I like the content! I think the vacuum system is often overlooked and a properly sealed pump(new gaskets and O rings) is definitely crucial to your B207R running properly. Even for a reasonably experienced DIYer like myself who can follow WIS step for step it really helps to see things torn apart and get the commentary on what surprised you or was a bit of a struggle. Keep up the good work.
One tip…. When you put the pump back on, make sure the unit sits flush and is aligned fully before bolting back in. I made the mistake of putting the pump and bracket on and tightening only to realize (quickly) that the part inserted was misaligned a bit. If you continue to tighten, the pump will separate at the o-ring seal.

Get a new PCV valve! Positive Crankcase Ventilation. The blow by gasses from the pistons build up pressure inside the crankcase when the PCV Valve fails. This pressure then will cause seals to fail and you get oil leaks. On the B207 the PCV Valve is easy to get to. The V6 has the PCV Valve located on the intake manifold between the firewall and engine. It’s tricky to get to, but if you changed the rear coils or spark plugs then you know what needs to be done. I recommend changing all the valves while you’re in there: EVAP Purge Valve, PCV/EVAP Purge Valve to Intake Manifold and PCV Valve (Part #s 12611801, 12593486 and 12588555) Cost from eSaabParts is $135. Once you have the PCV out, shake it. It should make a rattling sound. If it doesn’t then it’s bad. Hold down the end connectors on the Valve when you shake it. No one talks about the PCV Valves, but they should be replaced every 50,000 miles.

the PCV valve is in the inlet manifold. Take the mani off and you can see it screwed in to the mating face roughly in the middle.

Once you have the PCV out, shake it. It should make a rattling sound. If it doesn’t then it’s bad. Hold down the end connectors on the Valve when you shake it.
