Material objects are not “making it.” Realizing one’s full potential in all personality aspects important to said person, eg charity, kindness, skill sharpening, utility, etc are much closer to “making it,” when “making it” is defined as distance traveled on the path to pursue happiness. Doug, You guys are fun to watch, I think you have stumbled onto something here. You need to do a semi-regular segment with Kennan so we can enjoy you both more often... The Other Doug
My three somewhat practical “dream” choices that I’m planning to own in some capacity eventually: Porsche 911 Turbo S for weekend getaways with the wife Rivian R1S for daily driving around kids with the third row or picking up groceries or going on road trips Ford F-150 Lightning for hauling around lumber and other large items and towing I skewed towards electric because this would be in the future but still want at least one gas car to rip around in.
If you have two or less kids, use an R1T for family hauling, road trips, and lumber\etc. Then you get one more spot in the garage for another dream car. (I haul a toddler and baby in the R1T and, so far, it's perfect for it. Gear tunnel + bed with tonneau = more storage than an R1S. Nonetheless, I dig your garage. Excellent taste.)
Hey Doug, I have a fun exercise for the two of you to try. You get just one car for every letter of the alphabet. For the letter A, you could have any Acura, OR any Audi, OR any Aston Martin, etc., but you only get one car starting with the letter A. For the letter B, you could have any BMW, Bugatti, Buick, etc., but only one car starting with the letter B. Money is no object, and every letter is up for grabs, so potentially a 26 car garage if you get into things like Qoros and XPeng. I'll do this in my head, and for some letters I find it to be surprisingly easy, while for others it can be exceptionally difficult.
Awesome concept! For me it would have to be 1. New 4x4^2 G Class (daily) 2. Pagani Huayra (sports cad) 3. MB 300 SL Gullwing (classic) Why? Firstly, I’m an engineer so the portal axels on the G^2 make me nerd-out as well as making the car vastly more capable than your standard bro dozer lifted truck. I do some light off-roading and frequently drive on rough roads so having a daily with some clearance and supreme comfort would be the dream. Secondly, the Huayra is an art piece to me and I think it’s the most beautiful car ever made. I’ve also sat on one and I found the materials to be really nice and the seats fit me well. Thirdly, I would get a classic gullwing as I’m a huge classic Mercedes fan and that’s the pinnacle of classic Benzs. Finally, I could make the Benz dealer mechanic suffer as I force them to service all three of my highly-specialized cars at the same dealership lol. Jokes aside it would make living with them less stressful.
@@JS2000A I don't know what to say, the new 4x4^2 has IFS, which is obviously a downgrade in terms of off road performance to please those who only want it to show off and won't ever go off the pavement, the old one had both solid axles and, if we are talking off road, nothing beats solid axles.
My current garage is basically my dream: Ford GT, Ariel atom V8, Tesla plaid (daily), (Ducati 1298). But, if I had my druthers, Porsche 918 Spyder (daily), miura, la Ferrari.
Doug, Iove this infinite money three car challenge. For me this is very, very easily. As much as I love performance in cars and history, I want cars that I can use on a day to day basis, so I reduced my choices to categories. First is my day to day car that should be comfortable enough to carry passengers with me. Second is my SHTF or my “for some reason I am going to Moab this weekend, or, it’s snowing and damn I need to go to Costco” car. My third car is my performance car, but more than being fast, I want it to be fun, I want it to make beautiful sounds, I want the steering to be communicative, it needs to be a manual, and I want the option of taking the top off so that my hair blows in the wind when I drive it on weekends. I may drive it to a cars and coffee from time to time. I don’t want the attention someone gets when driving a super car. All that said, here are my choices; 1 Brabus Restorations 1970 Mercedes 300 SEL 6.3 2 Proffit’s Resurrection Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiser 3 Singer Porsche 911 Targa All these are understated, well-built, classic and beautiful, and those in the know will know they’re special, very special, and I can use them and enjoy them daily for their designed purpose, all the while remaining unbothered with long stays in the shop, enjoying the timeless elegance, ruggedness, and fine tailoring of each to and for their purpose. Moreover, they are bespoke and fit my personal tastes to the extent that I am willing to spend money, perfect for a money is no object challenge.
Wow, I spent the last 46 years of my childhood (😉) playing this game! These days my choice would be: 1-Daily, an Alpina B5 touring full loaded. 2-Exotic, an old school V12 Ferrari 575 Superamerica manual swapped. 3-Sheer fun, a Lancia 037 customized as a targa.
Thanks to Doug, he solidified a 2019/2020 Mustang GT350 as my attainable dream car. S2000 is on that list too. Just something about those high RPM screamers that gets me going.
This is a rarity - two car enthusiasts having a civil discussion on the internet. Usually the ones i witness, people are tearing each other apart and it's way less civil - i like these kinds of videos! I want Kennan on more, and maybe even more guests!
I've played this game many times and have refined my list over the years to the three following cars: 1) Early (round tail light) BMW 2002 with an E30 M3 drivetrain (with appropriate brake and suspension upgrades). Daily. 2) Mercedes W123 wagon with either an AMG Hammer drivetrain, or just an LS9 with a 6 speed (again, with appropriate brake and suspension upgrades). Roadtrip and grocery getter. 3) Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer 710M pretty much stock (maybe upgraded to EFI and electronic ignition). For off-road and truck duties. If we're adding a 4th, this is where I get silly and go Singer 911.
@@SHENRAR [points at my username] Clearly I have a soft spot for German vehicles. I've owned a couple of 2002s over the years and really miss both of them.
@@Zundfolge I have a soft spot for japanese off roaders, specially my Nissan Patrol (I had a 92 and now I have a 2009). To each their own, I appreciate some German cars, specially old Porsches and Mercedes, but they wouldn't make it to my 3 car garage.
Doug is the type of guy to have a car more expensive than his house. Seriously though, you need to reinforce your garage for earthquakes. Would be a shame!!
I love this type of videos. If the budget permitted, I would not be able to settle on just 3 cars, but here's what I thought of (). - G55 AMG (torn between this and Q7 V12 TDI) - BMW E38 L7 - Jaguar XKR S GT (torn between this and MC Stradale) Though I'll probably change my mind 10 (times this week), especially since none of the above have a manual transmission.
As great as the McLaren F1 is. The Gordon Murray T.50 will be a worthy successor to it. That car is launching now and it is literally the perfect automobile.
My 3 cars are : Aston Martin Valkyrie (because I'm an F1 fan) Rolls Royce Cullinan (because I want something luxury and comfortable) Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate (my daily driver)
Here's my dream 3: A needed big car - Mercedes Benz G63 AMG 6x6: This fills a lot of boxes: usability, off-roading (especially dessert, like that Top Gear episode), uniqueness and the parts which are from Mercedes. It does take a lot of eyes for some obvious reasons (like being a G-wagon on steroids) and I find it really attractive. A needed sedan / coupe - Koenigsegg Gemera: This car does everything a car should do: it can be practical, it's Koenigsegg fast and the tech might be in insane levels. The fuel would be a problem, however money's no limit if I could ever afford a car like that. It is the ultimate 1-car garage in my opinion. And finally, a sports car - Pagani Huayra or Bugatti Divo: This could go wherever and I still would be satisfied, both of them are throwable in track or on roads, they drive great, with what the reviews have said, and they still feel great looking them from the exterior to the interior. Pagani has the advantage of being more practical than Divo and sounding better, but the Bugatti is faster and more sleek, but they're still the best sports cars that money can buy(IMO).
I was sure the year would end badly for me but I think Amazons AWS44X is spot on with what they do and how they do it. Can't say for how long it's gonna work effectively and for sure it is overyhped right now but even for half a year or something it would be smart to ride the wave and then eventually jump away but the thing is why this is smart right now is because it's so cheap, won't ever find a better entry than now
I miss my E39 M5!! Truly one of the BEST cars of all time! But I got so tired of shifting in LA traffic that once dual clutch automatics hit the scene I jumped ship. Still regret it today!
10:15 - That's why my ideal sports car is the Corvette. It's within spitting distance of any car on the road for performance (within reason, of course), and it's a high volume vehicle. If something breaks, just take it in for service and they'll give you a fresh part off the shelf. Plus, the infotainment features are all tried and tested from a highly experienced manufacturer. Super cars can't come close.

This is a rarity - two car enthusiasts having a civil discussion on the internet. Usually the ones i witness, people are tearing each other apart and it's way less civil - i like these kinds of videos! I want Kennan on more, and maybe even more guests!
Whoever edited this video is awesome,
the zoom in timing is hilarious!
I've played this game many times and have refined my list over the years to the three following cars:
1) Early (round tail light) BMW 2002 with an E30 M3 drivetrain (with appropriate brake and suspension upgrades).

I was reading your list and rolling my eyes (I dont care about bmw or mercedes that much) then I read Pinzgauer. That's the real deal!
@@SHENRAR [points at my username] Clearly I have a soft spot for German vehicles. I've owned a couple of 2002s over the years and really miss both of them.
Idk if modified cars count, if they do, a VW Golf cross-country with a Golf R swap would be sweet
@@Zundfolge I have a soft spot for japanese off roaders, specially my Nissan Patrol (I had a 92 and now I have a 2009). To each their own, I appreciate some German cars, specially old Porsches and Mercedes, but they wouldn't make it to my 3 car garage.
Whoever edited this video is a hero. Normal "Doug is his garage" videos are great, but this was peak
Porsche Carrera GT: the most expensive coffee table in the world. Those cookies... yum.
Doug is the type of guy to have a car more expensive than his house. Seriously though, you need to reinforce your garage for earthquakes. Would be a shame!!
i think we can all agree that kennan has great taste in cars
1. New Mercedes G Glass modified by Brabus
2. Bugatti Veron Vitesse
3. Koenigsegg Agera RS1
Doug's the type of guy to actually own a dream 3 car garage in real life.
I love this type of videos. If the budget permitted, I would not be able to settle on just 3 cars, but here's what I thought of ().
- G55 AMG (torn between this and Q7 V12 TDI)
- BMW E38 L7
- Jaguar XKR S GT (torn between this and MC Stradale)
Though I'll probably change my mind 10 (times this week), especially since none of the above have a manual transmission.
More Kennan on the channel, he is great! Great video as always Doug!
Lol. Doug, you seem like a truly funny and confident guy. Happy you were able to turn reviewing cars into something so rewarding.
Great meeting you at Cars & Coffee yesterday!

As great as the McLaren F1 is. The Gordon Murray T.50 will be a worthy successor to it. That car is launching now and it is literally the perfect automobile.
Loved this fun discussion! I think you should definitely have Kennan in more videos! 😁
My 3 cars are :
Aston Martin Valkyrie (because I'm an F1 fan)
Rolls Royce Cullinan (because I want something luxury and comfortable)
Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate (my daily driver)
Interesting thought experiment... I'm not exactly sure which three I'd pick personally, but I know a Bentley Continental GT would make the list!
1. Lucid air saphire
2. Ferrari gtc4 lusso
3. GMA T50
I hope some day I can have cool cars and a friend with cool cars too. Livin' Like Doug!
A real dream 3-car garage:
300 series Toyota Land cruiser
Porsche 991.2 911 Carrera 4s
Ferrari 458

Well if it breaks down often it is annoying even if money is no object
Here's my dream 3:
A needed big car - Mercedes Benz G63 AMG 6x6: This fills a lot of boxes: usability, off-roading (especially dessert, like that Top Gear episode), uniqueness and the parts which are from Mercedes.
Doug is the type of guy to keep a stack of cookies one top of his dream super car while talking about his other dream super cars
Giving Kennan his first ride in a Model S Plaid was a blast 😂! Such a great guy; would love to see him on the channel more often!
Doug is the type of guys who puts " cars and bids " in allllll videos 😂😂 !
Wow Kennan is legitimately in a Doug DeMuro video. Shoutout to JRSVLOG and Hudson Ohio. If you know, you know.
It’s wild isn’t it.
Dream 3 Cars: Saturn SL1, Saturn SL2, Ford Probe.
jeez, maybe shoot a bit higher and include a SC2 in there... lol

I’ve been watching Doug since I was in 7th grade. I’m now finishing up my second year in college. Crazy stuff
Cool story bro
Wow. That's quite a long time.
Doug out here bustin chops and killing it with the comedic timing and camera eye contact 😂 - my 3 would be: Rivian R1S, Porsche 911 Targa, McLaren F1
Finally, someone who put a practical ev in the mix.
For me: Ferrari 488 Pista, Lucid Air, Cadillac Escalade
Doug the type of guy to talk about his dream garage in his dream garage
Doug over here low key letting us know he finally has unlimited money.

1. Trophy truck
2.Honda civic wrc
3.Any f1 honda v10
Doug's main goal here was just to keep promoting all his videos of the cars they talk about😂
10:15 - That's why my ideal sports car is the Corvette.
2:00 This cookie zoom made me laugh more than it should have... xD
Glad it made you laugh! I thought it was imperative to emphasize the oily cookies resting on a thin napkin on the million dollar sports car 😂
