      Inside the 3D plane under blend mode, choose the blend mode for which type of renderer you are using. If you are trying to blend in 3D I think the software renderer option might be the way to go. Of course that depends on what effect you are trying to achieve.

    Wow. This is the best tutorial on Surface Tracker there is. Good and detailed. I just wanted to know how to add motion blur to Surface Tracker, but found a full guide. Since then they moved motion blur to another tab and left only 1 slider, but I think the quality is very good. They also changed the way tracked points are moved: when you hold Ctrl (on Windows) there is no dotted line you draw, but just a selection tool and you cannot rotate them anymore. All other things were not changed. Unfortunately in my case I was not able to do such a good job as you in the tutorial. I needed to replace 2 images on a white sheet of paper that a person holds. I still have some artifacts here and there. Maybe I just lack practice. Hopefully next time I'll do a better job. Thank you for your tutorial.

      Thanks! I'm getting ready to do another video and plan on using the surface tracker for part of it. I'll have to look into those changes. That would be unfortunate if they got rid of the option to rotate the points.

      @VadimID Месяц назад

      @@prophetless I decided to check how Surface Tracker works on Color Page and it works exactly as in your video, but on Fusion page even vertices look different, you can select them only with rectangular selection and I haven't found a way to scale or rotate them, only move. I'm on Davinci 19.0.3. and found a discussion on Reddit: "Surface tracker in Fusion Issues" in ver 18.6. People complain about too big points on Fusion page and normal size on Color page. It looks like now they just changed the way points work on Fusion page, but left them the same on Color Page. I hope at least tracking algorithm is the same on both pages.

    • @prophetless

      You're Welcome! and thanks! The first thing I can think of is that the keyframes are offset. Which will make it not work properly. Check the frame numbers to see if the keyframes are somewhere else and you can move them into place. That is very common, usually it's just one frame but if you have frames starting at something like frame 1000 in syntheyes you wouldn't see them in Blender. The other thing that is very common is what versions of both software you are using. Exports and Import scripts change over time. Let me know if any of that helps.

      Yes it does, but when we did the paint for the cleanup we started getting holes in our paint. That's because the edges of the image can be transparent after it is stabilized in some situations. Removing the first planar tracker and using a still frame instead is just another approach to object removal that you can use if you run into issues like transparent pixels. Around 13:50 it's discussed.

      @@prophetless Does that mean, the steady part is actually just for our paint process ? and it needs to be remove either way, because we are going to invert the stabilization ?

      To the first question yes. We are stabilizing the video to make it easier to paint. You could track each one of the clone strokes to match the movement but you may find that to be more complicated. On the second question there is no need to remove the stabilized planar tracker(the first one) if you are not getting holes in your paint. A lot of times you will not have that problem. Using a still frame as opposed to a stabilized plate is a possible solution for when you do have those issues(transparent pixels). The draw back of using a still frame is you usually need to add back in grain and may have color variations if the lighting changes in the scene.
