  • Learn how to digitize a snap tab or key fob without any artwork using Wilcom Hatch. Includes important tips for stitching on vinyl.
We'll be using a built in font, the create outlines tool, and we'll use the rectangle tool in the digitizing tool box. I'll cover cloning, alignment, and setting the design for stitching on vinyl.
The digitizing is pretty quick but you do need to understand how a key fob is stitched so you know how to digitize it so I do cover that in the beginning.
Part of digitizing is understanding how fabric reacts to stitches so I do discuss this.

I cannot believe I didn't even THINK about using outlines to create a merged item like this! Lindee, you are the best teacher ever. I love your humor, tips and tricks and just general knowledge. I appreciate you!

    Thanks for the tutorial.
I learned that when using a 4x4 hoop if you float your fabric instead of hooping it, you can float it on the bias so that you are sewing on the grain.

Thanks Lindee, you make things look so easy. I got a free trial disc last year at an embroidery event but haven't activated it yet. I am glad I waited as I can (hopefully) follow your lead. Great tutorial, Jess

Thanks! It does take some work. And it helps that I've already learned another program and know what I want to do. I just have to figure out how to do it in Hatch.

Thank you Lindee. Love your video. I have figured it out however you gave me some hints perfectly. I do have a question. I have Janome Version 5 that is a duplicate of Hatch or similar. When I am editing in my Version5 my hoop starts to go crazy how do I lock my hoop and design in place so it does not move. I am sure the procedure is the same in Hatch. I have tried contacting Janome but there support for the software is next to none. If you cannot help I will contact Wilcom. Thanks again.

Thanks! Go to Software Settings > Embroidery Settings and under hoop position, check "Manual." I haven't figured out how to make that the default yet.

Thanks! My fingers keep trying to use the shortcuts from my other software (which are similar to Adobe Illustrator) and when I do that in Windows. all sorts of goofy things happen! Not good for a video!

Is there another term for 'creating outlines and offsets"? I use Premier Plus for a Topaz 50. I have searched my manuals and can't find that term, or the tool that would do the same thing.

StitchArtist 3 does it with 2 different tool. On will trace around the stitches to create outlines and another tool (Inflate) will create the offset lines. Punto calls it the inline/outline tool. I have no clue about other programs.

Thanks for this. I have the trial and a bit lost. I couldn`t see what you chose for the very start to design the fob. Was it Digitize?

Thanks! At 3:40 I'm using Lettering and at 4:50 I'm using the Editing Toolbox. I don't get into the Digitize Toolbox until 5:45.

Wilcom Hatch is that a free software for digitizing?

    • @LindeeGVideos
      @LindeeGVideos  7 лет назад +1

Not exactly. But there is a free 30 day trial. Go to this site and find a link to download: DigitizingMadeEasy.com

Not exactly. There's a free 30 day trial so once you activate, you need to take the time to learn it. You're seeing my progress in these videos.

Thank you. When you say "this one", we don't know which you are referring to. Say on the right or on the left. We can't see your cursor. Please be more specific.
