the employees lol.
My Mom was an Executive House Keeper and she had to fire some because she caught them sleeping rather than working. She was reprimanded by the owner for throwing comforters in the washing machine. The owner gave instruction to only wash comforters once a season. This was back in the 80's when it was OK but disgusting.

The employees work FOR the hotel. So yes blame the hotel because they hired these people and it’s the managers job to make sure the hotel is in proper order.

I remember watching a video about a restaurant close to where I live and the manager was confronted because of the sanitary issues in the kitchen and quality of the food.....and what did the restaurant manager do while being confronted???.......he walked away and refused to say a single word!!!

Sabrina McNeil I’ve stayed at one before...as a halfway mark between MD and AL. OUR room (Idk about other’s) it was waaaaaaaaaaay better than this other motel we stayed at...OMG. Thank GOD we were moving and that’s why we were traveling, so we had sheets and blankets form the move...let me tell you...the first hotel we stayed at was like a prostitution hotel. It was DISGUSTING. And when we were there something happened where there was a police raid at one of the rooms. I was like WTFFFFF is happening??? It was me, my mom, and our pretty big Lab, Buddy. He was even uncomfortable there.

Last year, I went on summer vacation with my family and my cousin. At the first hotel we went to, I found a bug on the bed and thought nothing of it when I told my parents, but then my mom and dad frantically started searching the beds to see if there were other bugs. They ended up not seeing any but still decided to check out and book another hotel near by. The rest of our trip was fun and I most likely with never forget it.
Customer service has sunk really low in many businesses over the past few years. It’s a reflection of greed, and poor quality employees who have no pride in the quality of their work.
I would just sleep in my car rather than downgrading and spending $800 at the same time

What's probably more shocking is that people like you and me who stay in these hotels/motels do this stuff and leave our dirty socks behind a dresser or shove our used q-tip behind the nightstand, etc. Yes, the hotel staff is supposed to clean and all but if we're doing this in the first place, it's kind of on us to make sure we sweep up our toenail clippings once we're done and properly dispose of them in the first place. It's on us to make sure that q-tip actually makes it into the trash can. It's a hotel room, yes, and so I suppose many would think "well, that's not my job" but it's your job at home so why not in the hotel room, too? Who leaves a chicken bone tucked up into the bed frame of the room they're staying with? I mean, you can't really say that was accidental. LOL
The chicken bone location was as good as the time I found an entire package of lunch meat spread out under all the sofa and chair cushions (separate items of furniture, no less) at a hotel in Florida a couple years ago. Yeah, I know, Florida so I should've expected that but, really, one of us did that at some point; "us" being the people who pay to stay at these places. Who does that? LOL It sure wasn't accidental.

I remember Gordon Ramsey using a device in his worst hotel experiences show. There was 1 lady who had defecated on the carpet of one of the hotel rooms. I believe he said any score on the meter above 50 or so would be considered as disgusting and not fit for a hotel. The meter showed about 10 times that score.
Long story short they should have used that device to test these rooms.

It's got to do with the fact that if you can afford a hotel charging a little over 500 you can probably take a vacation somewhere or spend that money for something better.
Emina Ramic ..I didn't think of that.. very good point.. the ones who were staying in these hotels were probably either given the tickets or season ticket holders.. I know it was a long time ago but I had season tickets to the Patriots bk in 1985 when they went to the superbowl in New Orleans vs the Chicago Bears. 5 of us went and stayed in a holiday in that normally charged $70 a nite and payed $300 a nite because of the game.. At least our hotel wasn't this disgusting.. bk then the maids actually did their job and cleaned the rooms..

Even for the regular price that feels like a scam
The hotels have a quota for daily rooms being cleaned per housekeeper like 28 in 8 hrs. The time frame for cleaning is limited and that does not include the calls for room service. One of those bugs was clearly a bed bug. The one with the flat round body.
more like 28 rooms in less than 6 hours at most, at some Hampton Inns, or else the housekeepers get clocked out an hour before check in time, and still have to work off the clock while getting yelled at about running late due to being meticulous and thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting.. The owner knows the undocumented ones wont go to the health or labor boards to file complaints, which really narrows down and makes it easier to fire who reported it when a complaint does get followed up on.
A ghost or two would have been far less scarier than all that filth!

I’ve stayed in two Atlanta hotels that were both pretty decent regardless of pricing, Hyatt Regency Downtown, and Residence Inn Midtown Peachtree at 17th.
Me my daughter and 3 grandkids just stayed at the quality inn in Portland maine and we were so disappointed with the room the carpets were stained the beds were uncomfortable and sheets were wrinkled i really dont think the sheets were clean the ice machine wasn't working and theres wasnt any towels at the pool i got some from the workout room. We were really disappointed

Some of the problem is they give the maids so little time to clean a room. I used to be a room maid in hotels and I got 25 minutes to per room that involved changing a huge bed, cleaning all around the room. Tidy coat hangers wash and replenish the tea and coffee station. Vacuum. Dust furniture. Check draws were empty. Check the stationary folder. Scrub all the bathroom. Replace towels. Clean the mirrors. Wash the floor. No water marks could be left on the shower screens. Clean the toilet. Replenish the toiletries. Mop the balcony and wipe down the balcony furniture.
I've been in a hotel before and luckily it was clean because I had a blacklight and I was shining it around the room and I didn't find much stuff! The only thing that I found was a couple of hairs and a dead ant but that was basically all that I found!

i went on a vacation trip and my family stayed at quality inn at sarasota near the beach even not on super bowl day its was still terrible to add onto the trauma on one of our trips we ran over a nail at first my dad thought he ran over it but i thought someone did this because some one earlier asked us to pay for there room but my dad politely denied

They should come and check out the knights inn in paximos pa. They have buckets in the hallways catching water because the ceiling is caving in. When I first came here I found 3 bed bugs I had to check out right away. After I decided to check Google Maps to see if other people had a problem with it come to find out there’s more people who reported bedbugs in the hotel.
