Thanks for the review. Used it yesterday in the northern rain. Just had a tee-shirt underneath. When I came back the tee-shirt was sopping wet and there were water droplets on the inside. Not happy.
So this morning I tried the Miltec poncho when there was NO rain.
When I got back the tee-shirt was sopping wet and their were water bead droplets on the inside of the Miltec poncho.
So the problem was one of sweat and condensation, not water proofing.
There is no real way around this. However, stopping once in a while and giving yourself a good 'vent' by circulating air through the bottom of the poncho might help.

Cracking review. I’m after a poncho for wild camping and this ticks nearly all the boxes. Looked at the s2s nano but not totally convinced that would hold out in the rain on a long hike. Good tip for the draw chord/belt mod. I’ve used snugpak gear before and always impressed with the build quality so think I’ll get this for my next thru hike. Atb, and thanks again for the review.

Thanks Mick Appreciate that mate. The versatility of being a rain coat and backpack cover is a good selling point.

Thanks for the video and for taking the time to upload, much appreciate 👍. My only negative comment would be unlike 99% of other ponchos, this one seems to lack the ability to be used in the mini tarp mode, a real bonus from my point of view and in this case a deal breaker ☹️. In its present form it’s just an oversized cag jacket lacking versatility. Once again thanks for your time and effort and your bravery going out in all weathers to bring us these great videos. Regards, Clive from deepest Dorset.

I used a simple rectangular poncho on a recent walk up Haystacks in the pouring rain and wind, worked brilliantly and several comments from other Hikers about what a good idea. The only problem was coming downhill where the front made seeing the path and any obstacles difficult especially on steep rocky bits.

Yeah theres a lot of material and can prove difficult to see your feet on descents. Thanks for watching

I got one to with the liner as well great bit of especially the poncho cause our weather is mostly grey & wet lol I like the feature that it goes over the bergen to no need for the waterproof cover ha ha

Thanks Scott, good review mate. By the way I wouldn't pitch a tent in front of the wall you're standing in front of. It looks like Dans through one of his burnt sausages at it and its cracked. ATB 👍😊

Hi scott good review mate. Cant beat a poncho very versatile piece of kit. I've got 4 or 5 British army 58 pattern drab olive green ones (they accidentally fell into my Bergen when in the barracks one night) I swapped one with an American soldier which is made out of parachute material making it very light and packs away very small and is camo making it perfect for going over the snugpak stratosphere in stealth conditions. I might get one of these though as I'm a recovering poncho-holic... can't wait for my next relapse 🥴 thumbs up from me bud 👍

Hang on Oscar ! Good reviews, good advice..
However everything about that " Poncho " that makes it good is how UN - Poncho it is..and how much it resembles a jacket !
    Its good because :-
its sewn on the sides..The point of a poncho is the sides are open to allow ventilation, and allows it to be used as a shelter or ground sheet.
It has sleeves...Ponchos don't have sleeves so you have access to the gear and clothing underneath, and can use your arms to aid ventilation. Plus the sleeves are one size fits all !
Its more like an oversized cagoule.

Breakfast in bed, where you off to?
    I did a 360 as the 380 was hard.
I'm liking a poncho want a 4gauge long barrel coverage. Suns out half a sixpence.
Great review beam me up old boy...

I like this poncho style, weight, colors. But these arms are crazy short!! I have this poncho for a year now.... emmm..... it's definetly not 100% waterfroof. It's ok maybe for first 5-10 times and then it will leak, it will be soaking water!! But it's not this poncho alone doing that, all waterproof ponchos and expensive rain jackets are treatened with some water repelant, after 10 times or so they all leak like crazy. So that is a sad truth! Of course those heavy plastic, rubbery or those cheap disposable ones are 100 % waterproof. But all these nylon, goretex.... they all quickly loose their waterproofness. So how about yours snugpak patrol poncho, do it still 100% waterproof like it was in first day of using? Maybe you now how to make poncho waterproof again ?

@@OscarOutdoors22 He talks about it a little in the video itself, then more in the kit that worked and kit that didn't video he did after the walk. I believe it failed soaking him and his map that was in the pocket.
