Removing Moss From a Lawn

My front yard has been getting overtaken by moss for years and this spring I decided to try to get rid of it. In this video we use a lawn scarifier to try and remove the moss so we can grow grass.

Moss is caused by compacted soil that remains moist for long periods of time and is even worse in shaded areas. I'm guess by the shade pattern on your house this area of the lawn sees very little light. You should do core aeration. For better results do core aeration and solid tine aeration. What you did may work but if you don't aerate it is going to come back. Aerated soil kills moss.
