Note to self: DO NOT HARD PRUNE MY LONGAN AFTER HARVEST. 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for that tip! Actually, I’m only on my first season with a year old grafted Kohala, and I just posted a video to ask what mine was doing. Apparently it’s flowering. 😂 I gotta do research on this tree, lol. Have a blessed day! ❤
Hi, I want to buy purple sugar cane, the one you got rid off. Is the purple sugar cane soft to chew on? Also, I want the black sugar cane. How can I find your ebay listing? Thanks in advance.
The purple was tough, not good to chew so I got rid of it. I don’t have any left to sell. The link to the black canes is below. www.ebay.com/itm/304892451848?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=lc1yb46sRW6&sssrc=2051273&ssuid=lc1yb46sRW6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@@thenoobgardener Good to know, as I almost bought 5 root cuttings of purple sugarcane! I also didn’t know there was a black variety. 🤔 I should do more research on sugarcane before trying to attempt growing that too. 😂
@@thenoobgardener My tree is only about 3 ft high. The seller told me i would have to wait about 3 to 5 years to get some fruits. Your tree is so beautiful. I'm so excited about my tree. I am still hoping I'll get lucky and get a few longans this year!
I have a 10-12ft tall Kohala Longan and never had fruits off of it. It is an airlayered tree and just wondering what water requirements & fertilizer needed. I've had this tree now for 4 to 5yrs now.
Maybe overwatering? At 4-5 years, maybe water it once a month or check the soil before you water; only water if the top 2 inches are dried. I see that you have Jaboticaca, they like water and would still thrive even in standing water. I use 16-16-16 fertilizer from Homedepot. This is what I would do if I were you since this season is already over if it hasn't flowered yet. - Cut down on the water. - Don't fertilize anymore until next spring after it had already flowered. - Prune the branches back 4-6 inches at the end of August (this is when you would harvest). - If it doesn't flower by Jan-Feb next year, try this method. ruclips.net/video/FhZgGPT6yWM/видео.html
I'm not an expert so I'm not sure what signs to look for. But usually Longans are airlayered and they are ready to flower and produce in their first season. Or a couple if it needs to get the root system established. My tree produced the first season after I bought it.

Are you getting flowers this season? I just planted my longan tree and i think it's growing some flowers.
Nice! and yes, it's budding. Looks like it's going to be a lot of flowers. Hoping for 500 fruits this season. Good luck with your tree.

You should get a few. I had like 10 fruits the first year. GL

@thenoobgardener yes I collect many jabo varieties. Yes they love water 💧
@@gardengainzz9191 I have one that I have been neglecting. Just moved it to a new/better location. Hopefully it’ll fruit for me. Any tips?
Any updates on the fingerlime cuttings!??
Checked it a month ago and it was starting to root. I’ll check it again in a week and post an update video. Hopefully it has some roots now.
What are signs of a longon tree before its ready to flowers
