Marci!!! Hi sweetie 😘 50 Shades of Coffee... LOVE it! Thought about you the other day when I was "just gonna coffee dye a few sheets of paper" and wound up spending, like, almost four hours playing in the garage. I had my 4" big ol' paint brush and was painting and daubing and splattering to my hearts content. As you can imagine I made quite a mess, so I started soaking up the coffee with paper and made some more magic. THEN I remembered that I had a pile of Digi kit papers that needed to be dyed on the back, so I went and got those... Don't ya know that some of YOUR printables were in the pile,👍 and together we make quite a team🙌. I don't know if you heard me🤔, but I talked to you the entire time! 😁. Today was wonderfully inspirational, like always. I need to fire up Insta so I can share our work! Thanks for the kickstart for my day. Love and hugs from this side of the world, MK ♥️🌞🌵
Hi ! it's a very cool video, again you are adorable to show us and share them - I never tire of trying to make them and in reality these papers smell so good. Very grateful , many thanks Marci , have a great week-end and take care.
What fun, and beautifully layered, coffee dyed papers! For some reason, had never thought of mixing the coffee with paint, and I love the look of it. You get some more texture from it too.m. while keeping the rich warmth of the coffee. Also going to try some of the same patterns and techniques with various tones of regular paint!
Amanda this was such a fun video to make, i love getting my hand dirty with crafty supplies and fun explorations, oh and there is a link in the description for the free printable scanned pages if you want to get the fork one for your projects. 😊
Being obsessed with books, it's hard for me to watch pages being torn from it's binding, but, I do like the effect and if I can force myself to ruin a book , I'll be using your techniques!!! I'll be looking for "already ruined" books at a few old buildings in my area. That won't be so hard after all!
Im a book lover too, i just losten to them now because with my 3 young boys is hard to find time to read, but i losten to them while cooling or cleaning or driving, so is not the same but its something, and that book was an old water damaged book my local library disnt want anymore, they call them “espurgo” and anyone can go and grab them if no takers then they get recycled. But u can use the techniques with any paper u have around, experiment and have fun! 😉
These were yummy! The various shades of the coffee & paint mixture looked like coffee ice cream. Yum! I really love your gesso and coffee pages and may have to make some of my own today. lol. Thanks for the inspiration.
Ooo those are soooo super easy to make, gesso + instant coffee, yummy goodness heheheh i make coffee ice cream in summer and i am telling u, its dangerous and sooo delicious, my bikini didnt fit after a month... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mixing coffee with the leftover paint makes sense. I wondered if I should spray my “coffee and spices &matcha” papers with acrylic or some other coating so it would not “reactivate” if it came in contact with moisture?
Hey from Egypt 🇪🇬 .. I don't have gesso (actually i don't know it's name in my country 🤫😂)..so may you tell me other things to replace gesso with? (Like acrylic colors? Maybe🙃)... Thank you so much 🥰
If you look here on youtube some crafty people have a recipe for home made gesso, I think they use baby powder, water and maybe glue? I might one day upload the ine i use to use when i had no gesso myself. 😜
@@MixitupMarci I still haven't made up my mind on it if there's an empty wall I wanna paint on it then it's there for a week and I wanna change it :D Once we lived in the house we had murals everywhere and I started to paint the house outside that's when Zsolt said that's probably enough :D :D
@@ScandishHome how about making a bigger version of the frames you have that you hung the bunny fabric piece in and making your own canvas or cotton fabric painting or mural and that way you could exchange it seasonally or as your soul feels like it? I do that all the time
OMG, this is so liberating to see,at least I know now what to do with my outdated books.so nice to see this video, what coffee do you use.i liked lauras video, yet I never knew it's possible to paint with coffee this way, does the paint become grainy
Love your papers and your way of using coffe to make them! ❤🙂👍

I’m going to try using the tp rolls.
🥰🥰awesome👏👏
Love all of these but you mentioned using them in a journal. I can't imagine writing on these. Or would they just be as fillers between blank pages?
Brava buona idea
This looks so fun!

For that i sometimes use my fixative for soft pastels! Maybe you can give it a try! 😊

Hi! Love your work!! Definitely gonna try it!!! Can we substitute paint for the gesso? Thank you!!!
If you can make it more watery and fluid i dont see why not! 😊
@@MixitupMarci thank you so much for responding!! I’m gonna give it a try!!!💕

Ahm, hi! What do you think I can use as a substitute for the white paint? More cheaper for me, I think. Thankyou!

Use instant coffee. Any brand. It will dissolve in any liquid; water, gesso, paint. It’s really fun!
@@lindseylovesart wooooow i gotta try that.
@@lindseylovesart thank you love that color
What kind of paint did you add to the coffee
Left over wall paint from my home. 😊
Going out to get some cheap instant coffee. Im not coffee drinker
Do you frame them???
I dont frame them, i scan them and then use the originals for abstract collage on paper or canvas. 😊
Hi Marci! This is wonderful! Hopefully, we can connect. I just send an email to you. Hope to hear from you soon. All the best! thank you.
4:40 I am from India and dont have toilet paper lol.....
