@@Curseco They sold out to them.
The passion Greg has for this series of movies is palpable.
@ I like the DCEU as well. I'm well aware of its flaws, but its gotten better and I know that in time it will be the series that will rival the MCU in someways or other.
Vic Populi it feels like it comes from his knowledge of dc in general and how the films could have easily been so much better
Awesome film.
It's my favourite superhero film.
This is for the Kinda Funny crew for Batman Vs Superman:
IT IS A CRITICISM OF THE AMERICAN ELECTORAL DICHOTOMY, PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AND VIEW THE FILM THROUGH THAT LENS.
LOVE YOU ALL! :]
can every DCEU review have another person join Greg by wearing a costume. Next week Greg as superman and nick as batman, and so on and so on until we get to the everyone dressed up for justice league
I wonder who's gonna dress up for the Wonder Woman review
There is no such thing as the DCEU a blogger made up that name Warner Brother says they have never mentioned that acronym
@@fedwyn I instantly thought Andy for some reason.
Longer than the actual movie, my favorite kind of in review!
Greg came in hotter than a spaceship falling to Earth with a little baby inside.
So each week can another one of you gain a costume? Nick as Batman. Kevin as Cyborg etc.
This has one of my favorite Superhero musical scores of all time by the great Hans Zimmer. The track Flight still gives me goosebumps
The final fight was fucking amazing!
Nothing beats the Raimi trilogy though
@@Pondy33 it's funny you mentioned that because that is my number 1 favorite
Ummmmm John Williams 1978 Superman theme pounds it into oblivion
errantrazor can’t argue with that
All I needed to know that this would be everything thing I hoped, was seeing Greg staring straight into the camera, smiling while wearing a Superman suit
Oh yea! ladies and gents Kinda Funny's DC in review is here, i've been waiting for this for awhile.
Hell Yeah!
3:36 don't forget Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga'Hoole, love that movie.
DynestiGTI Owl Nation !
1:04:30 "2020's been great for Kinda Funny!"
*laughs silently to self*
I love that this episode is basically Greg insulting an entire state for three hours
Regarding 14:30, that’s one of the arguments around this movie that’s always irritated me because almost every person who disliked this film always says something similar to that. “He could have just flown away with him!” But, what good would that have caused? Continue to fight and possibly endanger even more lives? Clark realized right then and there what exactly was at stake, and he had to put Zod down.
Kevin doesn't understand or it seems like wants to understand. The infinity Gauntlet could have been taken off by Dr Strange or other heroes in a myriad of ways. But who cares that movie is amazing but we can pick things apart (please this isn't an invitation for Marvel vs DC just pointing out that we can nitpick even great movies) of most movies. But this movie to many is the Definitive Superman movie (not saying there isn't a better interpretation out there in the future) and yet others just hold onto alot of these negatives that can be scrutinized towards most others but are ignored for whatever reason.
ejhida2410 Exactly. Every movie can be picked apart. And this film (and also Batman v Superman) made me a fan of Superman.
It’s another one of Kev’s nitpicking bullshit
Russel Crowe’s line about “accomplishing wonders” was actually an excerpt from Grant Morrison’s “ All-Star Superman”.
Honestly listening to you guys talk about this movie reminded me how much I love it.
Whenever I watch Man of Steel I just roll into BvS Ultimate Edition because they compliment each other really well
SensaiChill Damn right. Also #ReleaseTheSnyderCut
@@frodelindberg99 Ditto. The Snyder Cut would compliment MoS and BvS: UE really well. Josstice League shouldn't exist. #ReleaseTheSnyderCut
The snydecut is never coming out
@@TTx04xCOBRA How do you know?
@@TTx04xCOBRA you were wrong 🖕
Andy: "He looked so spherical, his chest man. Just big ass titties" lmao I audibly laughed at my cubicle.
Man, you guys missed that they overlayed Christopher Reeves face onto Cavill's when hes flying up through the beam of the World Engine.
Its honestly one of my favorite parts of the movie.
The guy in Black has some points. But he missed the plot story. Clark present himself to the authorities because at that moment he hasn't decide who should be in the world. He just knew his heritage, his past, his World. Is not like in Donner movie, where Clark spent 12 year in the fortress and then he went out flying in suit. Thats the difference. MOS is a guy who a has to choose, who find him self. It is not about destiny. That is the topic that Jor El worked.
Wait Superman murdered? Weren’t Zod and him in the middle of a fight, it’s 100% not in cold blood
How does a movie lack a b-plot because one character finding another "makes no sense" in the opinion of one panelist. It's explained that she used her personal experience of being rescued by Clark to find others with similar experiences. Clark had apparently performed a string of rescues over the years, going back to the school bus incident in Kansas.
After rewatching both this and the original Superman movie it’s obvious this is the best Superman movie (even if flawed)
I love Kinda Funny. Love ‘em to bits. But I can’t get over how hung up people are about Superman Killing Zod again. Zod died the first time around. First Superman crushed Zod’s hand bones to powder, because for all Intensive purposes, he was turned human. Then he got thrown against a wall and fell deep hole to his death.
"Fun joke to play on your doctor." Damnit Nick that got me.
1:01:35
That was a fantastic opening!
Can you guys Review the Quentin Tarantino movies? Would love to see your rankings. It would be a fun series
Finally can start this! (Insert Count Dooku "I've been looking forward to this" meme here)
I love Man of Steel and the DCEU. I will no longer hide in the shadows!
Matthew Novak I love the DCEU too, especially Man of Steel and Batman v Superman (Ultimate Edition of course). And I can not wait to see Zack Snyder’s Justice League, as a send off to his Superman saga. Even if he had planned a 5-movie arc for him.
Augmented Bruce Wayne I wish we would’ve gotten those 5 movies. After reading what justice league was going to be and the 2 movies that were gonna follow it up, this would’ve been something special. But at the time it was fun hating on dc. Now I just love these movies minus suicide squad that movie still sucks.
Tyler Mettler They certainly would be pretty epic, I’m sure of it. But at least we’re pretty much going to get his first Justice League film out, and then we’re gonna fight to get the original Suicide Squad film from David Ayer as well, since the Theatrical Version suffered a similar fate as the Theatrical Version of Justice League.
#ReleaseTheSnyderCut
#ReleaseTheAyerCut
I love the DCEU too Matthew
Snydercut is never coming out
Ok ... take all my money... home run after home run... the content is just getting better and better. Your 2020 has been amazing. KF are heading for great things. Thank you
Took 30mins to get to plot... here for the long haul
Thank you! - Greg
Notice me Senpai!
All I gotta say is y'all better be reviewing the Ultimate 3hr cut of BvS or y'all can PACK IT UP.
Greg's excitement is amazing. It's your time Greg!!! "The planet collapses like when I put on a belt too tight." Hahahah. I love Kinda Funny so much.
16:05 Their terraforming is changing the gravity and mass of the planet, not creating rainforests and life and shit. Earth was an inhabitable world.
I really loved how they actually treated superman like an Alien in this movie.
Very underrated movie imo.
I think what is so beautiful about Superman's character in this movie is how we see Clark discovering his own identity. He gets multiple conflicting ideas from his role models in Jonathan, Jor-El, Martha, and Zod and ultimately has to form his own identity based on parts of but not all these ideas for himself. He chooses to be a hero for himself, not because of anyone who told him to be.
One of the Krypton's Moons was destroyed by the warp core of a starship which caused them to stop space travel, you can see the shattered moon Wegthor in the movie.
So been waiting for this. Let the DC reviews begin!!
I liked this movie the more I watched it.
It’s so awe-inspiring when we see Kal take his first flight
I love how level headed Tim came into this review. didn't just dogpile on the film. good man! :)
I feel like half the things Nick wants to change would be seen as negative if they actually did it. They would be saying why did they make these decisions and stuff like that.
Icepick614 That’s what I think too.
Icepick614 yeah his problem with the neck snap is rediculous
Damn Greg@ 00:21 wasn't bullshittin we just gonna jump right in and start cutting promos and shooting on everybody about the Synder cut😮😁😆😂 I ain't mad atcha my brotha 😁👊🏾
👊 - Greg
The best part of in-review is Nick not knowing what the hell he is talking about, but acting like he's right
He said "We didn't need the moment when his Mom said make the world smaller" which was such a beautiful scene. Nick wants corny scenes with Clark winking at Lois when he saves her.
I think this movie is criminally underrated
Please do Middle-earth In Review (The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogy)
On the topic of Nicks comment about murder and crossing a line, think about Luke Skywalker. Luke refused to kill The Emperor. And that's the heroic Luke we know, always doing the right thing (from then, at least).
Nick and Andy as Batman and Robin is too perfect 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I was bred a warrior, Kal. Trained my entire life, to master my senses. Where did you train, ON A FARM?!? -I freaking LOVED this line and the delivery of it. It's filled with such a venom, you believe he hates Superman from his soul.
Toilet frog! Greg is back baby!! I'm looking forward to KF's ultimate BVS in review next week!
I’m just glad Greg is there to defend BVS and tell the others BVS is a mess, but it’s cool, fun, and not as shitty as people say it is.
Hopefully they’ll watch the Ultimate Edition
Augmented Bruce Wayne if they don’t, Greg will tell the plot of the ult edition anyway
I hate how Kevin just brings up cinemasins criticisms
DanV900 no it’s because Man of Steel is a bad movie.
Jaymin's Station you can actually say real criticisms about it other then “but Superman could’ve done this instEAd”
Potato453 Jonathan Kent’s decision to save a dog in a tornado rather than make sure his wife and son are okay is so distractingly stupid it makes you question every characters motivations.
Why does Zod have to terraform earth?
The characters in this movie are the biggest issue.
Jaymin's Station I agree
Jaymin's Station ruclips.net/video/giM4Nn5Xc2M/видео.html Here’s a video explaining why Zod and his crew didn’t terraform any other planet.
And here’s a video debunking the myth that Clark should’ve used Super Speed to rescue his father, Jonathan Kent. ruclips.net/video/_WuvMy2c70g/видео.html
I absolutely adore this movie. It made Superman feel relatable and I truly felt for him as a person making really tough choices. This is my Superman and I hope Cavill gets to be supes again! Side note: BvS ultimate addition is not bad at all and it really improves on the failures of the theatrical cut lmao.
It is SO much better than the theatrical release
Well, it is the version that Zack Snyder wanted to release in the first place. So, yeah...
I started listening to this review last night on Spotify and decided I couldn’t finish this in review without watching the movie first because of how hyped Greg was for this in review. I can’t wait to rewatch these movies and hear what your guys thoughts and opinions are. #releasethesnydercut
this movie is still one of my favorite movies of all time, i have two huge problems. Johnathan Kents sorry death, and the destruction of metropolis. but everything else is so different and interesting. Idk, it just makes me happy.
You say Lois and Clark's relationship isn't earned in Man of Steel. But their relationship is no different than the first Chistopher Reeve movie. Hell he's so devastated when lois dies he reverses time to bring her back to life. And they've barely known each other either. So I have to disagree with your comments about that.
The Kodex importance was going to take place in the jutice league films.
the b-plot of the constant jabs at Kansas is hilarious! best part 1:05:00
Greg is on FIRE this episode.
One thing I always liked about Man of Steel is the destruction of the city because so much in comic book movies and sometimes in comics they completely evacuate a city, which really wouldn't happen. If 2 God like beings started fighting outta nowhere there would be tons of casualties.
Littleleafers Exactly. Buildings and towers would be decimated.
This is the best recap in any in review!!
I need to see Greg Miller vs Angry Joe in a Superman trivia match
I love this movie so much. It means a lot to me. Especially with how Superman is my favorite superhero (other than Johnny Ace).
I love the direction and Zack Snyder did excellent and it makes me very proud to be a Superman fan, DC Fan and Zack Snyder fan.
I love honey because every purchase I make, it says 0 savings. What an amazing service.
I really like Man of Steel. Personally, my favorite Superman movie, with Superman 2 being my second favorite.
My Worlds of DC ranking would personally be:
1) Wonder Woman
2) Man of Steel
3) Aquaman
4) Shazam
5) Suicide Squad
6) Justice League
7) Batman v Superman
Greg nailed it by the way, the trailers for Man of Steel made everyone think this movie was going to be amazing. It wasn't, although it wasn't as bad as we felt then.
With this movie Zack wanted a 5 film universe. That all changed with bvs (always on the table) . And wb’s wanting for a cinematic universe.
"Turn it up Jimmy." Dont really agree with alot of these rankings but I love watching these!
Yup. I'm gonna have to go watch Man of Steel again before this, been years and Greg loving the DCEU so much is gonna make me watch In Review set. I think I've only actually seen Man of Steel before, so I guess I will be watching the rest for the first time.
Just push through suicide squad and justice league then the rest are pretty good.
TBH, Justice League was way more tolerable than Suicide Squad, At least in my opinion
@@nicktiznado8492 I agree! For sure. But they're both not the best in the superhero genre. Just pretty stale.
I love how Civil the dceu fanbase is when talking about the DCEU. Most of the comments on youtube about the mcu fanbase is you either agree with everyone else or youre a scumbag who hates the mcu, which are all perfect films ofc.
George Sanchez I think it’s because the fans (myself included) of the DCEU have always been there to support and show their love for those movies, especially when it was (and still is) criticized and picked apart for “copying” the Marvel formula, which I think is just not fun to be a part of.
Been waiting for this for a long, long time
This show made me remember why I love Greg the most.
all 5 of them are still fucking wrong in so many places. 7 years later guys. Jesus
Can’t wait for the more recent movies.
Graytex big Kev dog is not happy
This needs more people in the room, I can still hear what they are saying!
This is going to be the highlight of my year. Just like the MCU in review was. Let’s go
Kevin might as well have sat out from this. Either his comments don't make much sense or he's completely unengaged.
Nick sorry man but it's been proven that he's has killed before. He's not a freaking vigilante killing everyone but he always does what he thinks is right and in that moment it made sense to get rid of Zod. You can't fly him up and knock him out, he's a warlord God with superpowers and no jail can container him. It can be argued that him killing Zod actually is good writing as it's lazy and expected that oh he traps him in the Phantom Zone and everything is perfectly fine.
Fun podcast.
But you guys missed some stuff that some of you had a problem, it was explained in the movie, one for example, colliding phantom drives open a portal to the Phantom Zone, so those Kryptonians weren't killed, just trapped in that dimension.
Yeah, those little stuff that they had problems with, which were explained in the movie, really irritated me. But otherwise, it was an enjoyable podcast.
Although I’m very cautious about what they’re going to say when they see this incarnation of Batman.
"A good death is a good way to die." - Nick Scarpino
Didn't Nick liked the suicide squad trailer when it first cam out, i think he's flip flopping.
Bruh Nick's wildin. Trying to seem like he knew. If he didnt like that trailer at the time, he was nuts.
" I feel like I live in a world made of cardboard, always taking constant care not to break something, to break someone. Never allowing myself to lose control even for a moment, or someone could die." - Superman
Nick wants Superman to always be an extrovert, this Superman being an introvert honestly for me makes him more relatable to me. Why would he be this outgoing charismatic guy when it's established that he's being picked on by his peers and isolated by his parents? He isn't allowed to play sports and in a midwestern town that basically makes you a pariah already. Love the reviews they're great to go back to after rewatching a movie.
Greg being so hype is everything I needed
This is one of my favorite reviews you guys have done! Keep up the great work!
I started watching every one of your guys Movie Reviews and Ranked so I could get to the DC Stuff 😂
I have to go back and see a few of the ones for movies I haven’t seen yet though.
For me, the ending moment of superman snapping Zods neck, isn’t about him breaking the rule of killing entirely but rather about him choosing earth over krypton, his scream is about losing his last connection to krypton rather than just killing being a rule of his. And the idea of choosing between nature and nurture is built pretty well over the film as the main conflict within Clark. Hence, the leap of faith dialogue.
He already did that in the ship with “Krypton had its chance!” and it was awesome. - Greg
Kinda Funny Good point, I just think the moment of him killing Zod drives that home even further for me and the pain he goes through in order to choose humanity as a people who will not make the same mistakes. Anyhow, love all you guy’s videos, awesome stuff!😊
Within the context of the film that's the more plausible explanation, because the stakes of this being the last of Kryptons lineage was established. It was not established in this film that this version of Superman is adverse to killing, that would have needed to be set-up earlier.
I have been waiting for this since the end of Spider-man in review. Cannot wait to watch this series.
Release the Snyder cut!!!
Michael Eastgate #ReleaseTheSnyderCut
It’s 1am here in Brazil, I wake up with a notification for this. And I don’t know man, this is really turning me on
Love how much of my night at work this ate up.
Fellow Kansan here. Can confirm most of the comments in this podcast.
Gotta say, after finishing the review, this might be your best review yet, with everyone's in depth opinions, debates and #Toilettoads.
I love the DC in review already. These movies are so divisive with so much potential but they are interesting movies. Will be watching along.
I'm not from the US, but I feel I've learned so much about Kansas now. Thank you. :)
If y’all are doing the BvS:UE why not the Extended Cut of Suicide Squad??
unless I’m forgetting something, SS Extended Cut didn’t add crucial plot info the way BvS:UE does
I'm 2 minutes into 2 HOURS AND 47 MINUTES AND IM PUMPED!!!! LETS GOO!!
Elite KF content. So happy to have jumped on patreon
Going off of what Greg was saying, I think it would have been super interesting if Superman was wrought with intense guilt from killing Zodd; not necessarily about Zodd, but about the fact that he basically completed the genocide of the Kryptonian civilization (excluding himself). Feeling depressed about exterminating his own species would've been a compelling follow up to MoS.
I’m not sure where Nick has gotten this “once you kill you can never find redemption” mentality in the recent in-reviews.
Exactly. I am too lazy to go back and watch, but I'd love to see if he was this consistent for Black Panther
Legend of Hayden He started to say that statement in Star Wars In Review which is a valid point but, I feel as this point should only brought in Films not this action oriented superhero movie.
Just finished this on the podcast. Some good entertainment lol.
Tie in comic had it that the person in the empty pod was Supergirl...
Greg: self proclaimed “super man guy”
Also Greg: constantly rags on Kansas, Supes home state.
🤨
Nick. The Clarkes inner conflict isn't wether he should be good or bad. It's wether he should live a normal life or become Superman.
I remember the moment that l thought "this is amazing, Smallville knows he's Superman since the school bus incident but they small town protect him as their own!!! That's awesome" and then when l slowly realized that's NOT what the movie was telling me was the EXACT second l thought "this sucks".
It's great to hear that same thought voiced by Greg here like 10 years later
Almost 3 hours and not a single mention of the word "bloodline". Zod's entire motivation of why he hated Superman and humans was because he thought genetically created Kryptonians were better than naturally born ones. I think you guys completely missed that.
And Batman does kill. Keaton's Batman did.
DanielHodder7 Wasn’t Zod born as a leader in the Genesis Chamber? And therefore he was bound by his mission to restore Krypton, no matter how violent or cruel his actions were.
Also, yes I 100% agree. Batman has killed in the past, both in other films and comic books. I get really tired and irritated of other arguments or “criticisms” towards Ben Affleck’s Batman.
