    Thanks to "TheBloke" for catching something in the video. I used the keyboard shortcut "A" around 5 minutes in the video to add a matte control. Those are custom keyboard shortcuts made by "statixVFX" as part of Reactor, which is a free set of scripts. Specifically the script I have installed is "nuke2fusion". Here is a link if you would like to know more about Reactor:

    So many useful little bits of wisdom embedded in this tutorial, and it's got just the right level of complexity to bamboozle me a little, but still make me want to dig deeper. Thank you!

    What if you would like to add a second patch to a spot close in proximity to the first one, but with a completely different colour and pattern? Where would the second polygon and second paint node go in relation to everything?
    I am guessing if you make further cuts to the earlier clips in the video you would have to change the frame number in the time stretcher too, right?
    I appreciate this tutorial.

    • @prophetless
      @prophetless  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks! This is just one approach. If you wanted to do a second paint you could copy (from the time stretcher to the planar tracker) and just use another branch from the original clip, as long as the tracking works for the area you want to do the second patch. And merge it before or after the other patch.

      @CookingJJ Месяц назад

      @@prophetless Thanks. I tried to copy process after tracking the second area; however, the paint clone was not functioning - nothing was being drawn on. I'm also not sure if the merge was working and whether I attached it to the correct spot. I may need to see a visual of all of the branches to get the essence of everything. At least I managed to do the first patch.

      Put a merge right after the first merge with the first paint. The first merge should go into the background of the second merge and the second paint should go into the foreground of the second merge. Let me know if that works.

      @@prophetless I shall give this a shot. Luckily I have clips to work with for when I have a moment to take time to learn the process. Anything with a deadline, I can simply find workarounds. Thank-you so much!🙏 I'll look out for other useful videos you have created too.

    Hi Bryan, thanks for the tutorial. Very good. Quick question: At 5:00 you said "With the Paint selected, let's press A to add a Matte Control". Could you explain how that happened? I'd never heard of doing that before, and pressing A isn't adding a MatteControl for me when I have Paint selected, or any other node. Tested in both Resolve Studio 16 and Fusion Studio 16. Is this a hotkey you've set up yourself, or else how is this happening?

    • @prophetless
      @prophetless  4 года назад +2

      Haha. You know what, you're right. I just checked. I have Reactor installed and I have the nuke2fusion script installed. It sets up a bunch of hotkeys for common tools. Sorry about making you think you were losing your mind and thanks for reaching out to let me know.
      I'll pin a post with the correction and a link for those interested in Reactor.
      Thanks!

      @@prophetless Ahh! I'd seen that script, but having never used Nuke I didn't think it would be of any interest. Those shortcuts look really useful though, I will have to try that script out. Thanks for the fast reply!

    hey #Prophetless this video saved my clients reshoots, would like to know instead of using the paint node is there a way to copy the neighboring pixels around the mask and place it within the mask just like you did for the paint node, sometimes the paint doesn't give the best finish

    • @prophetless
      @prophetless  3 года назад

      Hi Amresh, I'm glad the video helped. Yes, many other options to do object removal. With the same setup you could remove the paint node and use a transform to slide the stabilized plate underneath too as long as the pixels are similar enough. The example in this video is for when that doesn't work out.

      Hey John, one option is you can use offset tracking like in this video: ruclips.net/video/7LDqxUXgYm0/видео.html

    Hi Brian and thanks for this tutorial. Anyway: I have a bunch of “impossible” (for me) shots like this ruclips.net/video/R2UWwc8vSkw/видео.html where I'd like to remove the road sign at 6th second. It's a nightmare scenario where the road sign is moving in front of water reflections' parallax carnival. I tried different approaches with Davinci/Fusion, but I can't solve: basically I can't decently reconstruct the complex multi-parallax effect on the water behind the road sign in the few frames it appears (on the water, the dark shadows go faster than the brighter shadows of the railing and the street lamps, those are, in turn, faster than the shadows of the houses...) What I'm asking for is simply a direction: what should I focus on to achive this removing-goal? Free painting? Some kind of tracking? Projectors?
    Thanks in advance for Your kind help.

    • @prophetless
      @prophetless  4 года назад +1

      Yes that looks like it might be a pretty difficult shot. The sign moves by pretty fast though, it looks like you might be able to stabilize and just clone from the frame before or after, then reintroduce the animation once you have it cleaned up. If that doesn't get you there maybe a 3d track , projection/paint and probably have to separate each shadow/reflection because of the movement.

      @@prophetless Dear Brian thanks for your reply. I tried the “frame before / frame after” tecnique and it doesn't work at all. Almost surely I'll have to separate reflections into 3 or 4 different-speed groups. But it sounds too advanced for me (I'm pretty much a newbie in Fusion stuff). If you were interested to make a tutorial on this specific tecnique, please consider to use my shot :)
