I love how the Kia sitting on the streets for one whole year seems to have a New Hampshire plate on it.
I think the New Hampshire plate was probably from a license plate collection of his. In the original Kia Spectra video, it had an Alabama plate on it.
Removing the front end for a timing belt change was a common practice on all Audi’s from that era.

+Kyle Pasta The diesels were pretty much indestructible though. I know a guy who has this car with a manual transmission and a diesel. The engine has over 320 000 kms on it and the transmission is still the original one. Maybe they just skimped on quality for the US versions?

Actually, the US also got the fine 4.2L V8 with 5 valves per cylinder. More rare, but probably marginally more reliable (no turbos to replace? Not sure how the transmission would like it though.
We got several engines in the C5 generation, including the 2.7TT, the 2.8L N/A, the 3.0L, and the 4.2L V8. I probably missed one or two, but I've been driving an '00 A6 2.8 Quattro for a long time now, and it's never been a problematic or expensive car to own. Then again, both my family and myself are fairly technically inclined and we do our own work at home.
Religious maintenance is key with any luxury or sports car, and it's kept mine going w/o issues for almost twenty years.

I had a 2003 Audi Allroad 2.7L twin turbo that lasted until 300,000 miles (and 17+ years) when it rusted out to the point that it could not be fixed without investing a substantial amount of money. It still ran incredibly well but leaked and burned oil like crazy. I still miss the thing.
