What do you think? Have I missed anything? RC vehicles will always require routine maintenance and looking after and its very important you keep some basic essential items at home ready for when you need to work on your models. Some great content coming up in the coming weeks including 2 brand new HBX models, more on the X-maxx and a very special guest! (Not the noob). Cheers guys see you soon!
Awesome video! I'm actually wrenching on my Wltoys 144001 (brushless, currently filling the diffs with grease)! I already have about 70% of the stuff, and will be on the lookout for more.
Great Video BRC as normal! I've just built a tamiya Mini and decided to use velcro with sticky backs on each side to stick down ESC and separate reciever instead of double sided tape. It works a treat and makes it easy to remove and reinstall when doing your maintaining and cleaning. The velcro never comes off when bashing or driving give it a go 🙂👍
Really does depend on what you are screwing together if you think the screw may back out due to vibration and use then a little blue threadlock may do the job but again really does depend on the application. 😎👍
@@beyondRC ok thanks that makes sense. I was going to replace all the steering parts in metal but if they don’t suffer from vibration too much I won’t. I’ll have some to hand anyways. Thanks for your reply. I’ve just got the 019 what would be a drop in servo for it no mods needed to go brushless? I’m thinking of getting the 1/10 scale wltoys just for speed running I know it’s heavy but think the larger size has some great potential
Do you also have a best link for the gps Speedo little black box and some engine mounts and pinion for both the 019 and the 1/10? What replacement screws would you recommend? I’m gonna use a soldering iron to try loosen those engine screws but I’ve heard horrible things about them being soft metal and too well glued on :( a blow torch seems a bit excessive tho lol just worried about damage to plastics
Dont use WD40 on bearings, this will wash any grease or oil that is in the bearing out of the bearing. WD40 is also not a very good lubricant either, simply use a light oil to lube bearings.
@@gillian9178 thanks for the info, would like a light machine oil be preferable, would that wd40 also strip out any grease from the pinion and spur gears
@@cam7858 You can use light machine oil in bearings ok, you can also use grease in other suitable areas as well. Yes WD40 will also strip out grease, WD40 is great for cleaning/flushing crap out. But must be oiled after WD40 wiped out after cleaning.

Maybe a little warning, not to get wd40 on the plastics, since it will brake it down, other than that, i think its well done :)
Thanks mate. This video was really useful for beginners. I'd love to see more beginner friendly stuff 👍

Completely forgot about Velcro! I have used Velcro before to be fair! I will add that in the description! Cheers mate
You make great quality and informational vedios 👍
Thank you! 😎👍
Thanks, much appreciated .
Your welcome 😎👍
Body reamer and good quality scissors
Cool things to have,great information
Cheers bro 😎👍
Nice videos mate. I’m your follower. And u explique all good and easy. Continuous like this. Cheers.
Thanks 👍
If your upgrading RC parts like arms etc to metal from plastic would you apply thread lock where it’s metal on metal or just go hand tight?

Make sure the grease you use is suitable for the materials you are using it on... U don't want wd 40 near your ball bearings
Absolutely and I'm hoping people use their own initiative on this one especially wd40 on bearings is a big no no.

Agreed 😎😎👍
what is wrong with wd40 on bearings , what should i use instead i am new to this

@@gillian9178 thanks for the info, I’ve been doing it wrong, wondered where all the grease had gone when I checked diff , cheers
