Great video! I never heard of this tree before. The way it was grafted is very odd. I can see how the graft union can get fungus and decease problems, if covered with soil or mulch. It’s a bad idea to cover graft union, so I’m glad you’ve uncovered it. I successfully propagated longans through the air layer before, but grafting is definitely better, while giving tree a tap root system. Good luck with your new tree! Wish I’d have more room to plant more trees!
I got one and have the same concern as how it was grafted. I'm also worried about root rotten when the soil is wet. Want to put it in the ground but hesitating.
