What a helpful video! Straight to the point and well edited to remove all the stuff we don't need to see. My 2006 Saab convertible now runs really smoothly with no more ECU warnings after you showed me how to unplug those big ECU connectors so I could douse them in contact cleaner.

Just did a cold, dry compression test on each of the cylinders in my b207r. The numbers in PSI: 80, 180, 120, 205. I believe I have a severe issue. Just replaces the engine chains, and I reckon I'm looking for an even higher price. Doing this job seems no joke.
That's not too good, but neither is it that bad. Mine is down to 40psi on 2 cylinders and 70-80 on the other two. Starts real rough on these -5C mornings.

What if I only need to change the fuel regulator? It’s already exposed, so do I just remove the pin and just pull it out, then swap? Or is their more too it ?

Very nice and detailed explanation job. I've watched your cabin fan and windscreen washer videos and fixed mine. Just wondered you done any aircon jobs on a SAAB 93 . I've replaced the drier and condenser 4 years ago by a local garage. It worked 3 years perfect cooling as you've turned it on. It worked before last years MOT, but failed immediately afterwards. I did question it with the MOT garage and they just said it failed and shouldn't be caused by the MOT tests! I've checked all the pipe works visually, but couldn't find any obvious reasons . Any ideas to check it without specialist equipment . I've checked the magnetic pump pulley by disconnected the wire to it and saw the pump pulley disengaged !
Check the valves on the hi and lo side. One of mine came loose and I lost the gas. Tightened it back up (same as a tyre valve), regassed and fine since.
Also check the condensor, it may have been holed by a stone.
Love this video. But i got a question: my engine have kinda high vibration, and Ive got P0300 going rly bad when i start but 15-20sec its calm down but the vibration is kinda high. Have changed sparkplugs, hats and alot, please any tips? *Same engine as you*

Really useful video. I am upgrading my injectors to 630cc Bosch Dekas and there are really very few videos about. You are the go to for this kind of stuff for me even though my 2.0 aero is heavily modded! would a light silicone lubricant work for the injector o rings as well?
Yeah, a bit of spray silicone lube would be fine (even a drop of WD would do!) It's just so the o-ring slides in easily and doesn't "drag" which might damage it.
I've got a set of Dekas too, but not fitted. Not sure I'll ever need them so I may sell them. Did you find a rebuild kit for them?
Ahh yes... I already got a kit with o-rings and such ready to be used, and I don't have the ECU in that place anymore.
As for the air intake manifold, last year I did the PCV change, it was totally shot. The instructions on Saab WIS were clear enough although not very efficient like you did.
Also... does a counter thread drill bit and a magnet inside the 4th cylinder increase my horse power? 😆🤣
Long story short... dumb mistake after a compression test which was between 13-13,5bar.
All this because the last mechanic, when I had him do a full "chains and guide" job, gave me back my precious with a rough engine mostly when idling, and I was trying to trouble shoot the problem myself.
The "new" mechanic looks competent and I'll have him also clean the valves and pistons, as I noticed that they were so dirty that I could almost plant potatoes on top of them.
Btw, as I've been doing for all O-rings and seals I change, I'll get Viton copies later on (this time).
Are your injectors Denso like mine? If yes, where did you get the service kit? I'm looking for one.
Update: this mechanic will fine tune the engine, give it a clean and he also told me about the turbo which has a bit of axial play, so its going to get its first service since its creation 12-2003.

i've recently bought a 04 saab 93 2.0t. i hasn't run in 8yrs. The key turns but doesn't do anything when you go to start the car. Dash comes on and abs light on. i jumped starter and can get car to run off of starter fluid. but i am not getting injector pulse. please help !!
Am looking to get a Saab 93 2.0T convertible next year to do a Euro trip. On some youtube videos about Saabs I've heard that the location of where the ECU is located on the petrol Saabs, it can cause the ECU to overheat. Driving around Euro with outside temps reaching upto 35c-40c, do you think the ECU might cause problems ?

Thanks! Everything installed, but the small microfilters were a pain to remove. The filter tool just didn't bite into the metal part of the filter. Had to drive in a slightly larger wood screw and the hammer it out.
Cyd, won't there still be residual pressure in the fuel system? Would you need to bleed it off before starting this procedure? Also, is there a specific reason for making sure ignition is not only off but key is out?...is it to prevent damage to ignition or prevent bodily injury? Thx for this excellent step by step 👍

The fuel pump might run when you have the key in. I show releasing fuel pressure from the line not far from the beginning

Is there an O-ring where the fuel supply lines meet the fuel rail? Mine does not appear to have any, it is just metal on metal.
Ohh never mind, they are hiding under the metal at the top of the fuel rail connection. One is black one is green. It appears to be part of the fuel rail so not replaceable.

Do you mean why not disconnect the main battery? There is no need, but do so if you feel more comfortable doing so.

Are upgrades useful at all with just a stage 1 tune? Any good recommendations?
On a 9-3, get rid of the snorkel to the front of the car so the airbox breathes in from the wheelarch. Move the IC to the front. otherwise just keep it clean and in tip top.
