Bannerlord Tactics: Expert Tactics, Volume XIII: The Horselords Unite (Fight Khuzait AND Vlandia!)

- Welcome back future Khans, Emperors, Jarls and Sultans of Calradia! We're continuing to show our late-game campaign including huge battles, and winning(most) of these battles by deploying advanced tactics to overcome superior enemy forces. Our entire channel is dedicated to helping players improve their field command and if that's your desire, or just want to see huge, dramatic battles, you've come to the right place.
This series, part 13 of of our new 'Expert Tactics' series will help players refine their tactics to the point where they will fluidly move troops depending on situations, and win battles like a Legend.
Please comment, like and subscribe if you're interested in more of my ultra-late-game campaign, that may end up ending in utter despair, but that's the challenge of it. Any challenge where success is assured is no challenge at all.
My campaign is an extremely late-game campaign where I am resolved to give no peace to these scum Kingdoms attacking me - seven of the eight have been at war for years, with only Sturgia at a neutral stance. My family of warriors is now large though and with what remaining strength and valor we can must, we stand against the map of Calradia.

I use four mods:
Lord Retinue Uptier(Makes the enemy forces stronger, much less peasants and lower ranked troops)

Improved AI Troops(Also makes enemy lords and their armies tougher by giving them a higher daily xp rate. This means you'll routinely face armies with HUGE numbers of the highest tier units, sometimes four or five times the normal amount in vanilla Bannerlord): www.nexusmods.com/mountandbla...
Death for all: This mod allows you to set the rate at which nobles die more often. I want both a harder challenging late-game but also a more realistic game. If you're cut down with a massive aserai two-handed axe, you shouldn't just be injured 99.9% of the time. It's a very customizable mod so you can just a little more death or set the death rate so high you get several deaths every battle. The number I often like is '10', some deaths but not a massacre of nobles...

I also use the Dismemberment Plus Mod: It's highly customizable and works seamlessly with the new beta(and versions back to 1.28). I thoroughly recommend it if you enjoy carnage!:

I've also used Realistic Battle Mod in the past and highly recommend it for Ai and battle realism BUT I find the pace too slow for my taste and the AI is actually rather predictable after a half dozen battles. Much of the music and inspiration for this and other videos in the channel are inspired by Epic History TV - probably THE best channel on youtube(and the internet for that matter) covering the Napoleonic wars. "Mobility is key", also Tactical Enlightment: "I'm going to defend this ridge to the death"
Haha, I've wondered if people would ask this question. The biggest key is your army makeup, if you ARE going to be guarding a ridge to the death it's because it's a tactical beneficial location(and you have a LOT of projectile troops). Also of course, we do move, but only when it makes sense. Good catch though, haha! :)
@@HeadlessHorsemanProductions Yes you're right. Especially with Aserai defending a ridge like that is just op against the ai. Absolutely love it when all of my misile troops are raining down hell while my heavy infantry is pinning the enemy down. Sometimes i even dismount my cavalry to support my heavy infantry but then i'm not that mobile anymore. Would you consider it as an advantage, because i believe that my heavy cavalry is in a chokepoint like that more efficient?
@@Fu-qw7yb I think it depends on if you're dismounting ALL of your cav. If so, I'd leave them on horse. If I was low on infantry, maybe less than 10% of my force in infantry, then I'd dismount half my cav to use as infantry and preferably leave the horses in the way of the incoming enemy cav.

I’d love to see a fight like this from more of a generals perspective, rather than one in the midst of fighting. Awesome job either way!
Right, the RTS mod, ya? I've never really fought a serious battle through that but I guess if there was enough demand, I'd be willing to do that, at least for demonstration. It sure makes battles EASIER sitting up in the clouds, giving orders.

You bet - and I've shared a pinned link in the comments here with a custom battle for those having a harder time with cavalry that should be helpful - ways to crush them, in other words, without an elite, advanced army.

First time console player..Currently Khan of khuzaits,6 kids.2 married sons,3 unmarried daughters,,plenty grand children.needing guidance.
Battania is gone as is one of the Empires,trying my best to be friendly with Aserai.
How i only found your channel I dont know but the whole game is a continuous learning curve.

Thank you for the kind words and you got it, and while I'm not an expert on the Khuzait, I have some videos coming that have 'custom battles' where I play as the Khuzait and maul various Kingdoms using advanced tactics - it should be something you can pick up on and integrate into your tactics and strategy and turn you into Ghengis Khan himself. Heya friends, if you're having a harder time than I show here defeating cavalry, or have a less experienced army(which is probably most of you), there's a nice tactic demonstrated here in our custom videos that gives a fairly repeatable approach to decimating cav-heavy forces, without an elite army. Is there videos of you just playing this campaign instead of showcasing battles? I'd love to watch a 5000 plus day campaign from day 1 I myself am pushing day 3000 and my original character is still living
There aren't any videos from when my campaign was 'young'. I didn't think people would be interested in that and I 'slopped around' pretty clueless for at least a decade. Once I started snowballing in my campaign, I declared war on everyone except Sturgia and it's been carnage ever since...
I hope we can see 1 day a re-match of this video VS Cav but not in a map like this, becuase, the Khuzait could not use their movility because the terrain, I'm sure its no problem for you to deal with it, but for novice players like me, it's difficult
