Using Coffee, Stencils, and Watercolors to Make Collage Papers

- Earlier this week I posted that I had tried using coffee and stencils to make collage papers. I had seen it on @anja.horstkotte's Instagram originally, where she said she just put coffee on the papers and laid the stencil on top. So of course, I had to try it, and it's every bit as amazing as it sounds.
After I had posted it on Instagram, tons of people were asking me how I did it, so I decided to make a video showing how! Other people were telling me that they had been doing this with watercolors for forever, so of course I had to give that a go, too.
I hope you enjoy the video, and that you have fun making your own papers!

I hadn't even thought about doing this with my coffee and tea dyed papers! SO Cool!!! Thanks! Here's a tip in exchange: if you are ever using tea or coffee and think the paper will ever be written on (like in a journal) add about a teaspoon of baking soda to the coffee/tea and it will neutralize the acidity. (Over time the acidity would fade a handwritten pen journal entry/ written text)
Love these!!😍😍
Thank you!!
Muy lindo❤
I saw a video on this but yours is better in my opinion ❤ thank you for sharing ❤

Thank you!!! I’m so excited to try this! I really want to know where some of your specific stencils come from... they are must haves. I’ll message you my questions 😌
I'm excited to see how yours turn out!!
Hello. You dilute the coffee with what please. I can't read a product name on the glass jar. Thank you very much for your video. The result is very pretty
Thank you!! I just use water to dilute it :)
Interesting. How did you use these pages?
I tore them up and used them in my collages. Granted, I still have a pile of them left, lol. But slowly they are finding their homes in my journal pages.
Beautiful! I've been told that if you put equal parts 90% rubbing alcohol, water, and coffee/tea, they the tea/coffee won't mold/mildew... is that correct or do you just use coffee/tea and water? If just water, have you ever had problems with mold/mildew, etc?
I haven't heard that about the rubbing alcohol. I haven't had any issues with mold or mildew on my pages. If I leave a jar of coffee water on my desk too long, it will definitely grow some interesting things, but thus far I haven't seen that on my pages. But I may have to try the alcohol trick just in case!
@@LauraMixedMedia Maybe when its applied to paper it 'dries' so it no longer molds (or whatever...LOL) and maybe the rubbing alcohol helps it dry quicker. I'm going to give it a try anyway... we'll see. :oE
Thanks!! I love it! I have a question:Is the paper special for watercolors? Kisses from Spain.
Surprisingly, it is not. It is 160gsm mixed media paper. ❤❤
@@LauraMixedMedia thanks!!
