    Very underrated watch in many ways. Beautiful on wrist and feels like silk. I own the 38mm silver dial and could not be happier. Yes, it looks a bit retro but when does retro go out of style?

  • @jollyrob
    @jollyrob Год назад +33

    I have the 41mm blue face with diamonds and love it. Although I don't usually go for the 'blingy' option the small diamonds really improve the dial imho - overcoming the overly busy roman numerals and improving the symmetry.

    I literally bought the day date royal blue dial two weeks ago. It’s such an amazing watch up front. It was intended for the occasion but has now replaced my PRX 35mm powermatic as my daily driver. It really is beautiful to the eyes.

      @@palfor0 I have kind of small wrists. 6.5 - 7 also. Although I have the 41, it looks good and wears well. Slightly top heavy but a non-issue. I think a 38 would be perfect for your wrist size. But day date only comes with 41mm. If I’m not mistaken all sizes below are only date.

      @@ishakahmedthis vs the Prx…your thoughts considering the price difference? I’m considering a royal

    • @ishakahmed
      @ishakahmed Год назад +3

      @@aaronzx10rin terms of looks, the PRX just looks way more expensive than the price is. The way the Roman numerals glint in the light, as well as the bracelet shimmer, is just top class. The Royale stands out too. The 41mm is a really bold looking watch, and I think there are a few other watches in that price range from other brands that do the same thing. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a gem. But between the two I think PRX is way more watch than what you’re paying.

    • @dtrxn

      Damn I’m also wearing my PRX 35mm, thinking about getting the Tudor date day. I’m worried about the size since this is only available in 41mm. I tried on the PRX 40mm and it looks huge on my wrist.

    There were three reasons I bought this watch about 1.5 years ago. In order, they are (1) I liked it, (2) barely anyone else had it, (3) I wanted to establish a "relationship" with my local AD for a Rolex (I bought a few others, too, this was just part of it). I love this watch. Great value. I've seen the same SW-200 in many other more expensive watches, but I'm willing to bet they didn't do as good of a job as Tudor did when putting it into their watch.

    Recently got the 38 silver dial. It's great. The body is a homage to oyster quartz, and the unusual bezel is a nod to the 1959 Rolex. I love those historical winks. The applied romans have a lot of sparkle and are subtle. Build quality is top quality. The vibe is a playful mix of maximalist (the wonderfully blingy bezel and numerals) minimalist (the sleek brushed case and bracelet with polished sides, the lack of face text). It is a sturdy office-to-dinner-to-playtime daily wearer, but it's just a little more playful and fancier. Mine has been keeping great time -- +/- one second, for real. Improvements for the future: micro adjustments, better lume (current lume is useless), rounded crystal. All the detractors make me love it more because it means that I will see it on fewer wrists :)

    Stunning watch and so under the radar, which to me makes it even more special. I got the 41mm twotone gold and black combo and its even cooler than salmon or blue stainless steel variants. It just pops, you have to see it in person though, videos and generic pics don't do it justice. Also the 41 mm variants have the daydate complication for which on a rolex youll pay 10 times more. Moonphasing it for a month now and i think its my best watch purchase so far. The biggest negative would be no microadjusts at all so if your fit is somewhere in the middle of a link, youre stuck with a loose or tight watch. SW200 is a workhorse and inhouse is overrated, ill be laughing with joy when the service time comes.

    I got a 38 mm Royal with a silver dial. It is a great watch; the bezel is stunning, especially in sunlight. In my opinion, it is outstanding and has no similarities to other watches. I would not compare it to an Oysterquartz or AP, as some people do, just because it has an integrated bracelet. The clasp is awesomely small, almost like a hidden clasp.
    The only downside is that there is no small adjustment option and no half links. But other than that, it is a great watch to wear daily.
    I would not give it away.
    Edit: I don't have the biggest wrist, so I can't wear the 41mm, I would love the 38 mm with the Day-Function to. A 38mm Day-date Version would be the only thing that would make me change my royal.

    it seems a great luxury everyday watch, that probably you can wear it for many years, also it looks timeless design as well, I wonder if Omega or baume & mercier or what the competitor in this range price, maybe longines!

    That salmon colored dial is gorgeous.
    I think most divers are meant to be worn on a more casual basis. Most. Not all. I could definitely see this watch worn with both suit or jeans. Easily. Mostly because of the salmon colored dial. It adds a real elegance to a diver-type watch. It looks like it's hitting above his price point.
    Quite frankly, I see 007 wearing this watch with a gray flannel suit.
    It's on my list.

    Owned a blue one in 38. Loved how it looked and felt but it was too top heavy. The bracelet links were thin and the watch head was relatively thick, so it would flop all over all day.

      @robertbest3898 Год назад

      follow up here -- I have been considering this as 38. My understanding - it's under 11mm thick. Can you say more about the top-heavy feel? Was the bracelet properly fitted - or any other information you can share about the experience. (I have wondered if it was big and clunky - and was under the impression is isn't). Thx, Bob

    We bought my wife the salmon in a 34mm size I think. It looks way more expensive than it is and she gets lots of compliments on it even from strangers. To be honest I am a bit of a Tudor fan boy but once you see this in person it's hard to deny it's a beautiful watch.

    It does has its unique design and is actually very similar to Tudor previous Classic series look. Black Bay is too famous that Royal is vastly brushed aside by many.

    Own this watch for almost 2 years. The way it plays with the light and shines is so captivating. 🔥 One feature that is missed is its versatility, it has a date and screw down crown, that my other dress watches don’t have. Since owning it, has gone up by almost $1000 🤯.

    I really wanted to like this - and the case, the bracelet, even the bezel look great. Nice choice of colours and materials too. But that dial is a dealbreaker: hands from one era, numerals from another, minute track from a third. As a few others have said, adding diamonds actually makes it LESS fussy, which must put the Royal in a category of one.
