Yes but everyone’s bodies react a little different to different foods too. If your gut flora has more firmacutes or bacteroidetes you’ll react more or less to carbs depending on the ratio you have but we know lower carb foods you’ll obviously react less with
Why? Based on what data? It is just amino acids found in steak. Phenylalanine and aspartic acid. Diet coke, not necessarily healthy because of the other ingredients but pure Aspartame is already in your body. Low amounts have never shown in RCT's to cause any issues. It has been studied for 40+ yrs.
@@KyrieEleisonMaranatha I wrote phenylalanine and aspartic acid. However, yes meats, eggs and other food naturally contain phosphorus and phosphoric acid (both slightly different). Which is good. But please don't take any of this wrong, beef is a great food.
Studies suggest that if you regularly eat or drink a lot of aspartame over a long period, it could harm your kidneys. Scientists also think aspartame can cause toxic liver disease. Mood swings: Aspartame can cause changes to your mood.
Diet coke doesn’t affect my blood glucose but it definitely does something to my nervous system, unlike other sugar free drinks. I get really agitated and snappy about half an hour after drinking it. Diet Pepsi, diet Mt. Dew, diet Sunkist, and diet Dr. Pepper DON’T have that effect…so I’m not sure what’s causing it.
Yes, it does affect gut bacteria-aspartame is a neurotoxin also. There are many studies that back this up. For those who want proof, I suggest going to the Zoe nutrition site and search for their findings. They study the gut microbiome more than any other group. They are easy to understand. Too bad blood sugar isn't the only thing we have to worry about! I'm sure a rare bottle of coke won't be a big deal, though, especially if you are a diabetic and don't have many choices at a party, or situation like that.
I think our body is used to getting a surge of energy when we drink sweet things. Since it has no nutrients, your body is gonna crave more until you satisfy it. What works for me is to only drink with a meal.
Underrated comment. My sister in law noticed that she craved sugar more after taking her diabetes medication. When I started taking metformin, I noticed that certain sugary products tasted bitter to me. I still can't figure out what additive to these products cause the bitter taste so I'm actually discouraged from sugar cravings because I'm also receiving chemo treatment, which raises my glucose and is why I'm taking metformin. According to studies, metformin helps fight cancer but since I can't raise my blood sugar most of the time, I don't take it everyday.
Your glucose levels are directly linked to insulin values, glucose has to go up to trigger insulin, otherwise Amino acid increase can lightly trigger it, that's it

Aspartame is stable to low acidic and alkaline conditions but it is unstable to heat. Prolonged exposure of aspartame to high temperatures and storage leads to its breakdown into aspartylphenylalanine and methanol or in case of cyclisation into diketopiperazine (Jana et al. 1994).May 5, 2011 Still bad for your body
You should test right after consuming the coke Zero. Aspartame has been shown to increase insulin levels and lower blood sugar leading to increased hunger. Also insulin resistance long term...
There are digestive issues with aspertame and carbonation causes gas and reflux. The studies are weak linking aspertame drinks to cancer and liver damage. A slice of lime and a Coke is nice once in awhile
You should be careful. I'm a diabetic too & had an allergic reaction to the Aspartame in Coke Zero - it caused a Diabetic Epileptic Seizure! The argument with aspartame is not regarding whether or not it raises your blood sugar. It is whether or not it spikes your insulin. When your insulin goes up, welp, you start storing what sugar you had in your blood stream to begin with. When it stores, it stores as fat.
I used to drink 4-5 of those coke zeros almost every night. Now I just drink water or fruit enhanced water. Can’t handle the Citric Acid it has. Great video and info.

I am a new diabetic I drank two diet Cokes and my blood sugar went very low which I had to have 2 test my blood sugar every 15 minutes because it was at 65 three times on my glucose meters, I had to drink orange juice and apple juice and and glucose 15 gel, my blood sugar did go back up to normal , I will avoid diet Coke and and Coke zero, in Pepsi diet and Pepsi zero, I rather drink diet black tea and and diet Green tea no sugar.
this is because your body has been tricked that there is sugar intake. Thus you pancreas produces insulin to respond to it. Basically you had an insulin spike. Insulin's job is to push glucose (blood sugar) into your muscle cells as stored fuel. But in this case, you actually did not have high blood sugar levels. As a result, there is an over-depletion of it due to insulin "false alarm"
Do you perhaps remember which sweeteners they used? What's problematic is that manufacturers do not have to declare how much artificial sweetener they put in their products like they have to with sugar. We as consumers should demand that manufacturers put this info on food labels.
