I love the A380 wings, they are basically just huge mechanical feathers.
It's incredible to watch, it looks like a bunch fingers caressing the air.
I SWEAR I SAID THE SAME THING WATCHING THAT CLIP! i was doing the thing with my fingers what the wing was xd
So thin, made of aluminium, filled with tons of fuel and not even bending an inch 🤡
These flaps make sound.
@@stevenewman9290 A380 is made of composites.
BA pilot realised they left their tea in the departure lounge.
Lol
🤣🤣 this actually had me dying
Okay ngl that actually made me giggle
😂😂😂😂😂😂

2:34 The reason - Pilot: "If you guys can't be quiet, I'll turn this whole plane around and go back!!!'
Qantas 737 at 1:29 did a really smooth landing!
Yes
It’s incredible that even a bird as big as the 380 is impacted that much by wake turbulence
It’s a plane. We don’t call them birds in the biz…because it’s lame.
@@justing42 - The 380 is such a beautiful bird.
@@hycron1234 metal bird
Love these bird compilations
the Qantas 737 made such a beautiful landing, despite the high speeds. Well done pilots! 👏👏
And you could actually tell he was coming in HOT
lol@@rinleez
Absolutely zooming in but a great landing!
I wonder what the touchdown speed was. 🤔
best airline for safety
1:30 absolute butter, well done pilot👏
I'm very impressed by the smooth landing without even using flaps (which a normal pilot is not used to practicing).
@@creativecarveciteclimb5684it’s practiced every time during recurrent training in the simulator.
It’s “greaser”. The pilot won’t know what u mean by “butter”, unless he is on RUclips.
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183wrong. Butter 10/10 absolute cream
The sound of the flaps on the a380 is beautiful 😻❤️
Other planes entering the A380s wake: flip over and try to not die
A380 enters other plane's wake: huh jeez... Another unstable final... Gotta go around, dammit...
The a380 wake turbulence incident wasn’t caused by a departing aircraft, but from the previous arrival. Wake turbulence from a departing aircraft would have been at the other end of the runway. Wing tip vortices start at takeoff and end the moment the aircraft touches down.
The PC12 skillful pilot made a perfect landing.
damn, that Qantas B737 landed like a fighter jet.... and the pilot did hold the nose up for quite sometime for aerodynamic braking too...
Never seen a fighter jet land so slowly
Yes that's 100% correct
Butter landing even without flaps. #B737
1:28: and had to land with more speed than usual
that was probably the smoothest landing that runway saw that day.
Looks like there was a B757 ahead of the A380 coming in for the landing. I have heard that the wake turbulence from that mid-sized rocket is monstrous.
Wake turbulence is no joke and the flight crew definitely made the right decision here!
Jesus Christ is like Santa. He doesn't exist
I disagree. They shoud have committed to landing. There was enough buffer time. Go around unnecessary Waste of fuel and pollution to the environment.
@@sithabelamandlawenkosiwodu6298
Ah yes let’s prioritize a little bit of fuel over endangering an aircraft
@@tgr5588 prioritise the planet. A380 too big to be affected too much by a little rough air.
I'm glad you don't fly...real pilots go around if something isn't sound
OMG i was not expecting such an amazing landing from that Qantas 737, despite flaps!
Great video brother from the imperial county California 👍 and happy New year 🎊🎊
I haven’t seen a Lucaas video in like what, two years? Now I can’t stop watching them
I wish you had held on that shot of the plane landing fast without flaps as it appeared to be near the end of the runway!
It just looks that way, the runway curves downward out of the cameras view and is 3.4km long which is plenty for this 737.
Holy shit that qantas pilot is good.
Thank you
When it comes to landings "Quitter never wins, winner never quits" :)
1:30 smooth butter 🧈🧈🧈🧈🧈🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Hi Luke. Where was the smoke produced by the brakes visible in this clip from 2:32 to 2:55?
The Qantas with flap issues had a smoother landing compared to Southwest or Ryanair with no issues.
To be fair, most meteorites have smoother landings than Ryanair.
@@martinsibbe536thank you for flying Ryanair 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
No worries, the 757 could take off on half of one engine.
🙄
How would the blades spin?
@@TheUtuber999It's a joke about how the 757 has overpowered engines for a plane it's size.
all twin engine jets are required to be able to do that if i recall correctly, though a 757 could probably do it vertically
@@clementpoon120fly with half of one engine. No they aren’t designed to do that.
Nahhhh that last one was crazy. I literally did the same thing with a 777 BA aircraft 2 weeks or so ago on a simulator because I was testing the engine failure option in take off😅
I don't think the A380 would hit a departing aircrafts wake over the arrival end of the runway. It may be jet blast or some other cause but wake is only caused by an aircraft that's wings are producing lift. Maybe they were to close to an arriving aircraft before them.
That BA 777 - has it had part of the fuselage replaced? Or is it just really dirty? Looks like a big square section outlined.
if youre referring to the one around door 2L, its just dirt from where the jet bridge is meeting the aircraft at gate. Not a great look is it....
that prop job at 2:14 made my colon seize
Nice
Zero flaps quantas buttered the landing anyway tho
b e a uuutiful!
The Embraer Phenom 100 that caused the wake for the 380 to go around.. must be feeling so proud of itself.
Just joking.
Don’t give up your day job. You would starve as a comedian.
Indeed! Let alone the prop wash of a C152🙂
@@rexblokland7778 That warning from Kennedy Steve to that 747 was legendary.
Wonder how many lives were saved that day.
Thats actually a little more than a normal rotating compressor stall - what can be seen here is a surge.
0:53 cool Hercules
757 engine farts are a problem.
0:40 The movement of the control surfaces makes me think of the Ironman suit.
Someone's getting in trouble for not checking the flap juice
I was in three go-arounds, and only once the pilot told us the reason.
Pilots will always communicate reason for go around.
That 757 got afterburners
1:41 As a Perth citizen who wasn’t at the plane spotting area, when was that?
There is no way to tell they never report these incidents to the public But it looked recent due to the new Tonkin Hwy modifications...

@@27degrees Oh ok, thank you
That's basically me after 2 plates of chilli con carne....
What could toss a 380 around like that?
Wake Turbulence
The tips of the wings on an aircraft (and blades from a helicopter) cause swirling vortices of wind (look for it in videos of planes landing or taking off in foggy or wet conditions.
The larger the aircraft, the bigger the disruption to the air and the longer it can linger.
It was probably another A380 or at least large Boeing or Airbus airliner that just landed in front of them and they got caught in it at the wrong time and decided to go around.
First one is Lanzarote (Canary Islands)
Pov: when History almost repeats itself!
Good vid, narrators voice totally grates , voice coaching would help.
He's Swedish - give him a break...
He talks with plenty of hot air.
you see the boeing planes are dangerous, flaps didnt open, engine throwing flames, windows are going out in mid air, crashes etc. Buying tickets only with airbus.
That's not how wake turbulence works. He hit the wake turbulence from the preceding arrival, not a departure.
Likely just misspoke. Go arounds are busy on the flight deck.
@@MeppyManpilot didn’t say anything about departing or arriving. He said aircraft ahead of us. The narrator said departing. Maybe he is wrong.
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183you were too fast for me. I just rewatched it and came back to correct myself. 😊

The pilot said it correctly. It was the youtuber who said it wrong.

BA pilot had an Amazon delivery.
Ummm…that’s not how wake turbulence works. A departing aircraft wouldn’t make wake turbulence at the beginning of the runway.
Imagine if lucas was commercial pilot.
I'd be nervous if his voice came on the PA. I would mean something clip worthy was about to happen! 😵

@@RACECAR Good point. Noticed there weren't any clips of the JAL accident included.
It sure looks like Dubai has very bad air pollution.
Holy crap, Aviation is taking a L in 2025
The 777 abort, that wasn’t smoke from the brakes. That was tire smoke.
looks like theres a fuel leak from the wing. lucky the whole plane didnt explode.
Where is the B757...???
Thank God the pilots weren't affirmative action hires.
I have a slight idea that you are the brother of Alexa.....

Did anyone notice all the tire tracks on the hill behind the St. Bart’s runway? Too many low landings? 😜
They must clear debris and any foreign objects, so they are just car tracks.
