I’m actually quite sad that they didn’t portray the Soviets wearing sneakers. My grandpa fought in the Soviet Afghan war. One day he showed me a box of his old uniform. You can only imagine my surprised face when he pulled out blue Adidas gazelles as he explained that they were his “standard issue” footwear since he wore them more than any other footwear.
Just curious if you remember if they were real Adidas or the Soviet made Mockba knockoffs? Pretty cool that he still has all that stuff though. Always been fascinated by that war and how the soldiers there adapted to operating in an environment and war they were never really trained to fight in.
@@legitmilkman98 they were actually Western Adidas, he said he traded some of his bullets for them at a shop. Obviously they have lost their shine now, but he looked happy in his photos while wearing them
@@adrianalprin5752 it was actually a normal thing during the war, Afghan shopkeepers would accept bullets as payment and trade them with the mujahideen. It was common to boil their bullets before trading to deactivate them before trading so they would end up being used against them.
I know it’s completely valid that the family of Jonas Savimbi felt that he could have been seen as portrayed as a “Half-Orc Hulk Smash” type character, but my honest reaction as a young adolescent playing this game was that Jonas Savimbi was a badass strategist and War Hero to his countrymen
As someone who didn't know much about the Angolan War it was nice hearing all the details about it (Even if the details in BO2 are pretty far off) and how it compares to real life Tbh I feel like modern African wars aren't used enough in modern FPS, they are pretty underrated settings if you ask me.
Yeah, I've always seen Black Ops as less trying to depict anything approximating real history and more like a cartoonish pulp 80's action movie version of the Cold War. I can't genuinely rag on its historical inaccuracies too much, it feels like pointing out Rambo shoots too much without reloading.
*Considering it's in the past now and that some of it was inpired by real life events you could also take a look at the historical inaccuracies in MW19.*
the reboots will never compare to the originals for me. I think they would be more interesting to cover because the reboots have strange MCU type shit going on
Kinda hard to cover historical inaccuracies with a fictional storyline involving fictional countries. Outside of the Highway of Death revisionism there's nothing really to cover.
I am an active duty U.S. Infantry Marine, and actively earning a gunsmithing degree, so I speak with confidence on the below points, feel free to add counter arguments if you desire - You shouldn't add a point on every use of inaccurate grenades and should instead add one point then point out how often the inaccuracy is, this caused an excessive amount of points added - Some guns you mentioned several inaccuracies on and would give one point, while other guns you charged several points on which is inconsistent - I think that gameplay features shouldn't be considered as inaccuracies since their only purpose is for gameplay design, and have no relation to the historical accuracy (Like no hands on the M2, scavenger, fast hands, etc.) - The "ACOG" listed in the menu is the 6x MDO (Machine Gun Day Optic) which in the USMC is only used on the M240B, however the optic shown on the FAL is actually the 4X RCO (Rifle Combat Optic) - The Grenade Launcher shown in the menu seems to be a blend of the M320 & GP25 - The AK's in game typically show the optics screwed into the guns rather than using the typical AK style mounts - The AK "Dong Grip" is entirely too blocky - The Mujahideen soldier saying "I will take you to the leader of the Mujahideen" isn't necessarily wrong as the translation of an Arabic dialect into English would be hard to portray that he's a leader of their encampment - The machete's in Panama also have backwards handles - Even to this day many SOCOM and Intelligence Agency personnel still use models of the M1911's, only until the late 2010's did SOCOM replace the MEUSOC 1911 for the Glock and/or Sig P320 - In the mission where you snipe Mason, calling a 7.62x54R a "Smaller caliber" than a .50 BMG is technically true however the round is still more than capable or tearing off a limb - The .45Tac in game isn't based off of the FNP-45, but instead the FNX-45 Tactical - You can't assume that the Cap-40 is chambered in .40 S&W because the U.S. Military has an odd nomenclature system, with that logic the M4 should be chambered in .44 Magnum - The FAL in game holding 25 instead of 30rnds could be considered wrong, but it is common even to this day (Even tho it is incorrect to believe this) that loading 2-5 rounds less than than a mags total capacity saves your mags over time providing safer feeding; this started in Vietnam when spring steel was less durable and we didn't issue anti-tilt followers in mags - On the racking of the M27 sometimes on newer modes the charging handle catches not allowing you to fully rack the bolt, so troops have to pull it harder causing a similar animation - The futuristic RPG-7 could be compared to the Airtronic PSRL-1 rocket launcher If you would like another individual for reference material regarding future content feel free to reach out and we can work something out, I have a very dense background in firearms, the U.S. military and many connections due to networking; I've no problem offering free advising for you!
Frosty and “his” editor, aren’t exactly the best at researching these games, as well as the fact that they obviously do not know about the Old Gen Console limitations shows to me that they don’t actually know exactly what they talk about and only read wiki pages as research and do basically do these videos for the money. Always really glad to see informed members of the community making contributions to deconstructing popular media. Noriega's arrest in game: mason and woods have him to some exchange to seal his reputation. Noriega' arrest irl: lets play some rock music he could vibe to then arrest him.
I knew accuracy was out the window when I saw that the M16 was again disproportionately smaller than its real life counter part and they had a 20 round box magazine holding 30 rounds through some sort of satanic witchcraft
The Afghanistan levels were inspired by Rambo 3 which him and Col. Trautman take on the Soviet Army. That's why it's all desert like in the film along with the huge tank used by Kravchenko.
13:13 i never understood why this feature was cut from cod up until bo2 and was brought back as an attachment. Cod 1 had select fire as a feature, at least recent entries brought it back
To be fair most "random names" of weapons are because they didn't pay for the naming rights of the weapon. There's been a handful of a game in which you kinda know exactly what the weapon is supposed to be but its given a different name (usually a military designation or a random name in general) and they slightly adjust something about it, or the name alone being change is "ok" for them to not be charged by the gun manufacturer (refering to the olympia) but it's happened many times through out COD as well a other random games. Copyright exists even for weapon names and they the game devs are supposed to somehow change them to not "Resemble: the real deal somehow or another. I'm not exactly sure what the standards that allow you do make the exact weapon but it not get considered copy right. But I do know Military Designations and random names tend to be "allowed:" by game devs and the gun manufacturers won't sue over them.
That’s what Project Wingman had to do with the aircraft having to use different names but mostly with letters switched around, example, the F4-E is referred to as the F/E-4, F/A-18E is referred to as the F/E-18, the F-14D is referred to as the F/D-14 etc due to them not having a license which is very expensive. Whereas this is not the case for Ace Combat as they have the license to use the real names and have had the license since Ace Combat 04. Most game devs don’t have the license as it’s too expensive for most game devs especially indie devs.
@@cwp24 There is absolutely zero precedent for video game companies (or film studios, or anyone else making media) being successfully sued for using either firearm names or the names of aircraft, especially when the names in question are military designations or from 50+ year old designs.
Actually the 2025 RPG is based almost entirely on the PSRL-1, an American brand version of the RPG-7 often given to NATO members or Allies as a means of helping the transitioning from Soviet based weapon designs to more modern and NATO resembled ones and is still in production to this day, though it is unclear if the US uses it themselves as the 2025 missions seem to imply it is the main launcher for the US and Allied forces.
US definitely uses it, cuz lt produces these questionable licences at home. Still has old as heck ergonomics, unlike the BF3 more realistic RPG7V2 used in service.
1:28:55 In their defense, most firearms books from the early 2000's do pointed out it was supposed to be the standard army rifle by the time period depicted in game, so it's quite a neat detail that they chose it.
Actually, the fact that Savimbi has his iconic revolver is a positive. Doubt many people can distinguish between Colt and Smith&Wesson revolver handle.
While a "rapid fire" attachment is still kinda stupid, it could be done on AKs quite easily, with a rubber pad on the recoil spring to decrease the length the bolt travels
@cardboard_shaft potentially you could, if the rifle originally had a rate reducer on one of the axis pins, removing it would achieve the same effect. Though removing something shouldn't really count as an "attachment"
A game that isn't historically accurate can be good, like black ops 2, while games that are bad can be historically accurate. But then there's Vanguard... which is bad and is historically innacurate.
Blops Two is “inaccurate” due to the limitations of the older generation of consoles as well as the need of video games being “historically accurate” not important up until like MW2019 coming out and it changing the video game industry as a whole. Vanguard on the other hand tho, no excuse for it being so bad…
I absolutely LOVE these videos, and I hope you not only cover every other historical aspect of Call of Duty, but expand beyond Call of Duty and cover other historical games. Would love to see you cover Darkest of Days.
Funny joke, but it’s due to console limitations and the want for historically accurate video games not being the norm up until somewhere between 2016-2019.
@@BigManLaskey yeah maybe and that reminds me the entire chain of command is screwed in this franchise think about you are playing as a character who has the highest rank than squadmate and they outrank you for no reason
@@BigManLaskeyand also time constraints, half of this video is literally just nitpicking shit that was done to avoid having to spend time and resources doing minuscule details
Some of these complaints are just nitpicking. Like what’s the point of complaining that the ammo on the ground being all the right type of ammo for your weapon when you walk over them? These videos were better when they went over historical inaccuracies rather than the game sound design.
This is why I don't really like this channel. This dude is on par with freaking cinema sins with how nitpicky and annoying he is. I don't mind detailing historical inaccuracies in various media especially video games but the condescending attitude and the nitpickiness just ruins it.
This feels like less of a "historical inaccuracy's" video, and more like a, "inaccuracy's in general" video, just because going on about how much a human can carry, or how a gun has certain slight modifications to it, isn't exactly historical, as much as it is nitpicking about select ideals for a video games, designed to be fun, and didn't exactly need to be realistic, in order to achieve historically accurate.
Honestly, I'm loving your innaccuracies video because it also educates me about other stuff in history and pretty neat details regarding the military of other nations, including the weapons and equipment they used during that specific time period/war
I disagree that mason cant set off anti tank mine that need 180kg force . you see mason is just big chungus and he has like shit ton of equipment and weapons on him.
I feel like a good number of the inaccuracies in the vid can be explained by developer shortcuts. The reason that the Angolan leader has a python is because that is the only wood handle revolver among the game's assets. They could have made a custom revolver model for that character, but since it was for one short mission, why would they? Same with the uniforms, etc.
I've been passing through a lot of dark moments in my life, but it's videos like these that makes me want to learn more about wars and history, and keep carrying on remembering that my life is not as bad as i think, thanks to exist mate, this channel is awesome and i hope you never stop, thank you for this awesome content you have ❤.
The other 8 things they got it wrong : 1. The PLA's current digital combat is not Type 07, instead it was replaced by the Type 19 and Type 21 Xing Kong Camouflage. 2. As for the US Army, the Army service Blue Uniform is currently relegated as ceremonial dress uniform while the WW2 era pinks and greens uniform was brought back as the current standard service uniform. 3. In real life, The FAST helmet is mostly issued to the special forces such as Navy SEALS and Delta Forces, while US and Chinese conventional infantry units were equipped with IPHS and Enhanced Combat Helmets. 4. The security personnel on board the ship in Karma level should have any sorts of body armour when the ships was attacked by Raul Menendez. 5. The SWAT and LAPD officers in Cordies Die day level should have FAST helmets and Modular Scalable Vests when the invasion of LA begins. 6. The Navy Sailors on board USS Barack Obama should have worn ACH Helmets, PASGT Vest, PASGT Helmets, IOTV and ECH Helmets in combat instead of wearing nothing at all. On the other hand, the blueberries digital camo was replaced by NWU Type III. 7. The Navy Seals in 2025 should have worn NWU Type III instead of Multicam. In Archilles Veil level, the NWU Type II(Desert variant) should have worn by Mason and his teammates. 8. In the opening of the segments of Judgement day level, US Army Paratroopers and PLAAF Airborne Corps should the majority ones to join the paradrop assault on Haiti assisted by US Navy SEALS, US Green Berets, US Delta Forces, US Marines, PLAN Marines and PLA Jiao Long Special Forces. And where are the tank supports like the Type 15 light tanks, ZBD04 IFVs, M10 Bookers and M113?
The US military is starting to switch everyone (or at least those in combat MOSs) over to FAST style, high cut helmets. I've seen SEALs and MARSOC wearing multicam. My guess is it all depends on the unit and what they allow, but typically they wear what is best suited for the environment. Could be wrong on how that works because I'm not a SOF/SF dude
I always thought the ALICE gear used by the wrong factions was quite weird, as was the wrong gear being used by U.S. forces in Panama. For them, a PASGT vest and simple ALICE gear (or just ALICE gear by itself) would have worked instead of whatever they were wearing. They also could have reused the Colt Commando/CAR-15 from the first game too. Regardless, it's still a great game and one of the best Call of Duties.
I remember I once talked to a Former Marine who used the M4A1 Carbine as well as the M27. He said he hated the M27 because it was long and unwieldy adding that "it is a broomstick of a rifle". He claims that he would prefer the USMC to keep their Tank divisions as well as still use the M4A1.
In the orginal modern warfare series most of the US troops use M4A1 assault rifles however you see some like the Afghan conscripts and US troops in Washington Use the M16A4 and the scar H. Even weirdly how in the OG MW3 the German tank crews use M16A4 Assault rifles instead of German HK weapons like the G3
@@declangaming24 It's the same case with non-US Special Forces, where the SAS and certain Royal Marine units use a Canadian licensed version of the M4A1. Then the Australian SASR, almost every Latin American military force and Scandinavian forces. Seems like the existence of the rifle hurts the domestic firearms manufacturers.
The M27 is a nearly ten pound rifle when fully loaded, even more so with stuff attached to it, so the complaint makes sense. My guess is that it was pushed as a standard infantry rifle by Marine higher ups in order to damage control the initial retarded decision to replace the M249 with it.
@AeonPhoenix yeah exactly they must be sharing weapons or something . Not enough G36C or other guns to go around I always wondered why the Russians in OG MW2 used a lot of other non Russian weapons like the F200 ,tar 21 ,FAL ,Vector ect and how in call of duty 4 the OP for have there hands on G3 assault rifles and M249 saws
Black ops 2 is an amazing game despite these and I don’t blame them for inaccuracies. The game had to balance futuristic and past settings on the 360 hardware. So many guns, characters and vehicles have to fit in one game and some things will have to be cut or reduced. Always found it quite sad we didn’t get the black ops 1 weapons in multiplayer though
As some people have already mentioned, you shouldn't nitpick things relating to gameplay, like perk abilities and carrying too much ammo. We know what video games are. We're here for the historical inaccuracies.
@@brox_guy4092 If you weld them together that just one duel rotating minigun, you half to wield them together at once for it to be considered Duel Wielding
as much as i appreciate the explanations as to what certain things should be in the game, i feel like there should be another counter you add titled "inaccurate, but ill let it slide" haha. like enemies using the same grenades which is most likely due to the devs trying to cut back on time and money from designing more models.. i mean, yeah, the Soviets and Cubans might be using other grenades, but they usually dont come into view long enough to make the distinction. (because youre trying to scram and not get blown tf up in the game lol)
yeah, really like the videos but some of the "historical inaccuracies" are detail imperfections from the game itself and has nothing to do with history, like the fire switch from the weapons
This “guy” or at least his ghost writer does not understand Old Gen Console Limitations, so I wouldn’t be surprised if neither of them even play video games and only do these videos for views.
Dr Najib was from Paktia (but lived in Khost for some time) but yeah Khost was really loyal to the DRA "Unlike under previous Afghan governments, Khost had substantial representation in the DRA, and because so many of the PDPA leadership came from there, Khost City was nicknamed “Little Moscow” or the “Second Moscow.” Symbolically and strategically, it was one of the most important areas to the DRA government"
@@TheFrosty_1 This comment seems very telling of the fact that you are unable to accept valid criticism. I get that there are some annoying CoD fanboys in the comments going "Waaaaaah, you're trashing my favorite gaem! UNSUBBED" but there are others giving very legitimate criticism of the fact that you are mistaking gameplay mechanics as 'historical inaccuracies'. I can tolerate you pointing out asset reuses that the devs put in to save time like weapon models and reload animations but it's another thing entirely to put in obvious gameplay mechanics like Weapon Customization (which is entirely optional for player choice and is meant to incentivize replay value so the game doesn't become stale), Perks which give you superhuman abilities (which are obviously not canon and are again up to player choice), picking up ammo off the ground, stylistic gore effects or God forbid, being able to carry multiple weapons without it encumbering the player character. It's things like that which make the video almost infuriating to watch in my opinion, which is a shame because I know you put in a lot of time and effort in making this video. I hope you take the time and effort into acknowledging these criticisms so you can improve upon making future videos.
Lots of these are more of "unrealistic details" than "historical inaccuracies" but i guess only part of the game is set in actual history so its hard to make a lengthy video of it eh? 20:55 This is a model straight from COD2 thats why its german xD 1:01:25 Those gotta be money models from MW3 Somalia levels. Recycle moment heh.
Tbh as a Nicaraguan kid growing up. Seeing how Nicaragua was interpreted in the game and getting our own Villain was dope as hell. So I can’t complain.
One thing I'd just like to add for this games depiction of 2025 that had nothing to do with weapons, is that the police cars that you see in the missions "Cordis Die" based in Los Angeles appear to be inspired by the Carbon Motors E7 prototype, which at the time was a purpose built police cruiser that was only to be available for Law Enforcement agencies and planned to become available in 2012. Carbon Motors is now defunct, but at the time some were predicting that these cars would become standardized across major U.S cities in the near future. Thats just my thought anyway. Great work wit these vidoes, guys! wonder if in the future you might consider looking at some of the older or more recent Medal of Honor games like the 2010 reboot or Frontline or Allied Assault.
And it has one of the biggest lies in video game history because back then they marketed the level with fake gameplay and one of the characters gets killed off before the level and was dead weight
@@MerchantrRe4 and of course the other comment probably you didn’t play this game or probably missed the news old and new just saying anyway I appreciate the support
President Najibullah was originally from Paktia Province (Which Khost Was apart of until 1986-1987) however Dr Najibullah did spend alot of time in Khost in his earlier years, Many members of the DRA were from Khost though including Minister of Interior Sayed Mohammad Gulabzoy, Habib Mangal, a member of the PDPA politburo and ambassador to the USSR, Ghafar Lakan, minister of agriculture; Mahmud Alumgal Suma and Pohanmal “Professor” Guldad, both ministers of higher education; and Mir Ahmed Gorbuz, ambassador to Czechoslovakia.
They keep getting longer because he’s nitpicking old generation console limitations. If “he” does a video on the New Modern Warfare games I want to say wouldn’t even be 30 minutes, however I know that “he” would go on a rant about something stupid like “The Oden only being a prototype weapon and shouldn’t be seen so often yadda yadda yadda” and make it be two hours long despite only having half the inaccuracies as these previous videos.
Most of these aren't even historical inaccuracies, just general inaccuracies, like when he lists off flaws in weapon models. The way he nitpicks it makes CinemaSins look like good faith critics. I absolutely understand none of this is taken seriously, but there's a limit to how long an autistic rant can go on until it stops being entertaining.
I was actually flabbergasted seeing the MPLA rebels using machetes in human waves. So weird ngl, they should have been using Soviet equipment as well in organized assaults Speaking of child soldiers and military gear, MGSV Phantom Pain portrays this well, highly recommend checking it out, especially since it and BO2 share the same settings. Also, you should cover Medal of Honor 2010 and Modern Warfare 2019.
pet peeve about these videos is the fact he’s listing gaming things for “historical” inaccuracies (like the perks and constantly charging a gun when picked up)
Actually if you watch Halo on Paramount Plus all the resistance fighters are using guns such as AK-47s seen in this game and other modern day weapons extremely out of place for the far future setting
1:19:15 I think this is the entire point. In Achielles Veil, when attempting to shoot Menendez, he tells Farid "To those you serve, your life means nothing." This is also reconfirmed in the start of the game when Hudson tells Mason something on the lines of Woods being forgotten by the CIA since he got captured, I believe that they don't talk about it, because despite the actions of both foreign and US soldiers because it doesn't benefit the government, (Which is Menendez's entire motivation in the 2025 setting) another piece of evidence to support this is in the mission fallen angel, Menendez says "They care nothing for the suffering of their people. Neither to the Americans or the Chinese" in which the ISI commander says "They care. They care for their own interest, nothing more."
Actually frosty the plane at 0:54 is an Airbus A400 since it is a turboprop 🤓 (Also yes I know the C-17 was first built in ‘93 and the A400 is from 2009) Edit: I don’t mean to be that guy but I am picking up likes, I actually don’t get a lot of likes so thanks 🙏
2:48 I think Treyarch choose this kind of uniform for convenience. Judging by those photos, both MPLA and UNITA soldiers wore similar looking uniforms. This might make it hard for the player to tell the difference between friendly and enemy NPCs. However, they could have used the SADF instead of UNITA. The SADF wore mostly khaki uniforms. Plus the game is already using SADF vehicles, such as the Buffel and Eland Mk7.
I don't think the weapons from the 2025 campaign meant to be futuristic versions of existing guns should be treated like they *are* the guns they're based on. But of course still mention stuff that doesn't make sense on any gun. Like bullets in transparent magazines not matching the actual amount of bullets in the gun. For example, yes, the XM8 failed to replace the M16A2/A4 in the US military or any military or even get adopted by one except in Malaysia. But the gun in game is not meant to be the XM8. Rather it is a new gun derived from the XM8. For guns like the AN-94, yes, tear them apart.
those race track revolver fire what are basically those little fire crackers you throw at the ground or step on, very small bags of gunpowder. If you block the chamber with your hands, maybe you'll get a small burn, but that's the extent of their damage.
@@queuedjar4578 I'm saying that cause I remember people saying that when you can grab a blank and shoot in Wolfenstein, it doesn't go off but since you were beside one of the Villains it should kill
90-99% of the soldiers would be armed with bolt action full sized rifles or carbines. Shotguns and SMG came super late to the war. Most of the auto rifles would be prototype. Only officers were armed with pistols
These vids never get less amusing and fascinating to watch and are dearly loved. it's staggering to see so many discrepancies in only what, half of a game? incredible work to everyone who worked on this
42:15 IIRC mounted archers had horses that were well-trained enough to respond to commands from the rider's legs, allowing the archer to use their bow. Mason *MIGHT* have a horse that was trained enough, but then he wouldn't need the reigns
1:15:46 It's absolutely baffling that the forces that absolutely shouldn't have ALICE gear are wearing it, while American troops, who should *only* be wearing ALICE gear (and maybe a little bit of MCLE) aren't even wearing it
1:22:40 As a KEL-TEC KSG12 owner I can confirm what you said plus more. The KSG ejects shells down in the same place you load them not out the side. Also the sight would be way to low for the average person to use. There is more off about the model but those are the biggest things you missed.
9:12 this makes the earlier point of many of them charging with machetes even dumber when their character models are wearing firearms they could be using instead ALSO JUST 11:45
14:10 I am pretty sure the equipment that can be grabbed during each mission is mission only and mason just gets rid of the gear after to prepare for the next operation
Najibullah lived in Khost (when he was younger) but he wasnt originally from Khost (Khost was apart of Paktia province up until 1986 however) everything else is spot on
Hello there I'd like to say you did a good job, however I noticed you made one mistake in your editing. The SU at 42:55 is an Su-24,not an Su-25 as you said.
I'm a little confused about the end. You're counting future weapons as inaccurate because they don't perfectly resemble the modern weapons they are clearly not supposed to be?
I feel like it would be pretty fitting to review the inaccuracies in Metal Gear Solid V since the two games focus on the two conflicts from the 80’s albeit being two completely genres
@@USADroopyMeat1099 Besides weapons obviously not modeled 100% like their real life counterparts (mainly due to Kojima already being super over budget, as well as the fact that they simply did not care) *historically* (like this video tries and fails to do) nothing is inaccurate in the Metal Gear Storyline.

Kind of ridiculous to point out common game mechanics as inaccuracies. Every FPS game you've ever played handles partial mag swaps exactly the same way but you called this an inaccuracy? It's a video game, not a military sim. Why didn't you point out regenerating health as an inaccuracy?
He's simply pointing out historical inaccuracies, in his world at war video I believe he says it's imply in order to inform or entertain, not shit on the games presented.
I appreciate the effort and research put in this video, but the majority of these inaccuracies are far from historical. Ok, we get that the character does not pull the pin from a grenade, that the number of cartridges in the ammo belt are not accurately modeled, that the mounted guns have infinite ammo, that the player can hold a heavy mg with one hand etc. Yes, these are unrealistic, but by no means "historical" inaccuracies.
28:11 also RPD has an accessory rail bolted directly to cover which is weird because: 1) cover is not so good as a sight mounting point because it hardly holds zero 2) What is the point of that dovetail side mount when it can't support scope rails due to open-cover LMG? Edit: 1:23:10 about KSG - After 7 shots, character should manually switch the tube selector to change the active magazine, also this should be done when reloading. Also KSG ejects spent casings downwards (loading and ejecting shares the same opening)
Love the vid but ny only issue is a lot of these nitpicks were gameplay related and not history related which i think is wrong since CoD is an arcade shooter and not mil-sim. Other than that great vid!

thank you for your point about the Angolan civil war. the depiction of both sides was fucking INSANE, especially with jonas savimbi as som sort of gruff antihero. the man was a fucking monster, no question about it.
Not surprised the MPLA or Cubans are portrayed like this. Specially when there was news how the US military was "consulting" the devs of this game, MW2019.

I am an active duty U.S. Infantry Marine, and actively earning a gunsmithing degree, so I speak with confidence on the below points, feel free to add counter arguments if you desire
- You shouldn't add a point on every use of inaccurate grenades and should instead add one point then point out how often the inaccuracy is, this caused an excessive amount of points added
- Some guns you mentioned several inaccuracies on and would give one point, while other guns you charged several points on which is inconsistent
- I think that gameplay features shouldn't be considered as inaccuracies since their only purpose is for gameplay design, and have no relation to the historical accuracy (Like no hands on the M2, scavenger, fast hands, etc.)
- The "ACOG" listed in the menu is the 6x MDO (Machine Gun Day Optic) which in the USMC is only used on the M240B, however the optic shown on the FAL is actually the 4X RCO (Rifle Combat Optic)
- The Grenade Launcher shown in the menu seems to be a blend of the M320 & GP25
- The AK's in game typically show the optics screwed into the guns rather than using the typical AK style mounts
- The AK "Dong Grip" is entirely too blocky
- The Mujahideen soldier saying "I will take you to the leader of the Mujahideen" isn't necessarily wrong as the translation of an Arabic dialect into English would be hard to portray that he's a leader of their encampment
- The machete's in Panama also have backwards handles
- Even to this day many SOCOM and Intelligence Agency personnel still use models of the M1911's, only until the late 2010's did SOCOM replace the MEUSOC 1911 for the Glock and/or Sig P320
- In the mission where you snipe Mason, calling a 7.62x54R a "Smaller caliber" than a .50 BMG is technically true however the round is still more than capable or tearing off a limb
- The .45Tac in game isn't based off of the FNP-45, but instead the FNX-45 Tactical
- You can't assume that the Cap-40 is chambered in .40 S&W because the U.S. Military has an odd nomenclature system, with that logic the M4 should be chambered in .44 Magnum
- The FAL in game holding 25 instead of 30rnds could be considered wrong, but it is common even to this day (Even tho it is incorrect to believe this) that loading 2-5 rounds less than than a mags total capacity saves your mags over time providing safer feeding; this started in Vietnam when spring steel was less durable and we didn't issue anti-tilt followers in mags
- On the racking of the M27 sometimes on newer modes the charging handle catches not allowing you to fully rack the bolt, so troops have to pull it harder causing a similar animation
- The futuristic RPG-7 could be compared to the Airtronic PSRL-1 rocket launcher

Also nowadays, California won't let you sell a game in stores if you have any real-gun names used. So all gun names have to be faked, iirc.

In their defense, most firearms books from the early 2000's do pointed out it was supposed to be the standard army rifle by the time period depicted in game, so it's quite a neat detail that they chose it.
Actually, the fact that Savimbi has his iconic revolver is a positive. Doubt many people can distinguish between Colt and Smith&Wesson revolver handle.
While a "rapid fire" attachment is still kinda stupid, it could be done on AKs quite easily, with a rubber pad on the recoil spring to decrease the length the bolt travels
his problem is it’s a trigger icon implying something was done to the fire control to do that
@cardboard_shaft potentially you could, if the rifle originally had a rate reducer on one of the axis pins, removing it would achieve the same effect. Though removing something shouldn't really count as an "attachment"
@@kaibowman4803 yeah assuming every select fire weapon in country has a trigger installed rate reducer would be dumb lmao

Man, I wish this comment was on the top of the page.
The default load out for that mission is the M16A1 and the 1911 it should be the M16A2 and a 1911
I remember I once talked to a Former Marine who used the M4A1 Carbine as well as the M27.
If he thinks the m27 is a “broomstick” he must’ve despised the m16s
@AeonPhoenix yeah exactly they must be sharing weapons or something .

@@AisarShamsul Very witty, buddy. Your input is duly appreciated 👍.
I was actually flabbergasted seeing the MPLA rebels using machetes in human waves. So weird ngl, they should have been using Soviet equipment as well in organized assaults
Speaking of child soldiers and military gear, MGSV Phantom Pain portrays this well, highly recommend checking it out, especially since it and BO2 share the same settings.
Also, you should cover Medal of Honor 2010 and Modern Warfare 2019.
The depiction of the MPLA is actually insane idk how they got away with this shit

*I dare you to do a video on the historical inaccuracies of Black Ops: Declassified.*
pet peeve about these videos is the fact he’s listing gaming things for “historical” inaccuracies (like the perks and constantly charging a gun when picked up)
I can’t wait until 2553 comes around so we can get “Listing every historical inaccuracy in Halo”
Actually if you watch Halo on Paramount Plus all the resistance fighters are using guns such as AK-47s seen in this game and other modern day weapons extremely out of place for the far future setting
46:42 Considering the amount of stuffs Mason is carrying, I don't it's weird that the mines can exploded from Mason walking on it
1:19:15 I think this is the entire point.
Actually frosty the plane at 0:54 is an Airbus A400 since it is a turboprop 🤓 (Also yes I know the C-17 was first built in ‘93 and the A400 is from 2009)
Edit: I don’t mean to be that guy but I am picking up likes, I actually don’t get a lot of likes so thanks 🙏
Yeah, half of these aren't even historical inaccuracies. They're gameplay/realism inaccuracies. It would be okay to just call them that.
55:56 Well, you see that's simple. Menendez willed additional shells into the gun through sheer force of anger alone.
I love how I'm 20 minutes in and only just now realizing we're not even halfway through the first mission in Angola. God I love this series. Subbed.
Even though the Black Ops games aren't the most accurate, they're hella fun and still have more respect for history than Vanguard and WW2.
Even COD WWII was more respectful than Vanguard
42:56
The Sukhoi Su-25 was used in Afghanistan I believe, but the pictured aircraft is a Sukhoi Su-24
babe wake up, the frosty one uploaded
I’ve waited patiently for this moment 😊
37:36 Wouldn’t a Revolver that shoots blanks still be lethal at that range? Or maybe a bit closer? Like, it’s still shooting stuff out of it
That type of revolver is incapable of fiering live ammunition
those race track revolver fire what are basically those little fire crackers you throw at the ground or step on, very small bags of gunpowder.
Maybe Menendez was track coach before he became a terrorist.

I’d love to see one of these done on battlefield 1 or V
ranking every pixel in different battlefield games
9:12 this makes the earlier point of many of them charging with machetes even dumber when their character models are wearing firearms they could be using instead
ALSO JUST 11:45
14:10 I am pretty sure the equipment that can be grabbed during each mission is mission only and mason just gets rid of the gear after to prepare for the next operation
Point is it's still heavy af besides all the gear he's already carrying
idk how he missed that
Najibullah lived in Khost (when he was younger) but he wasnt originally from Khost (Khost was apart of Paktia province up until 1986 however) everything else is spot on
Hello there I'd like to say you did a good job, however I noticed you made one mistake in your editing. The SU at 42:55 is an Su-24,not an Su-25 as you said.
I'm a little confused about the end. You're counting future weapons as inaccurate because they don't perfectly resemble the modern weapons they are clearly not supposed to be?
All the ones we counted are very much so based on and even named after modern day weapons.
i love your historical inaccuracy vids. cant wait to see more
I feel like it would be pretty fitting to review the inaccuracies in Metal Gear Solid V since the two games focus on the two conflicts from the 80’s albeit being two completely genres
There are none, Hideo Kojima himself served in the Afghan Civil War and everything in the game is historically accurate.
@@BigManLaskey unless you look at the gunsmith mechanic just look up everything wrong with mgsv weapons and you will know
@@BigManLaskeywhat?
@@USADroopyMeat1099
Besides weapons obviously not modeled 100% like their real life counterparts (mainly due to Kojima already being super over budget, as well as the fact that they simply did not care) *historically* (like this video tries and fails to do) nothing is inaccurate in the Metal Gear Storyline.
@@BigManLaskey do you want to talk about super over budget how about cod characters who were just introduced and got killed off in the same cod title they just came in and put them in marketing promos etc just to lure and scam their blind loyal cringy fanbases and communities
If you ever decide to branch out this series, I would love to see you take on Battlefield 1 and/or Battlefield 5
This channel among many others have been exposed as channels being promoted by the Chinese.
@@YukiPyroWhat? Why would that even benefit them? A guy said that some stuff in call of duty is wrong and that destroys America or something?
