I lost 30 lbs in 2 months after watching what I eat without any exercise. But I was feeling weak and having some skin problems. I noticed that I need to exercise. Losing weight isn't all there to it. It is about being healthy. If you want to feel good about losing weight and want to keep going, balanced diet and exercise BOTH need to go together. Just wanted to help based on my experience.

I have a lot of questions about this show. Have the participants been screened for clinical depression? Do they need antidepressants to keep them motivated and positive? What about doing a complete hormone panel for thyroid, adrenals, etc? They definitely need a therapist who specialises in past trauma. Without that, all the weight is going to come right back on at the next emotional crisis. They need coping mechanisms that will replace emotional eating.

Get angry at myself then get depressed only to repeat. Trauma as kids is also common. 6 years of childhood abuse to me. I saw murder on vacation. Survived two forest fires evacuated from both. I survived a hurricane that killed others on another vacation… Then got extremely sick after the storm along with many others. Contaminated water at the resort. Intermittent fasting keeps me in control of my food intake. If I eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner even in "small amounts", its all over. My brain just makes me eat and eat and eat. It lets my brain know that I will have One Main Meal a day with some minor snacking if I choose. So I plan for it like its a reward. Also I do things to distract from the refrigerator like it is my enemy. Stretching excercise is my daily routine plus walking.

So don't act like him, lol. But (assuming you're still together), 1) you should evaluate your relationship for you. Is she the person you wanted to date? I get physical attraction is important, but is she the person you wanted? You shouldn't continue daying if she's not the person for you. And 2) it is important to be honest. If she can't handle honesty, she might not be the person for you either. She needs to be told the truth in love, and it's up to her to take care of herself. But if you want to continue dating & to help her, I think exercising together might be the way to go. And eating healthy (nice food, not like celery sticks & cabbage soup. Just healthy food.) Good luck to both of you!

Willpower is nothing in the face of carbs. You need a different kind of dietician - one who understands that carbs are addictive. You gotta go low carb. No will power is needed then. Because no addiction. Also, your bodily will automatically go exercise. I feel so sorry for him.

"Quick" carbohydrates like refined sugar and white flour should be avoided. It's actuallyt the ultra processed foods like pizza and chocolate that are addictive, but that's because of the high amount of quick carbs. But complex carbohydrates like those found in whole wheat, fruits and veggies are not unhealthy and have health benefits. And carbs per se do not give you diabetes, it's more complex than that.
