Mine glitched out and the glavenus didnt spawn the second time I started the quest since the first time I found that a glavenus had appeared and I thought it was just bad luck. I of course died since I was looking at a different screen...I was very confused when they were all like, O MAH GAWSH R U OK
Glavenus only appears once, and won't appear if you restart the mission. The game is kind of expecting you to get your ass whupped. You'll get another chance if you climb the ranks though.
The beauty of Glavenus is not just the fact that he's a T-Rex with a literal flaming sword for a tail, but it's a SMART T-Rex with a flaming sword tail - it fights like a skilled warrior - it sidehops, it feints, it picks either quick swipes or powerful overhead slashes. It's savage in its attack, but it's not stupid. In fact, its intellectual capacity means that it has to be taught...and it seems that it IS. Glavenus chicks are raised and taught everything they need to know by their mothers, and it can differ from one Glavenus family to another...in a rudimentary sense, they have CULTURES.

Even though I think Bazelgeuze's theme is one of the best in the series (partially due to my love for the monster itself), it's kinda hard to justify World's soundtrack being better than the "best of the best" that the whole series has to offer in XX. - 6 new flagship monsters with exclusive themes. - Almost (if not all) older flagship monsters and almost all of them also with exclusive themes. - A lot more maps, each with their own "generic theme" (when fighting a monster with no theme). - More siege monsters, also each with their own theme. And the list goes on...

Even with all the quality of life enhancements on World, Gen U has much more customization with 6 Hunter Styles, a lot of Hunter Arts, and the gigantic monster roster (each with their own skills and variations). I also think that you have more control over your movements in XX than in World (specially with S.Axe, some of the attacks in World go over automatically) and it feels much better to control the weapons because of that. Weapon and armor designs go far and beyond the levels of creativity that World has (and World barely have any joke sets wtf!? WHERE'S MY PIZZA AXE, ACTUAL BUBBLE SHOOTER GUNLANCE AND BLOWPIPE CAT LIGHT BOWGUN!?). And finally, even with the gourgeous graphics in World, I still prefer the giant blood spurts when hitting a weak point with a cutting weapon; the big yellow arcs gushing out and the loud sound of metal breaking when hitting the head with a impact weapon; the crunching sound of a severed tail; the combination of a slightly more cinematic camera, big blood spurts, metal sound and deliciously gratifying animation when hitting a Hunter Art. Basically any form of feedback feels a lot more satisfying in XX than in World. And it's not like I hate World, far from it. I just think XX is a much more complete and better package overall. I'd argue even X/Gen 1 is better than World.

When first encountering Glavenus in GU I fought him for a good 30 minutes before realizing I could still just deliver the mushrooms to finish the quest. However, I don't regret listening to this the whole time it kicked my ass.

Okay, I absolutely love this guy's design. He's literally got a Great Sword for a tail, and his moveset shows it; he fights EXACTLY like a GS hunter, between regular blade sharpenings, loads of brutal overhead swings and a few sweeping roundslashes or quick stabs for good measure. Sure, he bites and spits molten metal, but those are merely the icing on the cake. The giant, blazing, overly sharp cake. Although Capcom seems to have taken the 1000-Degree knife trend way too far this time.
Something I noticed in world that made me chuckle is that the true charge slash was very familiar to me. Two big hit one after another that pulls the user forward with them. I had a feeling before it was announced Glav might make an apprentice, we studied him well after all to incorporate it into out move set.
I wish the great sword for glavenus was just his tail and if you dragged on the ground, you get a hidden state like let’s say 200% sharpness consumption for 150 + fire damage and 100 regular damage.
Mhw rendition was the first glavenus theme I heard. And I can say without a doubt this is much better wow. I need to go back and play the old monster hunters.
I'd recommend MH4U, MHGU, MH3U, and MHFU. FU can be emulated on PC and Android pretty well with PPSSPP, 4U can be emulated on PC with Citra (or just get a 3DS dude). 3U is both on the Wii U and 3DS, but the Wii U version has both Local and Online multiplayer (3DS is just Local). GU is on the Switch, and the Japanese version is also on the 3DS.

Acidic Glavenus was just lack luster... hes just normal Glavenus with a defense down debuff instead of fireblight. Hellblade Glavenus was so much more fun imo

His theme in Generations really makes you feel like your not even up against a Monster, but fellow Master of the blade. As you both are trading blow after blow, both of you feel your heart beating faster and your adrenaline rushing. But not out of fear or dread Just the pure excitement and joy in the fight. There's no fear on your face, grinning from ear to ear. Almost like a dance of swords.
the adrenalin rush after evading his spinning slash with just a slither of health left, and then rushing right back in. gosh its rare to get moments like that and this theme reflects that perfectly

@@aCeRRii Both give off different feelings, this one gives of the swordfight feel, Iceborne gives off a scarier almost slasher type feel. I just prefer the former cause it fits better with what Glavenus is supposed to be.

i'd like to know HOW YOU MANAGED TO SLICE ITS TAIL OFF- i mean i have no trouble beating glavenus up but ive only been able to damage its face and back not the tail-
@@doomguyfishing942 I found the quickest way for this is with Valor Longsword. If you valor guard his tail attacks, it builds up damage and eventually it will drop. Aerial is great too, just mount him alot and once he drops on the ground, go ham at his tail
This theme is just so fuckin good yknow? Whenever I hear it I can perfectly envision Glavenus How it starts off with a simple buildup, fighting the beast for the first time. Him slashing you and the area constantly, the heat builds up in his tail. Then you finally get to the climax of the song, the blade finally glows a hellish rad and Glav shows what marks him as a *Brute Wyvern*. His techniques are faster and tougher than ever! And then the climax fades away and transitions back into the build up, the blade begins to rust as the cycle begins anew It's just so perfect for our Glavy Boy
I've only fought Glavenus a hand of times the past few days, but this track's stuck in my head on repeat. I actually managed to get all the abyssal mushrooms I needed before he knocked me back to base camp. 😂
In an interview a few days ago, Capcom said that Rise's music will have a more punchy and catchy style to contrast with World's more multi-layered and "Hollywood" compositions. Another thing they said is that most of the music will have vocals incorporated, *even the personal themes of monsters*. So if Glavenus returns in Rise, his theme will have vocals added to it, and I'm very interested in hearing what that sounds like.
Those dislikes are from hunters who are still salty about Glavenus destroying them while they were collecting those damn abyssal mushrooms Edit: I was in prowler mode😂

This sure brings back memories of my first fight with Glavenus, and now I feel like I got lucky because apparently a lot of people encountered Glavenus while gathering the Abyssal Mushrooms, where as I didn't even know he was in the quest and didn't encounter him. Either way, this them is straight fire
The quest that you are talking about is a key quest in solo mode. And the first time you make the quest, the game just spawn you in the zone where Glavenus is, si it's impossible to skip him unless the online
This theme really... Gives the feeling of an adventure in a way. You can imagine your Hunter sprinting full pelt through the underbrush while Glavenus is hunting them down, the more quiet moments where your Hunter is managing to hide/dodge Glavenus, but once the song kicks in fully, you know that's where Glavenus brings out the tail and starts going full machete on the trees trying to get your hunter.
In order to become the best there is at what you do, you must _become_ it. So if you wish to become the best chef there ever was, you must _become_ like your food. So prepare to get bitten, set on fire and chopped into bloody chunks.
Astalos:Berserk, exciting, gets you fired up, makes you feel as if this is a challenge Gammoth:Resolute, Powerful, makes you feel as if you're fighting an uphill battle against a god. Mizutsune:Graceful, Fluid, makes you feel as if you're in a deadly dance with your foes. Glavenus:Fear inducing, feels as if you're being challenged against everything you've faced and more, culminating in a glorious and bloody duel for the good of the world

I'd say it sounds more epic, but I prefer this one by a mile, still. It sounds almost like something out of a spy movie. Also, adding the Bherna Village theme out of nowhere in the middle of the best part... couldn't you choose literally any other part?
That's the problem i have with a lot of world's soundtrack. The songs are more subdued and meandering and lack that oomph that doesn't get me as pumped up in fights compared to the older music. This theme is definitely the one remix it's most noticeable with.
Did you know Glavenus was actually smart? It uses skilled sword-wielding moves like feintd, dodges, combos... It fights exactly like a GS user, and it looks like whenever you were doing something, Glavenus studied the blade.

This music perfectly captures the solo experience of MHGU, I'll never forget that 3 star mushroom quest Glavenus with 3x HP that took me more than 40 minutes to slay. Aerial Longsword is truly the best MH weapon ❤
Just a lovely, fair, nice monster, yet one that does not make you feel too sorry for fighting it. To me, it is the most awesome brute wyvern (Brachydios and Duramboros are close).
Imagine, now that Rathalos is able to channel his fire breath into a beam, Glavenus could maybe get this ability in a future game too and when they do a turf war it's going to become a beam clash between hellfire and molten steel.
I'm imagining a Turf war where Glavenus protects itself from the fire beam with his tail, and proceed to approach to give rathalos a well deserved bitchslap.
I still remember when the first time I encounter Glavenus in earlier quest, I just stupidly fight him until like half the time and use all of my supplies. Still can't make him limping lol
I hope we get all of the Fated Four in Monster Hunter 6 and that Deviants return and that Violet Mizutsune and Acidic Glavenus also return and that Astalos and Gammoth also get a Sub or Rare Species.

Not quite, I believe at that temperature his tail would be a bright blue in its ridiculous searing heat. It's probably closer to around a thousand.

@@doomguyfishing942 I found the quickest way for this is with Valor Longsword. If you valor guard his tail attacks, it builds up damage and eventually it will drop. Aerial is great too, just mount him alot and once he drops on the ground, go ham at his tail

I think all of the older themes of the monsters in world are better, they just don’t feel right. Especially nargacuga or brachy
I feel like nargacuga's theme was the only huge improvement, unless you count zinorge's mount theme

How it starts off with a simple buildup, fighting the beast for the first time. Him slashing you and the area constantly, the heat builds up in his tail.
Then you finally get to the climax of the song, the blade finally glows a hellish rad and Glav shows what marks him as a *Brute Wyvern*. His techniques are faster and tougher than ever!
And then the climax fades away and transitions back into the build up, the blade begins to rust as the cycle begins anew
It's just so perfect for our Glavy Boy

In an interview a few days ago, Capcom said that Rise's music will have a more punchy and catchy style to contrast with World's more multi-layered and "Hollywood" compositions.
Another thing they said is that most of the music will have vocals incorporated, *even the personal themes of monsters*. So if Glavenus returns in Rise, his theme will have vocals added to it, and I'm very interested in hearing what that sounds like.

The quest that you are talking about is a key quest in solo mode. And the first time you make the quest, the game just spawn you in the zone where Glavenus is, si it's impossible to skip him unless the online

This theme really... Gives the feeling of an adventure in a way. You can imagine your Hunter sprinting full pelt through the underbrush while Glavenus is hunting them down, the more quiet moments where your Hunter is managing to hide/dodge Glavenus, but once the song kicks in fully, you know that's where Glavenus brings out the tail and starts going full machete on the trees trying to get your hunter.

The new Iceborne remix is pretty good, but man did it lose alot of the energy from this version.
I'd say it sounds more epic, but I prefer this one by a mile, still. It sounds almost like something out of a spy movie. Also, adding the Bherna Village theme out of nowhere in the middle of the best part... couldn't you choose literally any other part?
That's the problem i have with a lot of world's soundtrack. The songs are more subdued and meandering and lack that oomph that doesn't get me as pumped up in fights compared to the older music. This theme is definitely the one remix it's most noticeable with.
