I cannot tell you how happy I get when I see you e posted a video! I have about 100 houseplants, but I also have ADHD, so every once in a while I go from hyperfocusing on my plants to being overwhelmed by them. I’ve made a deal with myself that at least once a day I’ll pop on one of your videos and care for my plants while I listen to you chat. It calms and focuses me and makes my day so much better. Thank you Claire. ❤

Omg I can totally relate to this! I'm currently waiting for an Adult ADHD referral, as I tick all the boxes, but I hadn't thought about how it affects my plant owning... I did wonder why one minute I can be absolutely obsessed with my plants and then next I basically lose all interest, and reading your comment makes so much sense, so thank you ❤️

Same here. You are in good company. I just recently went on a spending spree purchasing a ton of things for my plants after a period of neglecting them (and sadly losing some). The ups and the downs, the ins and the outs are all part of the ride.

Your tips on propagating during the winter months are so on point. I typically don't propagate during the winter months but after viewing your video I now feel confident that I can. I won't go crazy with propagating but it's assuring to know that I can. Thanks so much💚🪴

I do similar, I have a stack of prop boxes and put heat mats under every second one - then one gets bottom heat which is obviously best for propping, but the other gets heat from the top so still good!
Then I have a fish tank and just bought a cheap but FABULOUS small greenhouse (1.6m tall, 70cm wide) - light, portable, easy to set up - and sat it on a heat mat, so I can prop things that like more airflow on the bottom on the heat mat then grow on things like anthuriums on the middle shelf then start things that like moss poles up the top - the heat mat keeps the whole thing warm and one growlight does the job - perfect!
I actually much prefer winter propagations because you can control the temperature - here in Australia it gets up to 46 degrees C in a bad summer, and the plants tend not to like that any more than I do...! Winter is too cold for them here but heat mats sort that out easily, I swear by them! I am also a sphagnum fan!!

With that particular snake plant the laurentii and perhaps other variegated ones, in order to keep the variegation you have to prop an entire pup or else it just re grows without the yellow along the sides. They’re so cool to propagate though!

KLN by Dynagro will stimulate root growth in cuttings. I soak moss in KLN-water and add it to my waterprops. I also water seedlings and cuttings that I’ve moved into soil with it 🙂

Hi, I love your videos. I was so glad to see another one up. I have tried to propagate the M. Standleyana Albo a few times, both bought props and swapped props and they have all died at some point. I do have a full plant, but I bought it that way. I do so very hope you have better look than I have in the past. Happy planting!!

The pothos cutting tip is so helpful because I have tried snake plants in the past, and gave up. I will give this tip a try. My winter cuttings took forever from December to now. My pothos cuttings didn't work so I am doing it over now that it is getting warmer in the USA south. Only my tradescentia zebrina cutting established.

Same! I’ve had a rooted Albo cutting for 6 months now and zero growth! However, Claire’s amazing tip about using a pothos cutting to promote root growth (which I saw a week ago) has helped in lots of new root growth. That has been the most helpful and wonderful plant hack ever!
