Kelly Tripuka was an All-Star, Jeff Malone was an All-Star. Dave Corzine was the Starting Centre for the Bulls when Jordan was a Rookie. Earl Cureton was Hakeems backup in Houston for the 94 chip and he also passed recently.
Signing the cards is cool. Would be even cooler if the guest also signed them and left enough room for someone to get the player to sign it as well. I recently got back into card collecting, haha
Getting a Dan Soder signed Chris Dudley '89 Cavs card would be pretty awesome. I've got a bi-yearly get together coming up in April with some kids I grew up with in the 80s/90s. I bought 10 unopened Topps wax packs from "the mid 80s to early 90s" for some party favors.
I maintain that Dan needs to sign these and throw them out at the end of his shows, like a guitar pick at the end of a concert. The novelty of having a vintage Larry Drew card with Soder’s signature is hilarious and fun.
"you gonna put these in your bike wheel?" that was funny af p.s as a fan in the uk who cant get out to 'Murica very often to catch your live show can I order one of those signed cards please? would be dope!
Dan not knowing Mike Fratello disappoints me. He even did color commentary. CASUAL! Edit: didn’t know Michael cooper either it seems. DPOY with multiple Showtime rings
Great niche bit here, Attell opening 80's basketball cards. You should track down these old NBA players' families claiming you found old family photos and mail them these cards that are worth $0.01 each.
Can’t wait to get a Dan Soder signed Karl Malone and then bring it to him to sign and he goes “wtf? Oh him, I heard him talking shit. She had a fake ID.”
I can't believe he pulled out a Kelly Tripucka card that dude was nice! There's a cool channel called Forgotten Player Profiles i just watched one on Kelly Tripuka btw pronounced Trip-Hookah
New to stand up. Trying it out for the first time tonight and spent the past few weeks researching comics that came on the scene after 2008. I knew nothing but this guy, Dan keeps making me laugh. Genuinely funny. I’m a fan. Obviously I’ve loved Attel from the beginning.
The idea of this segment is better than how it plays out. We cant really see the cards and none of the guests understand what they're doing lol maybe it will come around in time
This part was so smoothly edited out of the regular episode I thought Dave just had to go and had no time for your immature man child bullshit. 😀 Nice to see this segment wasn't actually skipped over.
They pass by that Michael Cooper card like he wasnt part of the showtime lakers and later illustrious coach for the sparks I dont think he knows basketball as well as he thinks he does.
I love how there have been multiple complaints about the couch LMAO
Lmao no one likes it but dan and i love it 😂
Stavvy was def not a fan
0:31 'Welcome to the Delta Sky Lounge of podcasting' 💀💀
They slept so hard on that Michael Cooper card! He was pretty good, thats probably worth a little bit
found it on ebay. $3.49 😅
but i don’t think the brand of card Sodes bought is worth anything
A 1989 Fleer Michael Cooper is worth about $100 I think
Also the card said Michael Cooper was 6-7 and 170lbs 😂
Ain’t no way he weighed that little and played in the NBA 🤣
For real soder doesn't know anything about 80s nba
Soder, you should mix it up and give out old WWF cards to your guests who are fans of wrestling
Imagine Dan giving Sebastion a Bret Hart card lol
Imagine Dan giving Sebastion a Bret Hart card lol
DIGGGG IT!!!!!!!
The NBA card thing wasn't really planned, he didn't buy them, he found a bunch of them or was given them I believe
All sports!
I jazzed up my nightstand once with clear tape and 80’s Topps baseball cards of only players that had killer mustaches. A true real work of art.
I really appreciate that Dave still opened a pack even though he’s not a big nba guy
Love how it goes full Gandalf and Frodo forced perspective at the 2:25 mark.
Kelly Tripuka was an All-Star, Jeff Malone was an All-Star. Dave Corzine was the Starting Centre for the Bulls when Jordan was a Rookie. Earl Cureton was Hakeems backup in Houston for the 94 chip and he also passed recently.
Facts
Michael Cooper was part of several Lakers championships as well. He was their 6th man
Just watched him the other day give Larry Bird a run for his money in a 1986 game on here
Thanks again Dan. Love the extra Saturday drop.
Dave Attell looks like a warehouse supervisor
As a warehouse supervisor I agree
Between Tree Rollins and Mark Eaton its like this pack was an "oops, all blocks"
I get the same feeling with the Saturday morning card opening as I did with Saturday morning cartoons as a kid. Soders the man!
Love Dave and Dan hellyeahhh boyz
Much love to you Dan Sodies
Soders Sodas Now With Twice The THC!! 😂 cant wait till that's a real thing🍻
Tree Rollins!
Coop is a legend
"Core-zeen" and "Trip-uke-uh" ... some 80s name greats!
Love the bonus clips
Wife and I have tickets for Attell. So stoked.
Dave ending with a “thank you, Bill.” Perfect
He has no idea who Dan is 😂
I figured the pack would be a good one since Attell is wearing a durag
I love the card clips.
‘89 would’ve been Shawn Kemp & Tim Hardaway rookie years
I used to love going down to Seattle and seeing the giant Reign Man mural. Kemp was a beast with the Sonics
Had both of those rookie cards from this Hoops set
Their rookie cards weren’t until the 90 hoops set
I maintain that Dan needs to sign these and throw them out at the end of his shows, like a guitar pick at the end of a concert. The novelty of having a vintage Larry Drew card with Soder’s signature is hilarious and fun.
This is my favorite part! Love the podcast too
Soder continues to be the peak of what I pictured middle age to be like
Loooove the bonus eps!
Maybe ask them if they have a story from their life from ‘89, Attell’s coulda been crazy . Love the pod!
true, true, I believe '89 was very early in his stand-up career
This would be rad AF and give the pod even more depth.. Not that that matters or anything, js it would be groovy AF....Bodacious even.
Dan thinking every player retired in 1989 forgetting the pack is from 1989 hahahahah
Has he seen the Kurt Rambis card where he’s grabbing a dudes a$$? 😂😂 best basketball card of all time
"Maybe I'll get a dietician on the next one..." Fkn Attell... he's great.
"you gonna put these in your bike wheel?" that was funny af
p.s as a fan in the uk who cant get out to 'Murica very often to catch your live show can I order one of those signed cards please? would be dope!
Dan not knowing Mike Fratello disappoints me. He even did color commentary.
CASUAL!
Edit: didn’t know Michael cooper either it seems. DPOY with multiple Showtime rings
The Czar of the Telestrator (a word so obscure, even spellcheck thinks it's gotta be something else lol)
Cooper was the John Salley before John Salley.
"I don't mean to be offensive but you do look like you carry a box cutter."
sleeping on the kelly tripucka card. homie could score frfr
Mike Fratello was one of the broadcasters on NBA 2K2
HellYeah Can’t wait to see how many basketball players Dave knows. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤘🤘
Love this segment
0:40 'The Delta Sky Lounge of podcasting' 😂🤣💀
🛵💨💨 Dave Attell on the couch with Dan Soder.
In 'the Delta Sky Lounge of podcasting' 😂🤣💀
ITS PRONOUNCED KELLY TRIPYOOKA
Trip-Hookah
Kevin McHale and Michael Cooper deserved a bigger pop
Kevin still got more respect than Cooper. I was pumped when they said his name
Mark Eaton has the most blocks in history, rip to the bro
I was under the impression Dave has to let Ian accompany him on every podcast.
Ian couldn't and wouldn't fit on the uncomfortable couch in 'the Delta Sky Lounge of podcasting' 💀💀
I was bummed on the pod when I saw the cards and it ended before opening them 😂
Back to back same exact packs
i am excited when these release, but i am sad when they are not included at the end of the video
This Soder era is my Taylor swift
Great niche bit here, Attell opening 80's basketball cards. You should track down these old NBA players' families claiming you found old family photos and mail them these cards that are worth $0.01 each.
Yay! 🎉
Dan Soder helps me forget about life for a while.
Shoutout Mertle
Shoutout Bandit
Shoutout Mable
Shoutout Hans
Shoutout Riggins
Shoutout Oreo
Son of Gary!!!! It’s gonna be a good day.
Old baseball cards are the best
Soder is God!
Bringing this as a sign if I ever catch him
There's a competitive starting 5 in that pack. Score.
John Battle AND Mike Fratello!?! ATL Represent!!
I watched the Louie Katz clip right before this. The two packs of cards are almost identical.
Crazy, my dad played high school basketball against Dave Corzine. Where I'm from, that's a pretty sweet card.
You should have the guest that pull the cards sign the best one. and then you hand it out. If theyre willing of course lolol
In this set you are looking for David Robinson and Steve Kerr rookies - along with the GOATS.
Can’t wait to get a Dan Soder signed Karl Malone and then bring it to him to sign and he goes “wtf? Oh him, I heard him talking shit. She had a fake ID.”
It would have been legendary if Attell pulled Bulls Jordan because they are both GOATS
A punch in the upper deck.
so sick how attell wears a du rag 🤣🤣
yesssss
Anyone else get flashbacks to being like 8 years old when you see that pack of cards 😅
Dan GOATer
Pretty sure someone is taking advantage of Dave's frequent flyer miles.
3:26 manuel Noriega shoutout!
Wait! Dave Attell has a special coming out? It’s been soooo long.
Waiting on that David Robinson pull
89 Dumars is a great card. NBA champion in 89
I can't believe he pulled out a Kelly Tripucka card that dude was nice! There's a cool channel called Forgotten Player Profiles i just watched one on Kelly Tripuka btw pronounced Trip-Hookah
Soder is trying to "Hannibal Buress" Karl Malone lol
Cooper is a good one bro
I call dibs on that Mark Eaton
The czar Mike Fratello
This is the same exact pack that Louis Katz got
David Robinson Rookie ... there's one in each series.
He would know, he helped break it.
Kelly Tripucka was pretty sweet when he was on the Pistons
Soder mispronouncing Ian's name and calling himself out to subtly correct Dave lol
Copper was a Keeper!
New to stand up. Trying it out for the first time tonight and spent the past few weeks researching comics that came on the scene after 2008. I knew nothing but this guy, Dan keeps making me laugh. Genuinely funny. I’m a fan. Obviously I’ve loved Attel from the beginning.
We need a gofundme to get Dan a couple of chairs and a table.
SO MANY KARL MALONE’S !!
His name is Tree, not Wayne. And Jeff Malone used to jump during his free throws.
The idea of this segment is better than how it plays out. We cant really see the cards and none of the guests understand what they're doing lol maybe it will come around in time
I’m 49. This is so my wheel house.
Is this the same exact pack that Louis Katz opened?😂
This part was so smoothly edited out of the regular episode I thought Dave just had to go and had no time for your immature man child bullshit. 😀 Nice to see this segment wasn't actually skipped over.
Andre the giant and Bilbo on the casting couch
Give your guests a choice of Baseball, Football, or Wrestling pack of cards.
no
They pass by that Michael Cooper card like he wasnt part of the showtime lakers and later illustrious coach for the sparks
I dont think he knows basketball as well as he thinks he does.
Also mispronounced half the player names
Cooper definitely should have been put into the pile of prominent players
How do you not know the czar!!!
Kylie Tripaka. .. nice.
He got the same pack as fahim 😂
Louis **
Is it? 😂
