This is why I prefer British diet shows to American ones. The British ones are very straight-forward and don’t sugar-coat things, but at the same time they still remain light-hearted and fun. The American shows make it all about this sob story and the pain and struggle and the atmosphere is overall just depressing. And it’s really annoying to see the people whine and complain while everyone around them is so careful so as not to hurt their feelings so they never seem to take responsibility.
@@leemana352 OMG yeah. Do you remember when Simon Cowell was first unleashed onto US TV? He told all the crappy singers on Pop Idol series 1 (or whatever it was) that they were awful and had no hope of any success, and the American judges were furious with him for his honesty!
@@ashisfun21 Same here :D Unfortunately British 'bigger girls' are also jumping onto the US -exported 'fat acceptance' bandwagon and 'flaunting their curves' all over social media and accusing all nay-sayers of being 'haters'. I worry for the future of humanity, really I do.

I absolutely LOVE Ray This couple are one of my faves ever on this show because they took the reveal so well and it was lighthearted, but were serious about changing heir ways afterwards (and both absolutely smashed the weight loss after!) But Ray is clearly so in love and is generally such a little ray of sunshine 🌞 (pun jntended) Lovely little feel-good episode this one
I don't get the hot dog temptation at the gym...if you eat at your deficit usually (500 or more calories less than your maintenance), then work out, you have a 200-300 calorie cushion that you could leave alone or eat back, but if you've managed to stay at your daily before working out, you basically worked out to allow yourself a treat later which might equate for a hot dog to some. That life guard was in excellent shape and he still got one. It just seems silly to villanize typically unhealthy food when people can still reasonably fit it into their daily budgets and still lose weight. It's that attitude about food that leads to all the secret eating because people feel like they're "being naughty" and need to sneak it on top of their "good" foods.
Also, it's free food. If I take care of myself and am working out a decent amount, why shouldn't I allow myself a /free/ hot dog? It's one, and I watched a few of them walk right back into the gym, too. Idk, something about free food and not overindulging in it gets me weird. I feel it's not fair to judge someone eating offered food.
You know what’s kind of scary? The same guy has followed them to multiple places and was even standing right next to them! They didn’t even notice. Talk about not being aware of your surroundings.
I still don't understand how can someone be so much in denial. I get that not everyone knows the amount of calories in various things, if you asked me to guess my amount, I would get it wrong, too, but for them to actually not know what they are eating on a regular basis? For someone to say he doesn't snack when he does a lot? For people to say they sometimes skip breakfast when that's clearly not true? How can anyone wonder why they are fat if they go through so much chocolate a day? That's actually more than denial.
I don't think they are. They know they put cameras in the home so they know they are being watched and after the first season they would know they would follow them and keep track of their food. Its all over dramatized for tv.
I think many people consider eating "breakfast" or "lunch" as properly cooking something and sitting down to eat it in company. So eating 5 bags of chips during one morning is not "having breakfast" in their minds.
People on this show never cease to amaze me. Just when I thought chips sandwich or barn is something out there. Then you see a pie sandwich! A pie sandwich! Brilliant! 😂 👍🏻
As an underweight person who undereats (and is aware of that), it’s really funny to me how my bigger friends will say we eat the same because we eat the same lunch one day out, but then I see how they drink sugary drinks in class and I drink water and how they snack as well as eating their meals whilst I’m at the gym. If someone’s smaller than you, then you don’t eat the same unless they exercise a lot more. 🤷♂️
Thank you! It's so frustrating when people say that. My boyfriend is really skinny and everyone always picks on him because it's sooo "unfair" that he get's to eat whatever he wants and doesn't gain weight. And No one believes me that he may eat much one day when we're all out. But the next day I have to remind him of eating. It's his habits, not his metabolism
I hate this 'I eat what ever I want' thing that's in a lot of slim celebrity interviews too. If you want fruit and eat what ever you want of course you'll be healthier than someone who wants fried food. Makes people believe all the wrong things.
Same here, I can forget to eat the whole day and then eat more than my obese friends. But I wont eat for the next 12 hours because I feel like I'm going to explode, while they get another treat as soon as they get home.
What you eat and how much you weigh does NOT determine your worth as a human being. I hope your relationship with food and yourself improves. Not making assumptions but look into "orthorexia" its the unhealthy obsession with healthy foods to the point where it negatively impacts your wellbeing.
I lost 45lbs to be healthy and it still upsets me that some people can eat loads and not gain weight but it doesn’t change what I had to do to lose weight. I also like how the show talks about how the people believe they’re eating less because it highlights the fact they may not be lying. It’s really sad watching the illusion of control they had fall apart.
Killjoys, make some noise!!! The main thing for me was to make myself really aware of what I’m eating, calorie counting really helped. Also pay attention to how much sugar is in things, it’s amazing how many calories are in some things.
Rose Vampire ive maintained a weight of 188lb for i think 2 yearss and i eat about 4k a day, i may not gain anything but my inside and skin is dying and i need to seek help but i cant due to my mother
Rose Vampire I don’t think people eat a lot and don’t gain weight as everyone thinks. Some people surly have higher metabolism than others but it come down to simple matter. It’s how many calories u get in and how many u burn. For active people, surly they can get more calories than people who aren’t active. Women should get around 2000 calories a day and men 2500 a day. Any access calories that are not burned will turn into fat. Also, some foods might look like a huge portion while having law calories. For example a big salad with chicken breast and lemon mustard dressing (no oil) will have less calories than 2 chocolate bars.
LOL I love how serious they take this. intense music, quick inserts, the denial...then the embarrassment (Oooohhh MMMUUUYYYY GAAAAWWWDDD! LOL I CAAAHHNT BELIEVE YEW CAWGHT US YEW TOSSA!
I reckon many people making rude comments on their weight are heavyset themselves and projecting. We can all admit to a bit of mindless eating. I think this was a lovely couple and I hope they lost the weight for the wedding.
People always say they have friends who eat the same and are skinny as a matchstick. They never seem to stop and think about that. Your friend probably eats like that once in a while on a night out where as you eat like that every day. Also your friend exercises or has a physically demanding job. You just assume that because you saw them eat like that a couple times that's how they eat all the time.
Having a hotdog after going to the gym is good. As someone with an eating disorder I would kill to be able to allow myself that. Don't create shame where there shouldn't be any. Keeping fit and having occasional treats should be what we aim for
I don’t think they mean shaming others for their choices but rather “u just got out of the gym and burned 300cals, don’t eat a processed unhealthy meal after the work u have done just because its free” which is a great message. I don’t know what ed are u suffering from but people who suffer from binge eating disorder would be victims of this since they can’t really control their urges even after getting out of the gym.
It baffles me that they eat chocolate and crisps and other bad things, and it never crosses their minds that “this is full of calories and will make me fat”, it’s really crazy
I am Weight Watchers and lost loads of weight, just tracking and knowing everything you eat is key to weightloss. The worst habit I had was watching tv with food - and ALOT of people on this show do it. They have no idea the food is there. They don’t even look at it just staring into space and scoffing!
Yes the thing I love about this show is it shows how much is just behaviors and habits, ones we ALL easily fall into. No matter your weight or current health, we all can fill up on snacks in front of the TV so just stay mindful. Skinny ppl are just always mindful, not always perfect.
@@lexa3331 absolutely. Loads of friends and old contacts of mine have messaged me to join as seen my transformation and tell them just that. Mindful eating will help with weightloss. The blow it, its only one Chinese is the fat road 😂

The major reason behind them being secret eater is they don't have any knowledge about the food that they are consuming how much calorie that contains They judge the food by it's size not by what it's made up of...

I don't like the hotdog "trap". They're assuming that everyone goes to the gym to offset diet choices, but many people just want the benefits of working out like increased strength, increased bone density, better cardiovascular health, and better mental health. Possibly all these people are veteran calorie trackers and have a good idea of what the hotdog contains, and they're adding it to their daily count as their lunch. A 300+ calorie lunch is actually quite light.
@@ji.lliann Yeah, it's also bad for people who are trying to lose weight to think of it that way. I've known a lot of people who use a workout to justify a binge session, and then they wonder why they aren't losing weight.
It's funny because some of these people I swear only think it's the "volume" of food, but they don't consider every calorie they are putting into their mouth.
Sorry, but this guy IS a pig. In fact, he looks just like Shrek!!! He eats crap non-stop and then whines about his weight. I'd call him a pig too (or actually, a lot worse!).
My weights not been a big issue but due to migraine issues I’ve been advised to fast one day a week - you really realize how often you go to subconsciously grab a snack!
Walrus Latte it’s early yet, and for me I was also advised no processed food, meat, dairy or gluten lol. So it’s hard to say how the fasting has helped. Weirdly I kind of enjoy it though. Gives your digestion a rest and makes you think about if you’re eating for hunger or boredom.
Believe it or not some people exercise just to be fit not to burn calories and lose weight. Eating a hotdog doesn’t “erase” or “ruin” the work you did at the gym
Exactly! I was nearly head butting the screen at the insistence that people go to the gym to lose weight. I go to maintain muscle and to enjoy myself. Ok some people go to the gym to lose weight, but unless they are adjusting their diets the gym won’t be enough. If I were to accept some free food, like a hot dog or two, there’s every chance I’d just not eat lunch. I wouldn’t want to eat again. Not everyone is a mindless or secret eater.
Ikr I don’t like the experiments they do in most episodes they shame perfectly healthy people for having one cupcake or sweets or donuts when they are on offer
@@traindodge_7093 that's correct. But I have seen my friends going to fast food places and ordering take out at 800 calories or blowing it all in alcohol.
You CANNOT seriously tell me those people go through all those sweets, crisps and chocolates and honestly claim to have no idea where their fat comes from.
It’s all about education isn’t it. You don’t know, what you don’t know!
Yes! I've noticed that, I can't stand it!
I think Ray is a very gentle hearted man and I think they did great! All the best to you guys and keep up!! 🌟
Yep i want a Ray please 😂 x
This show has been my go-to comfort show that I've been watching on repeat since 2012.
I understand with season one, but anyone coming on season two must be dead suspicious every time they get invited somewhere after the filming is 'over'
I’ve read in other comment sections that they filmed 3 seasons at once🤷🏼♀️
Maybe these people who go on here don't know the show? Or this is scripted like many reality shows?
@@sattheer1493 that explains how they weren't aware of the PIs
I mean they tell them very clearly they are going to watch everything they eat and they still aren't concious of their eating.
they're also told to keep eating the same way they usually do
I absolutely LOVE Ray
This couple are one of my faves ever on this show because they took the reveal so well and it was lighthearted, but were serious about changing heir ways afterwards (and both absolutely smashed the weight loss after!)
But Ray is clearly so in love and is generally such a little ray of sunshine 🌞 (pun jntended)
Lovely little feel-good episode this one
Love the use of puns: “pocketing the wrong sort of pounds” 🤣
That pie sandwich also made me rofl
I don't get the hot dog temptation at the gym...if you eat at your deficit usually (500 or more calories less than your maintenance), then work out, you have a 200-300 calorie cushion that you could leave alone or eat back, but if you've managed to stay at your daily before working out, you basically worked out to allow yourself a treat later which might equate for a hot dog to some. That life guard was in excellent shape and he still got one. It just seems silly to villanize typically unhealthy food when people can still reasonably fit it into their daily budgets and still lose weight. It's that attitude about food that leads to all the secret eating because people feel like they're "being naughty" and need to sneak it on top of their "good" foods.
plus we don't know if some of those people were planning to eat after the gym anyway, and just replaced their planned meal with the hot dog.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
A hot dog seems like a pretty low cal meal to me. I didn’t understand that either.
is the deficit more than 500 calories healthy? I think 500 is the maximum
You know what’s kind of scary? The same guy has followed them to multiple places and was even standing right next to them! They didn’t even notice. Talk about not being aware of your surroundings.
The FBI loves this strategy.
'Lets have a look at what type of salad it is' savage :')
Fat people: I’m just eating cucumbers and water, *promise*
Right!!
lol
Everyone on this show skips breakfast, has a salad in the afternoon and another salad for dinner and has no idea why they're overweight :')

Yes😅
We have a show called My 600 lb life
It needs to be in South Africa..we eat to much food
People are too sensitive here. The fat acceptance movement would lose their minds if they did a US version of this
Please and thank you. “My 600 pound life”, prepares people for “weight loss surgery “. Most of those people are close to or ARE immobile.😩
People on this show never cease to amaze me. Just when I thought chips sandwich or barn is something out there. Then you see a pie sandwich! A pie sandwich! Brilliant! 😂 👍🏻

A lot to be said but I have say that I like Ray. He is a funny and positive person. I like that he laughs all the time.
Also who ads sugar to tea lol. Honey is the way to go ;)
Me too
I actually kinda liked the couple. Hope they've lost the weight
I quite like them! He really dotes on her. I love it.
🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
Tabea S Same! Honestly, people just believe what they want to believe. Whatever makes them feel better.
A pie sandwich?????????????
Thats a new one. Not something I'll be trying soon

It never fails to amaze me how oblivious the people on this show are about how many calories they are consuming.
The man was really inspiring. He was shocked and took it seriously!
Could you give me your routine? Trying to lose 20 lbs
Green Turtle
That sounds really sad, I hope things get better for you soon.
Oh man, you have no idea how much your comment made me laugh!
Compared to the people in My 600lb life (which I've just been watching) these folks seem positively skinny. XD
That's because most of them are around 200Ibs or 300Ibs
Compared to people who are healthy and not overweight, they are overweight and unhealthy.
Still morbidly obese tho
I reckon many people making rude comments on their weight are heavyset themselves and projecting. We can all admit to a bit of mindless eating. I think this was a lovely couple and I hope they lost the weight for the wedding.
Yessssssss! I've been waiting more episodes of these series
What a smashing couple, loving, supportive, facing this head-on 😃
This show should be called : delusional.
That gym scene was gold. Tooting Center lol and the woman's quote, "This is luxury" omg I laughed pretty hard to be honest
lmao she must live in a cardboard box
@@younghokim1994 i agree with her, free food is luxery.
Maybe she meant that as "it's a treat"
People always say they have friends who eat the same and are skinny as a matchstick. They never seem to stop and think about that. Your friend probably eats like that once in a while on a night out where as you eat like that every day. Also your friend exercises or has a physically demanding job. You just assume that because you saw them eat like that a couple times that's how they eat all the time.
Having a hotdog after going to the gym is good. As someone with an eating disorder I would kill to be able to allow myself that. Don't create shame where there shouldn't be any. Keeping fit and having occasional treats should be what we aim for
@@Parmesito dude that's not even the point at all

Imagine thinking that you’re just “prone” to weight when you’re overeating an extreme amount; all of these people are in extreme denial.
People do this all the time. I’ve had a friend who says stuff like this, and then seen her eat an entire family size bag of chips in one sitting. It is crazy
Well, people can be more prone to overeating than others.
Ray is such a sweetheart. Wishing them all the best in their lifes🙌😊
This is my favourite ever episode. What a lovely couple. Ray is mega Adorable, I love him! I hope that they managed to get married, but how I would have loved to see the wedding! I hope that they are both still doing well. (I have to say that I was mesmerised by the pie in a butty. (Wigan kebab. I couldn't stop thinking about it and really wanted to try one, so I did. I used a steak and kidney pie instead of meat and potato. In a huge barm cake it was delicious!! It was something that I just had to try, but definitely only a one off for me, I'm very careful what I eat.)
awww these two seem like a really sweet couple, i love their sense of humor as well
The major reason behind them being secret eater is they don't have any knowledge about the food that they are consuming how much calorie that contains
They judge the food by it's size not by what it's made up of...
Dr David looks like he works at Gringotts bank 🏦
Well you know she's not after your money when she originally met you debt collecting.
Yk it's so funny when women are judged for not dating broke men but then blamed for having children with broke men.

That is one lovely man tho AND also one of the few clean kitchens I have seen so far on this show
It amazes me that none of the people on this show ever eat together around a table. Always on the couch in front of the tv.
I bet the show encourages that.
That’s part of the problem. You’re eating mindlessly.
We eat at a table and we eat a lot less.
yoU, brits, i love you so much ! you don't take yourself seriously:) as soon as you see them after the diet they look so much better
I would have taken a free hot dog too and not felt guilty at all
All the commenters upset about the hotdogs outside the gym. 😂🤭🙊🤣
Well, it was an idiotic "experiment" and conclusion...
Pre preparing your work meals and snacks is a huge part of losing weight
I don't like the hotdog "trap". They're assuming that everyone goes to the gym to offset diet choices, but many people just want the benefits of working out like increased strength, increased bone density, better cardiovascular health, and better mental health. Possibly all these people are veteran calorie trackers and have a good idea of what the hotdog contains, and they're adding it to their daily count as their lunch. A 300+ calorie lunch is actually quite light.
Yes I agree. It’s actually unhealthy to think about exercise as punishment for eating.
@@ji.lliann Yeah, it's also bad for people who are trying to lose weight to think of it that way. I've known a lot of people who use a workout to justify a binge session, and then they wonder why they aren't losing weight.
@@rachelmaddowswife8713 yeah, causes them to hate exercise more.
That lifeguard certainly doesn't need to watch his calories
It's funny because some of these people I swear only think it's the "volume" of food, but they don't consider every calorie they are putting into their mouth.
Don't you think large volumes only increase the amount of calories? I don't understand your point.
Calling the man you love a pig is unnecessary and mean.

My weights not been a big issue but due to migraine issues I’ve been advised to fast one day a week - you really realize how often you go to subconsciously grab a snack!
how's that working out for your migraines? Never heard of this remedy and I'm curious about fasting.
21:08 PI Duncan hooked up with her sister and her stepmother.. tf😂😩

Ray has an infectious smile and laugh.
“Ooooooooh, I’m sooooooooo HUNGRY”!! 🤣🤣🤣
It's amazing how people pretend not to know what they are putting in their mouth 🤔
I don't like that this episode implies that a 390 calorie hot dog undoes everything you just did in the gym...
Well I think it's more about "don't go out for junk food after a workout" and I think they got a point there.
Most people only go to the gym for about 30 min to an hour.
RealJudyi so they burn about 300-500 calories and you need 2,000 calories a day, so they can have a hot dog.
