- Day 2 in California traveling & helping people mow their overgrown lawns when I located this home that looked abandoned. The overgrown lawn was infested with clover and many other weeds that were choking out the grass. I knew something had to be done about it as it stood out like a sore thumb in this nice neighborhood. So I knocked on the neighbors door to ask about the property, and she told me that the owner is restoring the front house, but someone is living in the second home in the back. She told me that the yard never gets mowed, and that it always overgrows to the point where it makes it hard to mow. I told her that i'd make it less of an eyesore for her, and she was very thankful of that.

I love clover lawns! So do the birds and the bees! Very low maintenance, just need to edge.
I think that the neighbour has a green carpet !😉 Clover is generous/green/bee friendly and easy to cut..for people who don't mow often.

Clover is actually a great grass/lawn substitute. It uses much less water. It grows slowly. The bees love it and it smells so good. I may switch to clover myself.
some people plant clover to help the bee population which is decreasing all over the world
I didn’t know the bees like the clover so much. Good to know. Thanks for the info. I have some patches of clover. I usually mow them down, but I think I’ll leave those patches alone. I need the bees for my flowers.

Clover is a great nitrogen fixer in the soil. We live in the mountains and planted a mixture of grass and clover for the deer. Haven’t seen lawns of just clover much in town though, as it seems the clover needs more moisture than just grass.
Hope this inspires the neighbours to take over the upkeep until someone lives there! Great job - and Happy Easter!
