The NA is the quintessential Miata experience. Not the best, but certainly the most fun. All the gens are great and kind of serve their own purpose. The NB is a refined NA, the NC is a more comfortable roadster with amazing track capabilities and the ND is an homage to the NA 25 years later.
I have driven every gen Miata and the best Miata is the one you are driving. My first Miata was a 99nb1 with a hard dog roll bar. Now I am starting a new build on a 91 Miata. Great video
An iconic car that made the world a better place. I will always own an MX-5. I still repair many NA's and NB's. I love driving the early models.I currently own a 2023 GT. I'm thinking about trading for a 2025.
In my '96 NA I can reach back and open and close my top from the driver's seat. I'm 6'1" and just fit. It was more uncomfortable in my NB. IMO, the steering in the NA is WAY better than the ND. That transmission started in the much earlier Mazdas including the 1st gen Rx-7. The lineage is clear when you drive one.
Last fall, I drove an NA for the first time in at least a decade. a European SE ‘94 1.6 ; at Miataland in Umbria. I had forgotten how special it is!! Felt so ‘right’ blasting through those tight little roads in the Italian countryside; I could have driven all the way to the boot!
Zip and unzip the rear window BEFORE you latch the header. This takes tension off the zipper and makes it much easier (and less wear in the zipper). There are also many aftermarket replacement toos that replace the window with glass, but on the early cars they still need to be unzipped. Also, one can drive with the top up and the rear window open, which is nice in warm days when you don’t want to use AC (or done have it, since this was an option on the NA).
the NA and the ND are the best generations for a reason the first has all the soul of intent behind a groundbreaking idea, the ND is a return to form after trying to make the car more accommodating to more people
Nothing negative towards the channel but I hate how creators have to ask an obvious question in titles for algorithm engagement (I have to do it as well). Also, here is a comment for engagement as well. Lol

I also went from 99 NB1 6spd to NA6. It's technically worse in every way but I love it more for some reason.
Just sold my 97 na a few weeks ago and purchased a 07 nc with blown engine. I’ll be engine swapping it with the 2.5 ford fusion engine soon
I just got a 94…1.8Miata 👍🏻 no other car can make you smile when you drive it and shift it and then laugh when you wait for it to start pulling😝👍🏻

And then the NC is just better than both to drive but In ways that make it less Miata like.
Where is this? Landscape looks amazing
las vegas i think?

lol, reminds me of high school where you had to setup the premise of your argument in the first paragraph
@ hahahaha! I totally forgot about that!
As long as that car will stay cute then it will be immortal
Iv just got an NB to turbo on my channel. Iv had a few the first two models are the real deal 👍
These days, the Miata is even more relevant. NA went for $20k+ at Barrett Jackson.
Is the video recorded in vegas? If so, what street is that, I wanna drive my miata here!
This pretty much feels like an S2000
