Wow! So healthy! Mine went through a couple days of 100+ heat, scorched leaves, but hanging in there. It hurt to see that eighth fruit get pinched off 😄Thanks for sharing.
Good luck with your tree!
Do you add any liquid fertilizer while they're fruiting or just a normal watering? Nice video as always
Thanks. Just the 16-16-16 synthetic fertilizer from Home Depot. It worked well last season so I didn’t want to change things up.
Does home grown dragon fruit taste better than from grocery store?
It's fresher; hence, it tastes better in my opinion.
I wanna try it on my Barbados Cherry, and I already have a fertilizer. and I am lazy:)
I'm having the same issues. My Barbados Cherry blooms a lot but no fruits. Could be that I don't have enough pollinators.
@@thenoobgardener my Barbados cherry doesn't bloom a lot. I am not sure if it's a pollination issue
Hopefully you’ll get a couple. I had a couple last season.
I recently bought cherimoya in grocery store, it was imported from chili or peru. I really like it, it wasn't very sweet:) I collected 83 seeds:) which I am going to plant and do grafting. I've never tried sugar apple. And my sugar apple pollinated without my effort and has 1 fruit. Doesn't increase in size that much despite I am in Florida and it's still hot. What's the reason a lot of people grow sugar apple and not cherimoyas? As far I understood cherimoya tastes better than sugar apple.
No Cherimoyas or Atemoyas in Florida because it's too hot - Great weather for sugar apples though. They like the cool climates along the Pacific coast.
@@thenoobgardener do you think i can still use cherimoyas as a rootstock?
@@EffectivePickyEatersSolutions I’m not sure. Wouldn’t hurt to try.
Regarding scale issue, do you see a lot of ants?
yes, ants everywhere
@@thenoobgardener get rid off them:)
First time saw this kind of fruit, thanks for sharing!
Buah itu manis sekali❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wonderful video. Do you harvest when fully ripen or when they're still green?
Have not harvest this tree yet. But typically still green. However, I might leave one on tree until it’s ripen and make a video to show you guys.
What spray bro?
Check out the link below. Was purchased on Amazon. Surprise results when using Foliage Spray on Dragon Fruit!! ruclips.net/video/ssQHcrE9Fq0/видео.html
Looks good 👍🏾 what are you feeding it?
Some 16-16-16 general fertilizer from homedepot but mainly water 😅
Nice! That's encouraging. I love jujubes!!! I pick up whatever variety I can get my hands on 😂 I have never had the Thai Green Giant jujube before, but I picked one up this year. Probably won't get any fruits this season but excited to see yours flowering.
Hello, how do you know a fruit is ready to be harvested, do you go by its color, or softness of the fruit? thank you.
The color and how the fruit looks (from experience). If by softness then it has already ripen on the tree. Typically, if you harvest early enough, it takes a week for the fruit to ripen afterward. This way, you can give it as a gift and ship them anywhere in the US.
Hello, now it's September and my tree is full of baby cherimoyas, is this the time to trim extra branches? Can you tell us how to trim without hurting the tree at this time/season? thank you!
Hey there, a full trim is before Spring (right before they send out new growth). This is the time when you shape your trees. Check out my video below on how I prune my trees - link below. ruclips.net/video/TKhuj9u1vD0/видео.html Typically people only prune once and that's it. However, I prune twice because I like my trees clean and pretty and this is the time when I do it. Check out my latest video below. As long as you don't prune it excessively, your trees will be fine. ruclips.net/video/fGHtE0TxN2U/видео.html Good luck with your trees.
Nice, mine has a lot of flowers for a month now but no fruit yet.
Nice, Hopefully mine gets a least one fruit.
Sangat menarik teman bagus sekali❤❤❤❤❤
Have you tasted a Queen Guava before getting it? I got a "Watermelon Guava" last year, never had it before. It too was air-layered so I'm just going to let it fruit whatever it can because I want to taste it already! 😁🤞🤞 Good luck!
Yes a long time go, almost back to my childhood time. I heard of the watermelon guava name before, good luck with your tree!! Next I’m gonna learn if grafting guava is possible and graft a few more varieties to my tree if it’s possible.
The fruits are looking great! I need more atemoya varieties 😂 so addicting! Guess I better learn how to graft 😁. Great idea on pruning again, that should thicken and strengthen up branches to hold the fruits. Nice!
Thanks!! It is addicting 😅
Wow, that’s a lot of 🍌…… I have ice cream bananas and typically only get around 50ish per bunch. Your plant’s health looks perfect fine 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Thanks!
Pisang apa itu namanya teman❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏
Namwah. It’s a Thai cultivar.
Iam from India your ❤❤❤😊
Bottle gourd ❤❤😊
Beautiful garden ❤❤
Thank you!
Currently growing my cherimoya seedlings right now in NYC. So far so good. I plan to build a medium size greenhouse next year. I hope I can get it fruit eventually. Ty for the tips
Good Luck!!
Excellent! How long from bloom till ripe fruit?
First year with this much fruits so I'm not sure. However, it took a little bit over two weeks for them to get as big as in the video so I'm thinking maybe 1.5 - 2 months....
You need to find powdery mildew resistant variety
yes.....but I never thought it would get this bad....
Beautiful ❤
Thank you!
Nice!!! Are you still doing foliage spray? I am curious when you spray do you just spray on leaves or doesn't matter?
Yes, still doing the spray. I'll stop once the fruits have matured to a pink/red color. I spray over/under the leaves and the droplets fall on top/bottom of the leaves. I'm very generous with these two trees :)
@@thenoobgardener Cool...so this is safe even the spray droplets touch the fruit, correct? I am starting to spray on my guava tree and was worry the droplets touch the fruit 🙂
@@MrCiscodude yes it should be according to the manufacture.
Where do u buy a blue java plant?
eBay n unfortunately it’s not a blue Java. It’s a regular namwah. Tasted pretty good. The bud is great as well.
That looks incredibly beautiful!
Thanks
In Socal, sapodilla wont set fruit until after october. You should treat sooty mould desease on your tree and add more fertilizer
I see. Thanks for the info, I think I somewhat knew that but forgot…..yes, I’ll try to treat the mold. I think I have enough fertilizer in already.
Looks VERY unhealthy, does it even get enough water? it looks like it has either heat or fertilizer burn.
Really? I think it looks decent. I water it once a week and it does get hot where it’s located.
Sir,question: how to see the diff between sugar apple and atemoya leaves? They look similar. Pardon my english, Sir. And Thanks........
It’s hard to tell with the leaves. However, typically, atemoya leaves are bigger than sugar apple leaves.
@@thenoobgardener Yes Sir indeed........Thx for the answer. GBU.
Yeah.....he have a lot of scions......scion paradise......lol. I love it too,but maybe they will cost a lot to Bali.😂😂😂
remove the pup that comes up on the side closer to the dragon fruit, then other pups will come up on the other side.
I removed this tree completely already. It was shading my dragon fruit
actually, the shape of the banana don't look like Namwah. maybe when it develops a little more, will look different :)
You’re right. It’s not namwah, this video is old and I have already harvested this tree.
did you harvest any fruit? did they taste good?
No, have not had any to harvest for the past 3 years. It had one fruit the first year and it was good
Absolutely beautiful banana tree. How long did it take to grow from the ground to that height?
Thank you. 1.5 years.
I’ve been watering mine every 2 days. Fruits set way more than last year. They love water
Nice. Maybe I’ll try to water it more.
Could you have spider mites? I seen some webbing. Every time I have webbing I have nasty spider mites that kill my citrus blooms and the citrus also. Good luck
It’s possible. I’ll try neem oil next season.
You look like you may have mealy bugs or scales. I see some sooty mold. Alano Sapodilia needs space to grow. That's not a gd spot for that tree.
@@valchris11 I do have scales and sooty mold :( I'll try to treat them soon.... and you are right that it's not in an ideal location. however, it's above my roof line now, should be better.
How often are you watering your tree?. And once your tree is that big I would water only2 x week. Not heavy either also fertilizer3 x a year . m May wanna check other videos as well on how to care for a sapodilla tree!.
I water it twice a week now and not heavy. Fertilized it on time and not with the foliage spray and nothing seem to work 😅
Nice video. I see you apply the foliar spray to your dragonfruit and wax apple. Do you apply it to your atemoyas as well?
Thank you. No, they do fine without it prior so I didn’t want to introduce it to them.
Other gardeners recommended to keep the leaf on the tree to protect the fruits during the winter time.
I see.
Damn.......i want this tree badly😂
Wooowwww......another scion paradise😅😅😅
Lol
Hi any update on your sapodilla?
It’s blooming but nothing set yet………
@@thenoobgardener so I having the same problem. I have an 6 year old Alano. I got 1 fruit last winter and right now it is carrying about 7 from last year. The tree is good size. I just watched a youtube video from QC tropicals and he gave several reasons why sapodilla tree is not fruiting. If you search on youtube "sapodilla tree not fruiting", his video will come up. I will try setting an overhead cover for the tree to see if I can get more fruit from it. My tree has at hundreds of buds right now.
@@jamestnguyen2165 I’ll check it out. Thank you.
Your tree looks amazing! What are those traps? I've never seen before. We have squirrel cage traps that we should have put out, they've eaten lots of plums and peaches already. I definitely do not want to lose any of my jujubes to the critters. Please let us know how it goes. Thanks for sharing.
They’re rat traps. It somewhat works. The other days I saw half eaten jujubes on the ground, so, maybe not 100%. But it helps I think.
noob have you seen dominicos?, bigges tree ever.
No I have not.
looks smol
Dear Noob, I have set cherimoya with hand pollination so I understand the principle. However, I've been unable to set Geffner or Lisa atemoya. I have noticed that they do not turn male until the second day. My queue is to wait for them to open AND have that nice attractive sweet smell before pollinating. Lots of flowers this year and new to me plant. So far all I get is the little pea staying for a few days then turning black and falling off. I've collected pollen and stored in 'fridge for no more than 2 days. I use a paint brush like in your videos. Any suggestions, thanks.
Do you have more than one trees? Try cross pollinating and saving pollens never worked for me. So try timing it as best as you can. Gefner and Lisa are easy to set. Use AP pollens if you got some, it sets everything.
@thenoobgardener thank you for the reply. Today I used geffner mixed with lisa pollen. Is it your experience that lisa will be female for two days before going male. Mine do that, so I changed to second day. I love your channel, live in Camirillo just north of you.
@@robertlindeman8682 this is my first year with a Lisa scion so I did not keep track. But I mainly use AP pollens, it sets everything.
OMG, scion paradise😅, i need those 😂❤❤❤
Lol
