Which transparent paper are you using for your collage pieces? If it’s deli paper is it unwaxed? I’ve seen medical exam paper used also. Yours has the transparency I’ve been trying to find.
It is Dina Wakley MEdia plain collage tissue. You can get a 50 page pack for like $10 I think on the Ranger Ink website.

@@shelleyroy9667 no, but I always have multiple journals on my table. I'm impatient and don't like to wait for paint to dry, so I'll work on something else while I wait. Or I'll put all my leftover paint in another journal and go from there.
Me2 …. I can’t watch my paint dry … instead I paint with another journal (usually have 4 or 5 on the go) with my leftovers on my palette …

Laura, this is beautiful! You’re inspiring me to return to my art table again (thank you!!) Hsve you already started another one? And I’d be curious which flavor of Stillman & Birn book you used. I know they have different paper thicknesses. Thanks again for sharing!!
I'm so happy to hear that!! I have started another small journal, but not with collage - this one is more abstracty. I have used the Alpha, Beta, and Zeta series of Stillman and Birn books, but Beta has been my favorite.

I see that you glue some and staple others. Brads can be poked through some and stitches added to others. Some can even be tied (though that would be a little more tedious) by poking holes with a punch and threading jute through, tying on the front and clipping the strings. Your painted designs and painted stencils are lovely. TFS!

Thanks for the tip about the clear gesso, I just ordered some. Do you have to use acrylic ink as opposed to regular acrylic paints, maybe watered down a bit?
You can definitely use regular, watered down acrylic.
