  • I'm asking the question, is the Fujifilm XF 16-80mm f4 lens with the Fujifilm X-T3 good for landscape photography? This is a review from a landscape photography perspective. They are both incredible options in the Fujifilm lineup, but how do they perform when shooting landscapes? The Fujifilm 16-80mm f4 lens is a wonderful addition to the Fuji X series lenses, with 6 stops of image stabilisation and super sharp image quality at 80mm (122mm), making the lens a fantastic option for photographing portraits of a landscape.
The Fuji X-T3 is a beautiful, fully professional mirrorless camera and is a perfect camera for landscape photography, being small and lightweight. Together, this pairing is formidable, giving you the option to shoot from relatively wide angle to medium telephoto range - this a great for picking out particular scenes within a landscape. I love this pairing for landscapes and have been using them together for a few weeks like this. It's gives an extra level of creativity.
Landscape photography requires a lot of thought and creativity to shoot beautiful photos, and I find the Fujifilm system gives me what I need to capture photography with a mood.
Camera used: FujiFilm X-T3 and Fijifilm 23mm f2 lens

Anyone who's got the XF 16-80 F4 (thus validating my decision to get it while I bite my nails in anticipation of its delivery) is my friend

How does the image quality compare to the 18-55 f2.8-4?

Your videos would be miles better of you actually included more than just one or two examples of what you were talking about...

RUclipsr/hobbyist: this zoom lens is not sharp. I’m gonna get rid of it.
Landscape/travel photographer: this zoom lens is fantastic. So versatile and a keeper.

I heard some say it's not that sharp at 16mm this is a big concern for me since I will buy the lens especially to shoot video. Have you found any problems with the af or sharpness at 16mm?

Hi there, I use it for video too and I've not had any issues with sharpness or af, either in video or stills. At 16mm I'd say it's not as sharp at the edges as the 16mm prime or the 16-55, but everywhere else in the frame is super sharp, especially the centre. Hope that helps.

It would be interesting if the sharpness improved at apertures from F8-F11 for landscape work ?

The flares in the image at 0:51 make you happy? for me - this is an image that will be deleted because of the bad performance of the lens against bright light
