I was one of those young Insomniac fans that was living that life and now am old, jaded and sober for 4 years. Loved that show. It started my last semester in college.
Sheng Wang is awesome. He did a tiny show in the back of my weed shop right after his netflix special. He sat by himself in the parking lot for about 15 minutes then came inside and killed it and left. We found his notes after the show and realized he wrote the entire 25 minute set in less time than performing it. There was only words and phrases with no context outside of his set, but you can see high intelligence and a glimpse of how his brain works.
"An escalator can never break, it can only become stairs." One of the times he came to my town a friend hooked Mitch up with acid. I wish I had gone with them to watch that show.

I've never laughed as hard in my entire life then at that show, all three were in their prime. But like Dave said, it was obvious he had issues, he had two drinks on stage with him, and both didn't look like water.

Mitch Hedberg was not funny. His material was just silly one-liners. He got the material over as far as getting people to like it by having a dopey, deliberate vocal delivery while looking funny with his messed-up hair that was in his face all the time and droopy posture. It was a funny performance in its totality as a presentation. The material itself though was not really funny.
