This mid tag has become a staple in personal/guide box. It's quick to tie and catches fish like crazy. I also tie it in black and a thread version. The fly has some pop but not super loud like a lot of popular tag patterns. Hope you catch a bunch of fish on it.
I’m a beginner at tying flies and I was still able to catch trout with my attempt at this fly 👍
Keep it up! Love to hear it.
"If you use 5 the fish won't eat it" Indeed, It's the finer details that one must always focus on.
Best tying videos always keep me laughing! I would totally love to see some tips/tricks for us lower lvls!🤙🏻
I’ll get on that soon!
Definitely would like more tying videos.
James, I even tied this fly in a 20 and 22 with a 2.0 bead ( like a midge nymph), ran it behind a floating sighter and killed it. That fly is GOLD
Happy to hear it Paula!!! Thanks for the feed back. The mid tag has become a staple in my box for sure . Sounds like I need to tie them smaller now.
Love the humor along with your simplified tying instructions. Great job!!!
Bro i had to wear sunglasses to view this HEATER of a video. ill be adding this to my box asap. almsot seems like a wing case emerging, and you could still throw a flashback on there as well
Thanks man, cool fly. I've just been doing a light coat of the lock tight on the thread and wrapping it in at the head and then cutting....no whip finish. Haven't ever had the thread come undone. Super quick.
Definitely gonna try the mid tag design, thanks man.
love this hook!! have 2 boxes of every size!!
Rosenbauers video would have an hour and 45 minutes. But James is just soooo flibbin COOL! ❤️
Nice room! Excellent video man. You're more of a natural at this than you think. Love the guide flies!
Definitely more fly tying videos. Especially since you now have the Fly Tying Mecca Desk!
Crushed them over the weekend with this pattern size 16 with a bright chartruce tag - methinks they mistook it for a cased caddis larva. Takes were strong and it worked well in braided water and deeper runs. Keep the fly tying videos coming please.
I’ll have to try that ! Thanks for watching the videos .
I dig the new tying desk and cabinet. I'm guessing this is the very first fly you've tied on the new set up. Can't wait for your next video when it's "broken in".
killer looking fly and I really like the mid-tag. I've tied up a few to send into action. Cheers.
I just got the Spemerfli nano slik and it is awesome.
Yes, we do like the intro fly tying videos.
Lovely!
Loved it. Well tied and explained. Thanks for sharing!
Love your videos !
Looks like this will catch mad likes on the Gram. Solid tie.
Let’s be real , it’s you’re not doing it for the gram , what are you doing?
@@AboutTrout I don't have a macro lens... so I'm only like a level 15 tyer. I gotta level up.
I think I was Tyler Durdened at 8:37 😯
Sick vids my friend. Slay on slayer.
I would appreciate more Guide style flies please . Let's face it ,if you are not loosing nymphs your not fishing them properly. Anything that takes more that 5 mins is a waste of time and energy . Time and energy you could spend practicing levitation or the art of horizontal mindfulness.
Everything I try to put in this channel is definitely under 5 min, yapping through the process triples the tying time lol. Thanks for the support and feed back. Pretty much everything I guide with/fish takes under 5. I’ll have some more fun stuff out this Fall. Thanks again for the feed back .
Dope desk. We going to see you on Cribs NM edition?
I don’t think the world is ready for chante
Ay brudda, tanks for the killa vid. Real question, when do you fish this pattern? What bugs does it imitate? Great videos man, thanks from the 505.
Appreciate it ! It doesn’t imitate anything just a pure attractor . Works great on our New Mexico waters even the Juan lol.
Great video! Count me in for my tips and tricks!
Do you really keep you tying desk looking like that? AWSOME cleanliness.
Absolutely not !!! I move it to the studio to film 😂.
Most definitely do more tying videos. I have half a box of the Milk Man you tied. That is my secret sauce (#ThaJoose) in the cloudy waters of Virginia mountain streams. I need more secret flies to catch those mondo 4oz Brookies!
My first trout was from Jeremys Run . Well technically a char for the wise guys in the comments .
Thank you so much for this tying videos. Some of us are newbies, so maybe you can do a combination of easy flies and difficult flies. You got a great personality, you were made to do this! Also, what is the name of the bobbin and what is the name of your vise? Any chance to link them too?
Truly appreciate the kind feed back. I definitely plan on adding more tying content to the channel in the near future . If you would like to support a local shop , Los Piños Fly Shop in Albuquerque, NM sells both the Renzetti Presentation 2000 (vise) and the loon all purpose bobbin. I bought the 2000 because I wanted some desk candy . It also has a longer stem, heavier pedestal , and better jaws than the traveler. It has a ratchet feature which I don’t use and most people that own this vise tend not to use it either , but worth mentioning . In terms of Loon bobbins I prefer the all purpose over the ergo. The all purpose has a shorter tube which I really like and to me it’s more comfortable . Thanks again for the support !
"if you use 5 the fish won't eat it." 🤣😂
So that's been my problem 😃
It’s science !
I would love to see more tying videos! Is there any reason why you couldn't substitute a UTC 70 in place of the thread you used?
Absolutely ! UTC 70 is one of my staples
👍
Do you live in Pagosa Springs, we are going out west again. And maybe we could get out that way.
I’m an hour and a half west in San Juan County, NM! Let me know, the quality waters of the San Juan are an easy day trip from Pagosa. We also guide water a lot closer to that area.
@@AboutTrout we are looking at the maps now it will be around middle of may-June. I will fine your link and talk. Would enjoy going out with ya👍
You should tie a white zonker streamer
Do you ever tie it with an orange thread hot spot at the bead as well? Or at that point would you rather just fish a Blowtorch?
It depends . I like this fly for clearer water so I try to keep it in the drabber side.
Wade Nymphster?
The intro fly rod
More tying videos please!
Is your barber in the jail?
😂😂😂 my wife’s my barber ... also she’s in Jail .
@@AboutTrout 😂
Used 8 CDL fibers, not even a single look
I got you about level 35? Work with us bro
Do you have a website ?
www.abouttrout.com
First
I thought it was Cock-de-leohhhhn not Coke-de-leon? Also you say Peacock and I thought it was Pee-coke. Please post video on correct pronunciations of tying materials. Thanks from Spain ✌🏽
I’m using the Galacian dialect
you whip finished 4 wraps....fish will NOT take that.
Ohhh good eye , better throw that one away . Definitely won’t work 😂
Loved it except the plug for Walmart. Support small businesses. Buy local. No offense AT.
I agree 💯 . The thing with loc tite brush on is that the brush tends to gunk up making it unusable so you really only get to use half the bottle . Loctite is $2.15 at Wally World so I can get two bottles for the price of one . Appreciate the feed back .
