not_another_ken Well you can tell is so much sloppier. When James stopped playing in the last chorus of Creeping Death, Kirk was not sounding too good.
Metallica live is the best thing ever. Seeing James ripping his guitar out and Lars in the back beating those drums, it's the best thing ever. I never get tired of watching these kind of videos.
C30 Nation You are right. I saw them 3 times (4th at Lollapalooza Argentina March 31!) and they're the best band live. Lars in this one was amazing. That doble bass man! Metallica IS the greatest band in the world. (sorry for my bad english).
These days hating on Metallica has sadly, become a trend. But really, why the hell they deserved that?? Just look at this. They performed probably 2 of the best songs in Metallica history absolutely flawless, and they all more than 50 years old. Where we will be in our 50's, honestly? Surely we would not be in the greatest band on the earth, and still releasing songs and albums, as well as the playing the old ones. Sure, some people are going to say their new albums suck. They doesn't suck. They are great albums on its own ways. Metallica's music is intemporal, and without Metallica, many musicians and bands these days wouldn't exist. No matter what anybody say, i will always love Metallica, and they would always fill a place in my heart.
James look better like that and Lars sometimes use the double bass on some songs,he is a great drummer maybe just getting old so it could be tireing for him double bassing through the whole concert now at his age, what u expect man he is 53
Altho it's been 8 years, I'm still amazed at how Rob was able to go from being the bassist of Suicidal Tendencies/Infectious Grooves to being the bassist of Metallica. Also add the fact that he knows a little bit of classical guitar theory on the side. Just goes to show how talented Rob really is.
Different times and each one suited Metallica perfectly at the time. Jason was a perfect fit for Justice and the black album. Live, he bought songs like Creeping Death to a new level. I loved his passion, aggression and love of bass. I think Rob fits the newer material better. That said, I think that James should just put his foot down and get back to the old school way of writing Metallica LP's and get everything done with just him and Lars - which I guess is what happened for most of the last LP since Kirk bambozzeled his iPod/iPhone or whatever he claimed to have effed up.
Luka Dejanovic helps them to seem less like rockstar and more like real dudes a lot like they did back in the 80s. say what you will about Metallica but they never really did get too onto themselves like some bands *cough* guns n roses *cough*
turn up Rob dammit! But damn, Blackened was crazy! Creeping Death was decent, they've been doing nothing but improving since Death Magnetic. AND THAT DOUBLE BASS!!! Idk if i'm the only one that noticed, but when James and Kirk play harmonies, usually one of them is outta tune. The harmony at the end of Creeping Death and the harmony solo in Blackened were perfect.
Maybe James, Lars and Rob have improved, but Kirk is on a fast and constant downfall, he keeps getting worse and worse. Hear that solo, he butchered a really good solo, its a shame, maybe his hand is fucked up or he is just fucking lazy
That moment when they go straight into Blackened! Watched it countless times. I know what's coming and it still sends chills down my spine every single time!
James voice gave me chills! Lars has stepped up his game on drumming! You can see Kirk really trying on his solos! And Rob is a straight beast! It's a good time to be a Metallica fan!!!! \m/
Always impressed with the speed of James's picking in the Blackened intro o.o Amazing performance by everyone!! James's voice is great, and everyone is at the top of their game playing-wise!
Spit out the bonesta tullut palaute on kyllä ollut nii positiivista että kyllä ne sen tulee ainakin jossain soittamaan, viimeistään worldwired kiertueella ellei aikaisemmin.
I love Metallica, but god, it's like Creeping Death HAS to stay on the live track list. I'd personally like to hear Leper Messiah, that would be bad as hell!
James voice on THIS one is killer !!! Wow the very first Creeping Death he spit I knew the video will be a pleasure to listen. Confirmed ! Happy new year Metallica I love you so much
God damn it the one week I'm outside the bay area and actually have money, Metallica does a concert in Oakland. Also, hot damn that transition into Blackened was done masterfully. You guys sounded amazing as always :D
That transition from Creep to Blackened was amazing
Metallica always switching it up on us... who would expect a Radiohead cover?
@@joe-un1ky :-D
he will forever be the downpicking master. jesus christ
michael andrews Right?? Fuck, it's like he's got titanium in his forearms instead of muscle.
michael andrews because of james is why I can only down pick too.
cokerockstop me too, i can downpick but i suck at alternate picking
Riccardo Ferrari I can do it, it's actually needed for some songs tbh lol
not_another_ken Well you can tell is so much sloppier. When James stopped playing in the last chorus of Creeping Death, Kirk was not sounding too good.
6:27 Metallica live speed down picking is out of this world
Metallica live is the best thing ever. Seeing James ripping his guitar out and Lars in the back beating those drums, it's the best thing ever. I never get tired of watching these kind of videos.
Lars has been playing quite better lately
yeah man i saw em in 83 open for raven i just got the kill em all and ride the lightning box sets and been feeding on them
C30 Nation You are right. I saw them 3 times (4th at Lollapalooza Argentina March 31!) and they're the best band live. Lars in this one was amazing. That doble bass man! Metallica IS the greatest band in the world. (sorry for my bad english).
C30 Nation exactly! Just watching James down picking is insane. Like Jesus Christ James don't BREAK YOUR FINGERS. YOURE DOWNPICKING SO FAST!!!!!!!!!!
And you see that double bass? 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Kirk was sloppy with his playing but I agree
I have immense respect for Metallica
@@nataliagonzalez1698 kirks performance on blackened was definitely a bit underwhelming but I think the rest of the band made up for it.
Agree! Without them, i wouldn't have touched guitar. Or knew Metal music
@Foo Fighter what are you trying to prove?
James with no wristbands,
Lars playing double bass...
What's going on?
Faisal Abdulrahim everything sounded amazing except for the awful Kirk solo
josueDx300 it was totally improvised and unfortunately they made it much shorter
Faisal Abdulrahim it seems like Lars has been practicing but I think Kirk hasn't
James look better like that and Lars sometimes use the double bass on some songs,he is a great drummer maybe just getting old so it could be tireing for him double bassing through the whole concert now at his age, what u expect man he is 53
It's the power of playing in home territory (Bay Area).
i love the clean and minimalist stage ^_^
Shitbeatz McStankerson they aren't. You can hear them if you're in front of them.
James sounds and looks amazing.
yeas
James hetfield jajjaajaj
I told a friend yesterday, I can't wait to start making the memes about James instead of Keith Richards in thirty years.
Agreed
Looks like he stopped drinking, started maybe training :D
He indeed looks soo awesome

Shitbeatz McStankerson and how awesome of a stage presence he has
8 years? Rob's been in since 2003. Nearly 14 years.
14 years, not 8 years
Rob also played with Ozzy for quite a good while.
Different times and each one suited Metallica perfectly at the time. Jason was a perfect fit for Justice and the black album. Live, he bought songs like Creeping Death to a new level. I loved his passion, aggression and love of bass. I think Rob fits the newer material better.

Seems inhuman to me to downpick those both songs in a row
Right? My arm kills me after creeping death
Exactly what I was thinking
Steroids
Satisfying though
All they need is Master of Puppets and you have the holy trinity.
07:17 Lars double bass in his incredible sound! Love Metellica!
6:07 best song transition EVER!
Lars sounded really good here.
Soup
Wtf Soup? What r u doin' here?
the dooooo???
Soup Lars Sabe
I don’t think I can argue this. Didn’t think I’d find you here :/

8:01 - 8:05
In the bottom left corner of the screen, is that the same guy who challenged Metallica in the recent Jimmy Kimmel show?
Martin Henriksbø the superfan guy, i think it is him
Yea he looks like him
Martin Henriksbø they gave him the tickets
I think so coz he looks just like him
I wish I had enough money to be a superfan
6:06 The downpicking master, i love you James.
Luis D. you can't blame him rythme and vocals can be tough😂
Shallex there's just some people that do
That transition in between songs was so good
I like how they're playing smaller venues. Seems more intimate and very cool.
Luka Dejanovic i do too ☺
Luka Dejanovic helps them to seem less like rockstar and more like real dudes a lot like they did back in the 80s. say what you will about Metallica but they never really did get too onto themselves like some bands *cough* guns n roses *cough*
Yes. Stadiums can be to wild its. Like people have to sit there and watch other bands play for 2 hours b4 Metallica plays
Thank you Jason Newstead for giving us one of the best metallica riffs of all time
6:57 looks like lars just bonked james in the head lol
Hilarious😂
How does nobody talk about kirk and his down picking? His is just as tight as james
Exactly
facts
James sings too, he's gotta be more focused than Kirk, even if Kirk it's amazing on his own.
@@Johnny_GC yeah, but Kirk plays lead as well. James also alters, Kirk seems to do more downpicking than James sometimes.
both master of downpicking
Holy fuck. That double bass though. 7:17
as a drummer of 23 years I can tell you Lars's drumming is super simple but works so well with james's riffs
Makes a lot of sense. They arranged songs together since day one
That transition from Creeping Death to Blackened had me in tears!!
Marco Gullone i dont know why but when the crowd started screaming DIE i was in tears
THAT DOUBLE BASS LARS, SWEEEEETTT
James Fucking Hetfield, The fastest right hand in the world.
Erik Ireland that's what she said
Go to say that to pornhub users
*Marty Friedman laughing in the distance*
Well Kirk pretty much keeps up with him without struggle
Kou Yang amen to that brother
turn up Rob dammit!
He's pretty loud with my setup. I can hear every note he's playing.
I listen on Audio Technica m-30 s and i hear the bass perfectly..
4:08 when rob released his inner Jason...
Maybe James, Lars and Rob have improved, but Kirk is on a fast and constant downfall, he keeps getting worse and worse. Hear that solo, he butchered a really good solo, its a shame, maybe his hand is fucked up or he is just fucking lazy
I was just thinking the same thing, that solo was bad...
2:56 not anyone will apreciate that rob plays this all by his hands that fast
Im sure his wife appreciates it

God i love 2016 wish we could go back. Everything about it was just good
Blackened is the best track from Metallica, pure thrash. Love it. Thanks a lot.
MY TWO FAVORITE SONGS TOGETHER!! OMG
creeping lars
Vito DiGiovanni larsened
I love the guy @3:50 for being the only one yelling "die" without a smile on his face, in fact, he looks quite angry. xD
That moment when they go straight into Blackened! Watched it countless times. I know what's coming and it still sends chills down my spine every single time!
There's no one like Metallica... and it will be forever!
I was here under 300 views, I can die in peace now.
on a metallica's video just wow
more... need more Metallica live
Blakened is the end!
No Good blackend ends of sanity
Throwing all you see
No Good for eternityyy NEVEEEEAAAA
Into obscurity...
are we gonna continue this for long.....?
I'm glad to see they are playing their old songs again.
Just from the first verse James vocals have improved a lot recently. The energy is real!
Creeping death and Blackned in sequence ? Oh God!! Very, very heavy.
I am dead!!
This is the fastest tempo I've seen them play Blackened on.
I keep coming back to this live version because damn it slays, and I've seen blackened live three times.
@cwispy Yup.
@cwispy yes..this goes way faster..after playing creeping death..so inhuman lol
u should watch the Seattle 89 version
Creeping Death will always be my favourite metal song.
That transition into Blackened is so sick!
Awesome, I use to listen to these old songs on my way to work every day.
Gotta love it when James yells "Slaves!"
That transition from creeping death straight into blackened riff is glorious. Holy fuck.
I don't care what anyone says, this is a killer performance 🤘🤘🤘
Goosebumps! Thebtransition between the two songs was perfect! Long live the Kings!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
2:57 Look at Rob slap the shit out of that bass.
I love how the mix at the end of creeping death sounds to enter the main riff of blackened
just hearing the double bass in Blackened at 7:16 is just fucking awesome, Lars still has it
Great live performance. The stage is so simple but so stylish.
INCREÍBLE!!
YA ME DIERON GANAS DE VERLOS EN VIVO.....
The end of creeping death transitioning into blackened is the best thing I've heard from Metallica.
6:05 Blackened Starts
Still one of the best riffs of them
great to see they still badass
James voice gave me chills! Lars has stepped up his game on drumming! You can see Kirk really trying on his solos! And Rob is a straight beast! It's a good time to be a Metallica fan!!!! \m/
I could not said better. They still have it so much
Always impressed with the speed of James's picking in the Blackened intro o.o
Amazing performance by everyone!! James's voice is great, and everyone is at the top of their game playing-wise!
I wonder are they gonna play spit out the bone at all
Ranskulainen They will probubly play almost every song from the new album when the "real" Worldwired tour starts :D

omg lars
nailed the double bass
He still is a great drummer
Jhoao Obando He's been practicing lol
metallica 2016/2017 is awesome!
Great energy form the crowd. Maybe this is the best thing for them right now, performing on enclosed spaces like that auditorium...
These two are easily my favorite Metallica songs
digging this. they all seem rejuvenated by all the postive feedback from Hardwired :)
troy mclean probably so
back vocals are amazing here ❤
at 6:57 it looks like Lars smacks the shit out of james on the head and then James is like, "i felt it, like voodoo eddy.." xD
Pure gold
Every time I hear Rob's vocals I miss Jason's that much more.....
GODDAAAAAAMN!!!!!!!!! That Solo on Creeping Death, Kirk killed it man!!!!! And when James started playing Blackened! WOOOOOOOOOOHHHH
DOUBLE BASS! LARS IS BACK!
Small venues the crowd right up close the 4 of them loving it & holy shit the > Blackened from Creep…2 masterpieces
Sounds like Kirk forgot the Blackened solo
Amazing! After this many years I still go wow watching these songs!
did they cut the solo short in blackened?
Yea, Kirk skipped the tappy part and a few others
absurd207 not cut short but changed to something different
i just noticed it in a few other videos, they totally changed that part for some reason.
Its Lars. He hasnt been able to play those weird fills on time since the Black Album Tour. Theyve cut out that little section ever since.
They have played it that way for a long time. I don't remember when was the last time I heard Kirk playing the whole solo of Blackened.
Two of the hardest rhythm guitar songs by Metallica’s standards in a consecutive fashion, badass
Sounding great guy's! Yes that includes you to Lars. lol
I had such a fun time. It was an amazing show. Worth all the money and bruises lol. It was fun to find myself in this video. Thanks 'Tallica!
I love Metallica, but god, it's like Creeping Death HAS to stay on the live track list. I'd personally like to hear Leper Messiah, that would be bad as hell!
The whole band is sounding great here. Awesome!
Fuck Yeah!
Haven't felt that much energy at a Metallica show since '89, lost my mind!!
Doesn't Metallica know that we all want "Spit Out The Bone" LIVE??
Mike Riddle well I hope they find that out soon!
They are probably waiting for the official tour of the album begins to play it
Mike Riddle If they don't play Spit out the bone live in Boston next year... Im buying a megadeth t-shirt 😒

You guys sounded amazing as always :D
The transition into blackened is pure gold 👌👌😍
I still think Metallica In Drop Tunings is the best
-T-X-M- The thing that should not be?
The Thing That Should Not Be is in D Standard, not drop D. If you're playing it in drop D, you're playing it wrong.
+May Michelle Marquardt You can still play it in Drop D though
So, that makes it right? It's okay to take a lazy shortcut instead of doing it the right way? Good guitarists don't need shortcuts.
May Michelle Marquardt So covers are wrong too or what? Everyone has their own way of playing things..
GOD I love the stage design! So simple and classy.
Lars is CLEARLY getting better and better
nah
now Kirk needs to get better...
Mr. Man Lars is the worst metal drumer ever! Hes got a medíocre habilities compare to the others, but James come everething better!
Luivan Santos good for you then
Mr. Man And it makes me happy :D
Loved that transition !!!
Kirk gotta start playing more
crysata or just *stop* playing altogether.
crysata it's called arthritis pal.
DoomGhoul man, where do you hear what Kirk have artritis?
crysata Kirk does have arthritis bad in his hands no secret.
Yeah im sorry, kirk played those solos perfectly i don't know what im talking about...
That transition though... OUTSTANDING....
